It's the same part and part number from the 07-09 SE-R Spec V. He's been trying used car parts shops and junk yards and no luck. Does anyone know a place were he could buy a OEM one new or used and even an aftermarket one the does the similar if not better performance job then the stock HLSD Any help is thankful .Ricky C.

AC taking out Alternator/Crankshaft Vibration

I have a 97 Sentra GXE with over 160K miles. With two issues.First:When ever I turn on the AC within seconds both the Batt and Brake lights kick on. Alternator was pulled and checked at Autozone as being good. While I had the alternator out I replaced both belts as the old ones were looking bad.I suspect one of the following:Bad CompressorBad Compressor ClutchLow Charge in CompressorSecond:The large pully on the crankshaft which powers the alternator and compressor has an audible rattle to it. If you watch it you can see it vibrate. It did not do this before I changed the belts (at least I don't think it did)Is this related in any way to my first problem or is this something elseAny help would be great.Thanks--Paul

Primera trans in 99 G20

I'm helping my friend change the tranny in his automatic 99 G20, because there is no reverse. We picked up a JDM Primera tranny from a place in Jersey. The Primera trans has a kickdown cable, and the G20 doesn't. I'm guessing it's electric. Is there any way to make this workAlso, the US driver side axle and seal, look larger on his G20 than on the new tranny. I've read that the LSD and non-LSD axles are different, but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How To: B15 Rad Flush

its not that hard, considering i had never done it and called around shops were charging $90-190 + materials/fluids at some as wellMaterials1 Jug of green coolant (don't get the mixed/premixed or anything like that, the newer stuff has some corrosive materials in it, do it right the first time)1 Jug of deionized watermix them 1/1 that'll give you the correct ratio and -37 celsius usage (good for up here!)Toolsfriends with beer8mm 10mm socket(i replaced my lower rad hose cuz it was leaking $18 @ stealership - cheaper than any parts store, very surprised)bucket to catch your used fluidsgarden hose Instructionson the bottom of the rad there is a butterfly (plastic - make sure when you tighten back up not to over tighten), loosen and drain all the fluid outfrom topfrom bottomrelease the lower rad hose beside butterfly screw, let drain whatever else from the engine comes outtake your rad cap off and put your garden hose in there and flush it out with waternext take the rad hose off by the rad cap and flush out the engine with the garden hose as well let drainnow before the the funremove your over flow jug on the left side of the engine baythere is a screw at the bottom near the front of it and drain that puppy out with the garden hose as well, put back when donenow you're all drained turn your car on so the thermostat opens up so all the fluid can run through the enginethere is a engine air plug that should be opened now so there will be no air bubbles when pouring in the new rad coolant you mixed earlierput all your hoses back and screw the butterfly plug backyou'll need about 6L of your mixed fluid to put back in through the rad cap entry, pour slowly no need to waste, if you get bubbles then take your timeafter it won't fill no more or you're close to your 6L close that engine air plug back upturn the car on and let it run and suck all the fluids through the rad, turn your heat on full blast it will blow cold for 15mins when hot then you know all the fresh fluid had gone though and you are completego for a drive and check the overfill jug if it has taken any and keep an eye on it for a couple dayssince i've done mine i've maybe added 1 cup of mixnow where's those beers

04 1.8S stalled at light, freak occurance or is a repair coming

After running a few errands, my 04 1.8S stumbled and stalled while stopped at a stoplight. It restarted right away but I kept the revs up until the light changed. I just filled up with gas earlier in the day, and there were no warning lights or unusual behavior. It's a manual and it was in neutral when this happened. And after that, no other strange behavior. Could this just be a one time thing, or is there some part that may be on its way out I had to get the engine rebuilt 6 months ago, and 3 months ago the fuel pressure regulator was replaced. Not very happy here.

I was looking for a used car and interested in a 2004 Nissan sentra 1.8s car. However, i found when i turn on the engine, the ABS check light is not on. The owner told me cuz the car has no ABS. I wonder if this is true. If no ABS equipped, why there is a ABS indicator on the panel sorry i do not have much knowledge in vehicles.Thanks.

