The XM problem has only happened in open areas where I have never had a signal problem in other vehicles. I drove the car yesterday, and did not have the problem, so will wait and see how it goes. Thanks for the replies and for holding back on the ribbing about the door lock confusion!

Quote, originally posted by adwpm45s definately signal problem. whenever i entered Lincoln turnnel, had same problem. Definitely in underground situations, the satellite signal will be a problem. Even when driving under bridges and overpasses (like along the Long Island Parkway in certain places, as I discovered), you sometimes lose the signal for a few minutes. In certain summer months, being under a tree might also exhibit similar signal loss ... the leaves are long enough at a particular frequency to absorb the RF signal. Known problem at cellular frequencies. Z

Quote, originally posted by NBP45 There is no auto-lock on the 08 M's...you have to manually lock and unlock. I did experience the same issue with the XM radio, where it said loading or something...it happened only once so far. It might just be something related to acquiring a signal...not sure. definately signal problem. whenever i entered Lincoln turnnel, had same problem.

Thanks for the reply. I am losing what little of my mind that I have left. I am going to drive the car more, so hopefully I will be able to keep up with how everything works. Just hate to get it dirty!

I was driving my M35 with nav the other day, and when I changed stations on the XM radio, it quit, and a message saying "reloading" appeared on the bottom of the screen. I changed stations again, and still nothing. Turned it off and on and it started working. Nav was working fine. This has happened the last two times that I have driven the car. Also, right after this happened, the auto door lock/unlock feature quit working. At least I think it quit working. When I start the car and put it in gear, the doors do not auto lock. They also do not auto unlock when I turn off the car. The exit seat and steering wheel positioning works when door is opened.Checked the manual, and couldn't find anything about this function. As I rarely drive this car, maybe I am wrong about the locks working this way, but I sure think that they did.Anyway, seems as there has been some sort of a computer glitch somewhere, and I really don't want to have to go back to the dealer, so wonder if anyone here has any ideas as to what the problem could be.
