Wow that's a shame that you have had such a bad experience that it has soured you on the product. There really not bad cars and many service departments that treat customers in such a manner are destine to either end up in different management once their numbers start slipping. Charging 1hr to make a 5 minute adjustment is excessive although I do not set the rules. I know there are allowed to set their own rates for customer requested services like this. You are fortunate though given your geographical location finding a more reputable dealer is not too difficult. There are some top rated dealers in your area, they make require some more time to get too but it should be worth the venture. Good Luck and don't throw the towel in just yet.

The labor charge to hook up the ECU with the programing unit that they have. Price was 109 and some change. I regret getting an Infiniti. Love the car but the service I get from the service department is really bad. This is Lexus of Glendale Yahoo ratings:http://local.yahoo.com/details...viewsOne more Lexus close to my house:http://local.yahoo.com/info-20...2C+CAAnd here is Infiniti:http://local.yahoo.com/info-20...2C+CAAnd one more close to my house:http://local.yahoo.com/info-20...2C+CAIf the service doesn't match the price that we're paying for our cars, its not worth paying this much. They might as well label the Infiniti cars as Nissan cars and reduce the price. The reason why I pay more for these cars such as Infiniti, Lexus, Acura, and BMW is the class. I am just venting guys. I am very very disappointed in the service. I am seriously thinking about ditching this car and going back to Lexus.

That kind of sucks that they would charge you for that. I can understand if you are going in there for only that, but if you are already in for something like and oil change they should do it as a kind gesture. It's little things like this that hurts a dealers satisfaction rating. Changing this function only takes about 5 minutes, if the tech knows what they are doing. What were they trying to charge you for this simple setting change Not trying to be too noisy just curious.

I'm writing to confirm what you say is true. My dealer told me so and I had him change the setting to lock when out of park and unlock in park with motor running. Took a bit of arm twisting to get them to think how to do it but in the end well worth the effort.

Hey there guys. There are three different choices you have when it comes to the Auto locking function on the door locks. 1-Locks at ~15mph and unlocks when the Ignition button is turned off. 2- Locks when the gear shift is changed from Park. Unlocks in Park with key on.(My personal choice)3- Off, no auto lock operation. The Consult III and a trained tech are required to make the memory change in the BCM. It is just part of the software and is not changeable any other way. There are a few other things that EX owners can set, the puddle lights are really easy to initialize and turning the Auto locking feature off is also pretty easy. The OP is right in this case and that is exactly what it says to do, . That is the information they should give you

Yes. The dealer used its computer to plug into my car and made the adjustment. The tech specifically trained for the EX was on vacation, so the tech who made the change had to search a bit, but was able to find the option and make the change. Good luck!

Update: went to the dealer today and asked for them to explain how to do this. The change was made, but there is no way to do it withou the Infiniti computer plugging into the car's module. No explanation why it takes a dealer.

Page 3-6 says," An INFINITI dealer can customize this function to unlock the doors when the selector lever is moved to the P (Park) position form the other positions. Contact an INFINITI dealer for details."So, your answer really doesn't do much to move the inquiry along. Perhaps, had you read the manual before responding, you would have understood my question.