Does anyone know whats wrong with my spec v rough idle...power loss

Hello Nico club. I need help. I have had my 03 spec v for about a year now and i love the car...when its runnin good. When I baught the car it had a slightly rough idle but it ran great and it didnt seem like a serious problem. Not too long ago i made the mistake of trying to clean my throttle body and ended up having to replace it...tps(tb). It took me a good while to get the problem fixd and durring that time the idle got worse. Now after the fix my idle still sux, sometimes its just a little high and sometimes it trys to stall out but its always rough. I have a huge power loss and the car makes some stupid buzzing/whining noise through first and second gear. O i have also replaced the MAF sensor like 4 or 5 times. two of which they sent me the wrong one. My car has thrown codes like multiple missfire, and intake air temp sensor high output. when i cleard them they didnt come back. now my car shows no codes. I took it to the dealer and they told me to replace the pcv valve and i did but no good. now the rpm's will jump around(between 1000 and 2000) while coasting to a stop wthout taking it outa gear(just pushing in clutch). Also my obdII says fuel system closed loop. My throttle pos is at 1% at idle...and my intake air temp says around 150 degrees...if any of that helps. I heard it could be something with the current my IAT sensor is sending to the TPS. I also heard it could be my cat. I have an aftermarket intake, header and exhaust. I have also noticed that this is a common problem with this car and if there is anyone out there that knows what it is or how I can fix it...without spending a fortune at Nissan...then PLEASE let me know. Thanks

B16 6spd Hesitation

I'm having an issue in my 2007 Sentra where when accelerating from a stop, I'll frequently get the car to buck once before accelerating smoothly. I thought it was my driving technique and getting used to a new clutch, but now after owning the car several months I can see it doesn't seem to be my fault. To avoid this from happening I have to either give a lot of gas, or let out the clutch really slowly, or both, which is slipping the clutch a lot more than I would like to. What's interesting, is that I tried doing the "idle reset" procedure listed on this site, and after resetting and letting the car idle, it will behave for the rest of that drive (no bucking). But as soon as I turn the car off and on again, the issue starts again.Any ideas The only things I have tried are the idle reset and a mild cleaning of the throttle body. Do these cars have throttle position sensors

I just bought a 1997 200sx SE-R. This is my first nissan and i'm having trouble figuring out whats wrong with it. My car intermediatly wont go over 2000 rpm. I have a check engine light with the following codes: 0102 Mass airflow sensor/circuit, 0205 IACV/AAC valve, 0401 Intake air temperture sensor. I've checked all of my vacuum lines and they all look good. I've heard that it could be a ground wire, but i dont know where to look, or which one it might be. Please Help me!!!! Thankyou

