The add-on remote start does not come with remotes at all..... hence why you would use your 350 remotes. If you really want remote start I would recommend getting a whole new system with remote start/alarm. I sell them really cheap, so it might be something to think about. By the time you buy the add-on system and then couple that with the poor range, you would be better off with a new one. A Viper 5601 or Viper 5701 would be nice choices.

Well I guess you could email me the cost for all three items, keeping in mind this is for a 2003 civic, so I will need the ignition bypass module. I can use my valet key for that correct?

The system controls the range, so a longer range remote won't even program to the system.

There is, but your range would be limited to the Viper 350HV remote..... which isn't very good. If you are only wanting to start it from less than 100 feet away then you would probably be fine.

All I can tell you is that there is something wired wrong with your starter kill relay. The yellow off the starter kill relay has to go ignition. So it would wire into the black/red ignition wire. This is the same wire you cut for your turbo timer..... so you will have to make sure you tap it into the key side of your cut. You also need to make sure the orange wire on the starter kill relay is wired to the orange wire on the main harness of the alarm.

Let me know what you find!

So uhh, when the alarm is armed isn't the starter kill relay suppose to prevent me from starting the car? I sit inside my car an arm the car and then start the car but not before the alarm goes off.

One thing you can do is use the transmitter to by-pass zone 2(shock sensor) when you arm it. Basically hit the lock button to arm it up. Hitting the button one more time within 5 seconds will bypass the shock sensor. It will chirp a second time to let you know that it did indeed bypass the shock sensor. However, it will be bypassed the whole time the car is armed up.

Or you can probably just turn the shock sensor down a tad bit. It sounds like it's set too high anyway if it's going off while your car is running. It should only go off it the car receives a decent impact to the glass.

Or there is one other thing we can try, but it will involve some wire testing on your part. So let me know if you want to try it. I would suggest trying to turn the shock sensor down a little first.

I think it was the shock sensor, because on the second time it didn't go off and on the third time it gave me 4 fast short beeps. How would you bypass the shock sensor while the car is running?

Sounds like it might be the shock sensor going off? You can try turning the shock sensor all the way down to test this theory. If that takes care of it then I will tell you how to bypass the shock sensor only while the car is running.

Toby, you are the MAN! as it turns out I had just forgot to plug the valet button harness back on. Plugged it in and the alarm worked like a charm in conjunction with the turbo timer. Now... When the alarm arms while the car is still running and the turbo timer is counting down (30 seconds), the alarm went off before the car shut down. Is this a programming issue?

Okay, so I did everything above and when I went to put the negative terminal back the alarm went off . It didn't disarm with the remote, only when I take the negative terminal back off. What could be wrong now

The cut black/red wire you will simply wire back together. You may have to extend the wires if their too short.

Now the black/yellow starter wire you will cut in half. The side that comes from the key cylinder will wire into the heavy gauge green wire from the starter kill relay. The other half of the black/yellow wire(starter side) will wire into the heavy gauge black wire from the starter kill relay.

Done!

Your guess was right! the "installers" wired up the starter kill relay on the IGN wire (blk/red). So I cut the starter wire (blk/yel) and wired the GREEN and BLACK to the blk/yel wire coming from the key cylinder. Where do I wire the blk/yel wire going to the starter? Or did I misunderstand and I was actually suppose to tap the blk and grn wires on to the starter wire? Let me guess, I was suppose to tap them into the starter wire. Oh, and the car won't start.

Then it sounds like whomever installed your alarm did it incorrectly. Sounds like the starter kill relay is on the ignition wire instead of the starter wire. You should have a single relay somewhere that has a heavy gauge green and a heavy gauge black wire coming out of it. It will also have a small yellow and small orange wire out of it. The two heavy gauge wires should interrupt your OEM black/yellow wire.... which is the starter wire out of your key cylinder. Make sure this is right..... I am guessing they cut the ignition wire instead(black/red).

Let me know what you find.

Edit: As a test you can also cut the orange wire that comes out of the main harness on the alarm. That wire is ground while armed, which triggers the starter kill relay. If you cut it then the relay won't activate. So after you cut the wire go through the whole process of letting the turbo timer activate and arm the car up. If it stays running when you arm the alarm then you know the relay is probably wired incorrectly.

I had unplugged the antenna and never plugged it in . Now it activates when the timer is on OR off, which is exactly what I wanted. BUT... when the timer is counting down and I activate the alarm, it shuts off the car, which is what I didn't want. I checked the diode while it was still in the circuit with the multimeter in the diode position and it measured 163 going both ways. I unplugged the diode along with the wires that are attached to it and with the black lead on the cathode it gave me 679, reversed the leads and it was open. So the diode is good, right? Why does it shut off the car?

