Dalma is right, but for the wrong reasons. The new Cube is a new Cube, so the previous generations in Japan aren't going to do much, if anything to improve the reliability of the present generation. However, the new Cube is basically a different body on a Versa chassis, so most of the bugs were worked out on the Versa.

The design may be far fetched, but it takes time to grow on you. I like the utilitarian design and how it's roomy inside. The stadium seating in the back is awesome, wish the Versa had that. The climate control instrument panel is fitter than the V's. It has a temperature display and you can adjust it with the readout. Also, it has an auto fan feature which keeps it a constant temperature so you don't have to adjust it to the right temp. However, I already have a Versa and appreciate what I got for now. May glance into it physically once it's released next spring.

Im a newbie here....looking into the Cube and some info for my old Maxima brought me to this board....I'm seriously considering getting a Cube, but I do also believe in the hesitation to buy first-model-year vehicles. In my experience with cars and newly produced models of equipment (or nearly any porduct for that matter), there is allways at least some minor faults that get through the production system that doesn't become evident until the product is put into service....or into a new service environment, for that matter.....if you have access to it, just search any automotive line service bulletins and you'd see what I mean. Problems came up shortly after the model was released and then changes where made to eliminate it in later years....My delema here is that I like the car enough and trust Nissan's overall quality that I am nearly set on taking that risk with the hope that warranty will take care of any of those issues that arise. My other thought is that Im not impressed by the MPG I've seen for the cube....but I also have allways experienced better MPG from my Nissans (on my 5th now) than what they advertise.

Quote, originally posted by TrustME I'm waiting for the specs to drop. A lot of talk about the Versa 1.8 engine going to the Cube instead of the 1.4. Works for me.Specs are out. Released on the 19th, the first press day of the LA Auto Show.3 trims available: standard, S and SL. All 3 will have the 1.8L from the Versa, which has been getting about 27/33 mpg by folks on the Versa board. Not sure what the cube will be as ratings have not been released but the press release says 30+. 6MT or CVT will be available. An optional sonar back-up assist system (like the ones you see on luxury cars) will be available.Check out the mini-site: http://www.nissanusa.com/cube
