KS, do the gas lines that lead to the injector rails, redo the Y shaped coolant hoses right above the ks. Make sure the injectors (3-6) that go under the plenum are purple headed or new. Only put one screw in injector #7's cover, so that you can remove it w/o plenum removal. (you will see what I am talking about) Get the plenum gaskets for each runner, unless you like to smell funk and not know where its coming from.Other than that, leave it alone....

I am not in a huge hurry. I am not getting another engine till next weekend and then need to find time to put it in. Then I will need the ECU after I get everything put together. What should I do to the engine while it is out besides replace the knock sensors and spark plugsI never heard back on the aftermarket cams. Has anyone used these with success Do you have to change valve springs

To Wes's knoledge the aux fan/condenser fan comes on at 205* F and on the 1993's there is an actual temprature sensor that controls the fan and it may come on sooner or later. And the TCS system acually has another temprature sensor on the Y shaped alluminum pipe, Besides the acuall collant temp sensor that gives to temp to the gauge on the insrument cluster. And the Fedral ECU will ignore the EGR temprature sensor, which should be fine, But if you think other wise you can always switch the ECU to the stock program.

Do you think I would settle for having a CEL on or anything less than perfect The answer is no.There really isnt any appreciable difference in the california model, some minor stuff but nothing worth making any big deal about. You can put my ECU directly into a california car with no problems at all, no CEL's, no funny business... I program all my with the standard federal software and since therse only extra stuff on the california model, the ECU just ignores the other garbage. on the 90-93s theres a little more differences but again, nothing major... The only difference on a 94 cali model to my knowledge is there is a coolant sensor in the valley on the Y shaped cooling line that splits off to the heads.. I dont know what it does or what its impact on anything is, but i assure you it wont matter.Again, let me clarify. My ECU applies to 90-95 Q45s however you must get a 90-93 ECU (since I cannot program the later 16 bit ECU) with or without TCS.

Of course just send you ECU in (Assuming you have a spare or don't mind waiting 2 weeks MAX) and he will program it for you. He can do 1 stock and one Mad Max program if you want for you. And California or Federal model ECU doesn't matter at all, All he really does is change the Maps and there by remove some of the preset safety's from the factory. As long as your car is in great shape (meaning all the maintance Items are and will continue to be taken care of) and you use ONLY 93 octane gas you will be OK. See here for more info: http://www.q45.org/vhpower/parts.shtml

Ive gone over the differences before, if you'd like to search you can... in short, these ECU's are not designed for cars that are anything less than perfect mechanically, and have had no issues with cars that fall under that category..The only function that has been given up is control over the auxillary fan. however, for 99% of people this is a non issue because on the 94 ECUs the fan is programmed to come on at like 230F (way overheated anyway, the number escapes me right now) with the AC off, and way sooner with the AC on...In short, if your car is running as it should, the aux fan will NEVER kick on because your car will never get hot, and even then if its that hot outside you probably have your AC running anyway in which case the AC system will kick the fan on WAY before the car starts running that hot!if you'd like more details please search... But let me EMPHASIZE THAT I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS UPGRADE IF I HADN'T DONE ALL THE PRIOR TESTING AND RUN THIS SETUP ON MY CAR MYSELF.I am not in this to make money, i let the product sell itself.. You can either buy one from me (superior product) or get one from JWT for about 3x the money (inferior product). Again if you want more informaiton I have gone into PLENTY of detail on the forum!

Gas milage improvement is HUGE. It used to suck it down when I gunned it, now its like Im putting down the highway when in reality, Im calling out ricers on highway 370, doin 60, letting them approach at full throttle, then, and then, doin nothing but MF OWNING anything that gets next to me. 140, no problem...My old O2 sensors still need to be changed since the "laziness" really shows at times.....makes Niqole run rich sometimes, it comes and it goes. But at least I can nip that problem in the bud!!! Thanks again Wes for the pute and the advice on those o2 sensors (and Q45 tech)!! Its making Niqole run like a muscle car!!!! Lots a fun!!! Highway 370 and 364 are awesome out here, a real mid-west auto bahm. Oh, is unhooked stage 2 I have even not tried stage 3 yet.. QT 91 octaneMobil 1 93 octane

Long story short, yes its one of the nico members, y guess is because for one the chain guide issue thing, I know it broke on him, and he bought a totaled 96 q for really cheap, and it only had 70k on the car so he just swapped it out for everything, I'm not complaining, I'm getting a 92 q with only 70k on the motor and I don't have to worry bout that stupid chain guide thing.. I'm happy

Nice mod! The NICO ECU took about 10 minutes to install. My Q does not have to do as much as it used t on the highway to gain speed, the word effortlessly comes to mind. The engine does not wind up before accelerating anymore, it just jams it. After 4000 rpm during WOT it seems to double acceleration; WOT is almost as if I am pressing the gas half way down and then pressing the gas all the way to the floor after 4k rpm!!!! My neighbors yelled "slow down" as Niqole growled down my street. Wicked pick up between 60 and 80. Very pleased...Thanks Wes!!!

Hey I am getting a 1991 Q45 with TCS ECU, Now if that hooks up to my consult correctly I will want a NICO ECU. But would Be able to give you a cali model ECU with TCS so you can use as a core or knock some money off the price. The price isn't really a problem its getting the money that is.

So then I have to find an ECU because mine isn't working properly with that consult plug. Unless If I can send you the 94 ECU Cali TCS but do you think you could put a resistor in there for the EGR temp sensor for that same price