update/build thread 200sx se-r

ok so im the one with the blown sr20 that my moms responsible for member. so i finally got another engine and started my project. heres wats been goin on in a sequence. keep in mind its my first project and im learning as i go. so if u got a suggestion kool im all ears, if u disagree wit ne thing, ehh ok heres an update... bare with me as i might leave some pics out. im almost done btw just gota reinstall some things (axles, wheels, minor engine parts etc etc.)grab a chair and some pop corn ok so rite when i started workin on it...Next she needed a wash just to keep her spirits up..not me in this pic btwso after the wash...you can see my friends Z in the reflection..dnt be fooled tho it has some paint damage from sitting in the sun for about 2.5 years.. So after some irritating phone calls, shop visits, emails, and more visits i had no luck finding an engine i felt comfortable buying. I had some uber bad luck!! then i found a shop that claims to import engines from japan with less than 80k miles.. well they were sellin me an sr20de for $600.00 delivered.(only like 25 miles from shop) but they suggested i replace, rear main seal, HEAD GASKET , other seals i cant member which ones, well truth is i cant member how much they told me 2 replace cus there was a list i was like oh hell no! i was gona have 2 like put in way 2 much $$ on their engine so i skipped them. then after like another 2 months of hunting one down (note: i was aware of sites such as tigerjapanese.com but i am on a budget, had to be local) i found one on craigslist for $390. a red top. so i was like waaaah! no way! wats the catch rite! i go see the engine, still in the guys b13 se-r. so we went for a test drive. engine was strong i was convinced i wanted it and was determined 2 buy it. he was selling it to install his SR20DET he bought,.. so he was gona have this one as a spare. i quickly ran 2 the bank and pulled out some $$ for a down, but my parents yelled at me not to untill my dad saw the engine himself.. that a**whole! i want the engine now! so finally after like a day or 2 we go back, im redy! so he tests drive the engine, and approves ok so now im negotiating, whens the engine coming out(2days time he says) good good i concur. may i be present ( uh uhh sure) kool! and as for the receipt.....(huh a receipt! im not a store why u need a receipt how u know i am who i say i am!! wats the receipt for!) and im like woh woh calm down man, its just kinda; u know, just normal and a good idea. (what are you planning on taking me to court) and im like no its just my personal insurance.... then it doesnt help to have my dads input on this at this point as its my deal and im negotiating, he makes the seller more mad. so i left that day w/o an engine and a heated temper. my facial expression... (this is a horrible joke rite!!) so anyway about a week later, that seller gives me a call and apologizes 2 me, and agrees 2 write me a receipt. so after that last time, i was skeptical but make a long story short i bought the engine. it is a red top, someone tried 2 paint it tho. so it looks like crap, but ill repaint it later. sorry for the long story but i thought it was necessary so u can feel my frustration and happiness. so any way back to the build. heres a few pics of the engine... so thats it sitting in my back yard as im pulling out the blown engine. so next is some pics of the whole process. i didnt get as many pics as i wanted as i could only use my phone, and my hands were pretty greased up most of the time. but ne ways here they are.so i was unable 2 get pics of the engine as it was goin in, but u can see that in other peoples builds. like i said im almost done, but i still got tons of work 2 do. member that the car has been non opp for about 2.5 years, when i get it running i gota make sure the springs are still good, check for things that might have just rotted away. but my plans are to buy some coilovers and drop it about 1.5-2.0 inch drop. eventually i want some Enkei evo5s. no body kits. maybe later on but i doubt it. im gona paint my fog lights yellow, for the jdm look. i know what ur thinking, its gona look wack. but no it wont, my friend alredy did it and it looks like real jdm fog lights. just a process. pics of that when i get to it. some HID front lights as well. as for the engine, i wana turbo it when i get the $$, upgrade my tranny for that, ofcourse gota buy all the goodies that u need when goin turbo.. better ECU, some strut bars, and a real intake. undrdrive pulleys, adv ignition timing. JWT or BC cams. I already have a 2.5 Greddy superdragger exhaust so yes i mean all this is will come in time lol not rite away i really wish i had all these parts in by 2morrw but in the world we live in, its tuff. im in college and just got hired at autozone so i hope i can get parts at a good discount so i can keep my project in motion. as soon as i get the car running more pics r comin! any mods i install,.. r gona be photographed. so for now that it but let me know what u guys think,..special thanks to DMeN Z, 2dr_sentra, likethemovies, and everyone who has helped me with my build