Then you accidentally either blew a fuse or messed something else up with the alarm. Make sure it has power on the red wire right at the main white plug on the alarm. Make sure it has ground on the black wire at the main plug. And make sure the antenna is plugged in. It only needs those 3 things to work.

The alarm does not arm at all, even when the car is completely off. The diode's cathode is going towards pin 86.

Okay, so I fixed everything you said. Now the car turns on appropriately and the turbo timer still works when everything is hooked up to the relay, BUT the alarm does not arm. The yellow wire that I cut coming from the brain's harness is going to pin 87A but it is not arming, even when I put the yellow wire back where it was, I still get no response from the alarm. What do you think?

Well according to your schematic, the wire that you show cutting(orange hi-lighted) is the starter wire. It is a black/yellow. That would be completely wrong. The ignition is the one you want to cut. Ignition is black/red. However, you said that you cut it on the turbo timer plug-and-play harness...... so you need to make sure the wire you cut on the plug-and-play harness is the one that actually lines up with the black/red wire in the OEM harness. This would make sense that you cut the wrong wire. Also, the ignition output from the turbo timer ONLY goes to pin 86 on the relay.

Well I got the yellow wire coming from the brain's harness (it was spliced into another yellow wire that was probably going to where it is supposed to be hooked up. So there is still a yellow wire tapped into the ignition but that shouldn't matter) So there I was, everything hooked up and the key in my hand. I was sitting in the kick panel, (car in 1st gear) and turn it to the ON position just to see if it powers on. The car STARTED! (I don't have a clutch interlock relay, it used to be an auto) so I quickly shut it off and scratch my head I tried it again with me in the drivers seat and clutch disengaged and turn it to ON and it the motor cranked but wouldn't start until I turned the key to start. It started but for the first time it started "weakly". Unlike before where it would start all the way to 2k RPM's then drop to 1.5k and then idle at 1k after about 1 min and a half. Looked back at my work and I didn't reroute the turbo timer's ignition wire, I simply tapped into the turbo timer's ignition wire. Would that make it start on ON?
Oh, and when I installed the turbo timer with the harness, the timer wouldn't power up. I had to switch the 12V ignition and 12V acc on the harness so the timer would work. When I cut into the harness I went by the switched wires.

1) You will still want a 30 amp fuse on the wire for 87. This wire will have to be a heavy gauge wire...... around 14 gauge or bigger. You will need to run it directly to the battery or to the 12v constant lead at the ignition harness.

2)You are correct kind of, however, 87 and 87a are not the same. Basically, you will cut the IGN wire on your vehicle and run the key side to 87a and the other side to 30. If you extend these they need to be of the 14 gauge or bigger. Also, the IGN. source for your alarm(yellow) will also need to be tapped into the key side of the relay. This is very important as this is why this relay works..... because of where you tap the yellow Viper wire. You may be able to cut the IGN wire on your plug-and-play turbo timer harness for 30 and 87a, but it depends on where the IGN output lead from the turbo timer taps into the plug-and-play harness. If any questions, call me!!!!!

3)You will need a diode between 87a and 86. You can simply make a 4" jumper with the diode in it.

So for example: on pin 87a, I would usually have my 4" jumper wire with diode, IGN wire from key and yellow wire from the alarm all twisted together in one big female spade. So you would have 3 wires twisted together. Likewise, on pin 86, I would twist the other end of the 4" jumper and the IGN output from the turbo timer together. Note: the turbo timer IGN output will only be ran to 86 on the relay. You will no longer have the IGN output of the turbo timer connected to the IGN of the vehicle.

Ok, got a couple of noob questions for ya.

1) No need to add the 30A fuse since it's already there, right?

2) Just to be clear, the turbo timer ignition output wire will be cut on the harness, that I used for the sake of not cutting into any of the cars wires, and rewired to the relay at terminal number 30 and 87a (87 87a is the same lead, right?)

3) I will be "tapping" into the IGNITION WIRE FROM KEY and not rewiring it to the relay, right?

4) I will also be "tapping: into IGN. WIRE TO COIL, right?

Unfortunatly I cannot print that out because my email is not in their system which is preventing me from registering. I think I am fairly competent in electronics to install this relay, after all I deal with electronics all the time in my workplace.

I have a 350HV installed on my '95 240sx SE and is it possible to change the alarm settings so it can arm while the car is still running? (for the turbo timer) I already asked a local install place and they said that it couldn't be done, but the guy didn't seem to understand why I needed this option. Thanks.

You need the alarm, 2 actuators if you want power door locks, and the relay pack for the actuators. This would run you $179 shipped. If you don't care about making your door locks power, then it would just be $159 shipped for the 1002.

I have a base model 1991 with 0 power options, my door locks on either side only work when they are manually actuated.which stuffs do I need? i'm looking at the 1002 how much for all the stuffs ,ship to 92683
