It's just another option pretty much it, and it is more adaptable for a turbo since it only reads air coming in one way. But I guess it's just mostly for one extra option. Like I got mine for free from a buddy of mine.

Supra guys swap out the MAF because they are very restrictive...they work well though. The 300ZX MAF is still your best bet for high hp, but I would like to play with one of the Supra MAFs and see what differences it makes in driveability.Good thread. I'll sticky it as per request Mike.*Edit* Upon rethinking that statement, I don't see why we would have any issues with the Supra MAF. As far as restriction goes that is. The 2JZ IIRC uses the stock MAF till around 500WHP. So thats more then enough flow for us.WD

wiring is easy, there is 5 pins on the maf 3 are for maf sensor and 2 are for intake air temperature ,im going to look later for exact wires but like in s14 maf u only need to hook up 3 wires , 12 v , ground from ecu and signal , as for how is the tuning effected , i just love how you can can run this maf really close to turbo and not get any false readings even when turbo is surging ( my z32 maf would get major amount of false reading when turo was surging sending afr to like 9.9 ) now is much better , the z32 maf was design to sit so far from turbos or throttle body in n/a that is not even funny , i was looking at my friend's 94 300zx and he has it at at least 5ft from throttle body to maf , so no wonder this maf is sensitive becouse it was not design to be so close to turbo , on the other hand check pictures of supra maf , this thing is built right , so other than being more accurate i think there is no real big changes

The 2jz maf isn't really bulky at all. It actually looks smaller than a z32, but pictures can be deceiving. I don't see why you couldn't use it. If you have a diagram of which wires are what, or even the sensor that plugs into the maf, you could use an safc2 or emanage to change the hotwire settings. As long as it uses the same basic wires a z32 does, I say go for it and let us know.

I'll bet you could also use a 3sgte (MR2 turbo, 2nd gen) AFM also. The only problem with them I see is the size. They're a bit bulky.Let us know how it goes. I hope you get it set up real nice.

I am not quite sure about the in's and out's but why would you want to do that Wouldn't they be harder to find and more expensive than an N60 or N62 Also, you would be working through all of the tuning on your own. I don't know that it is worth doing, but would anyone else like to say anything
