Man, you are an inspiration. My father just beat his battle with thyroid cancer and Im just praying nothing comes back around.
Its really made me realize how important he is to me.
Im starting my V8 swap this spring hes going to be helping me.

Just an amazing thing here Jerry, your car and story are what being a car enthusiast is supposed to be about!
My Dad was also not much of a car nut although he drag raced when he was a youngster, which was my inspiration to begin my journey of owning fast and interesting cars. He and my Mother especially disliked them all but supported me against their wishes, obviously wanting me to be happy and to enjoy my passion. THANKFULLY Dad is still with me and even got to drive my Z when it needed some work, and he also picked it up when it was done and I was unable to personally handle it all due to excessive work schedule...I asked him if he got on it and tried out it's capabilities, to which he said "No"- I HOPE like hell he lied, as I did when he asked if I beat up the family cars growing up and I regularly did!
I am now 45 and finally deciding to make my Z into what I would like it to be, whenever I can find the time and $ to do what is needed.
Your story and BEAUTIFUL Z keep me focused on that goal!!!

When shopping for a Z32 check it over just like any other used sports car but also see if you can get maintenance history. The 60k and 120k services are vital so try to make sure they were done and done on time.

lots of threads here on Nico about modding your car.. I'd say if you want to keep it simple.. go with JWT intake, exhaust (at least cat-back, possibly full), ECU tune, and lightweight pulleys.. These popular upgrades will add a decent amount of power while still keeping the car very streetable and without breaking the bank.

First of all i'd like to say that your post is incredible, and inspirational. Thanks for sharing.

I once owned a stock 1991 300ZX TT. It was awsome. I kept it stock and clean for the 3 yrs I had it, and I still got a lot of attention. I got married and the birth of our 2nd child convinced me that it was time to get an SUV. So I sold my Z. I am now ready to get another TT Z. What in your opinion is the best year ? I'd like to keep it as stock as possibel but I definately like what you did with yours. What are the best mods to increase the cars's quickness since Z's are rather heavy ? Why get rid of the HICAS system ? what other modz would you suggest, keeping in mind that I would like to retain the "stock" look as much as possible ?

Sup Jerry I'm new to the Club searching around for answer by way sweet Z man. I'm having a problem with mine right now it just wong start up I left it out for 2 months not starting it now it wong start and there no power to it also man It a 1990 twin turbo 5 speed try checking a lot of things out on it but have no clue. I have no power to anything at all in the car any suggestion really need some help man. I'll be great if you can point out somethings for me on what to do.