I had some uber bad luck!!
then i found a shop that claims to import engines from japan with less than 80k miles.. well they were sellin me an sr20de for $600.00 delivered.(only like 25 miles from shop) but they suggested i replace, rear main seal, HEAD GASKET , other seals i cant member which ones, well truth is i cant member how much they told me 2 replace cus there was a list i was like oh hell no! i was gona have 2 like put in way 2 much $$ on their engine so i skipped them. then after like another 2 months of hunting one down (note: i was aware of sites such as tigerjapanese.com but i am on a budget, had to be local) i found one on craigslist for $390. a red top. so i was like waaaah! no way! wats the catch rite?!? i go see the engine, still in the guys b13 se-r. so we went for a test drive. engine was strong i was convinced i wanted it and was determined 2 buy it. he was selling it to install his SR20DET he bought,.. so he was gona have this one as a spare. i quickly ran 2 the bank and pulled out some $$ for a down, but my parents yelled at me not to untill my dad saw the engine himself.. that a**whole! i want the engine now! so finally after like a day or 2 we go back, im redy! so he tests drive the engine, and approves ok so now im negotiating, whens the engine coming out?(2days time he says) good good i concur. may i be present? ( uh uhh sure?) kool! and as for the receipt.....(huh a receipt?! im not a store why u need a receipt? how u know i am who i say i am??!! wats the receipt for?!) and im like woh woh calm down man, its just kinda; u know, just normal and a good idea. (what are you planning on taking me to court?) and im like no its just my personal insurance.... then it doesnt help to have my dads input on this at this point as its my deal and im negotiating, he makes the seller more mad. so i left that day w/o an engine and a heated temper. my facial expression... (this is a horrible joke rite!!) so anyway about a week later, that seller gives me a call and apologizes 2 me, and agrees 2 write me a receipt. so after that last time, i was skeptical but make a long story short i bought the engine. it is a red top, someone tried 2 paint it tho. so it looks like crap, but ill repaint it later. sorry for the long story but i thought it was necessary so u can feel my frustration and happiness. so any way back to the build.
heres a few pics of the engine...

so thats it sitting in my back yard as im pulling out the blown engine.
so next is some pics of the whole process. i didnt get as many pics as i wanted as i could only use my phone, and my hands were pretty greased up most of the time. but ne ways here they are.

so i was unable 2 get pics of the engine as it was goin in, but u can see that in other peoples builds. like i said im almost done, but i still got tons of work 2 do. member that the car has been non opp for about 2.5 years, when i get it running i gota make sure the springs are still good, check for things that might have just rotted away. but my plans are to buy some coilovers and drop it about 1.5-2.0 inch drop. eventually i want some Enkei evo5s. no body kits. maybe later on but i doubt it. im gona paint my fog lights yellow, for the jdm look. i know what ur thinking, its gona look wack. but no it wont, my friend alredy did it and it looks like real jdm fog lights. just a process. pics of that when i get to it. some HID front lights as well. as for the engine, i wana turbo it when i get the $$, upgrade my tranny for that, ofcourse gota buy all the goodies that u need when goin turbo.. better ECU, some strut bars, and a real intake. undrdrive pulleys, adv ignition timing. JWT or BC cams. I already have a 2.5 Greddy superdragger exhaust so yes i mean all this is will come in time lol not rite away i really wish i had all these parts in by 2morrw but in the world we live in, its tuff. im in college and just got hired at autozone so i hope i can get parts at a good discount so i can keep my project in motion. as soon as i get the car running more pics r comin! any mods i install,.. r gona be photographed. so for now that it but let me know what u guys think,..
special thanks to DMeN Z, 2dr_sentra, likethemovies, and everyone who has helped me with my build

Any idea.....

Ok, so long story short, I got a 94 Sentra from a dealership around here, and the fact that I have no idea if it's a SE-R or not has been bugging me for quite awhile. Not even sure if any SE-Rs even have a GA16DE in 'em. Also, even if it's not a SE-R, is it still possible to make it as fast as one I've been considering making into a project car once I can get the funds, so it might help to know if it's even worth the time and expense considering the fact that it's probably not a SE-R.

04 Sentra 1.8

hello, new guy here.My girl's car is a 04 sentra 1.8 auto. She has a couple problems with her car. and I am trying to see if I can get some of it fixed when she is gone for a while. One problem is that her OD shift button has a mind of its own. it seems to be at the shifter area that is causing it because you can wiggle the shifter and it will change from on to off. but the bad part is it does it when driving too. making it shift from 3rd to 4th a lot, which I can only imagine is not good for the trans. how do I go about fixing itproblem two is a while ago she got the oil changed and the mechanic said that she could have a blown head gasket. because there seems to be "some" coolant coming out and is baking on the motor leaving a green mark between piston one and two(left to right). but I have not noticed any more coming out nor a loss in coolant. the car does not puff white, it has lots of power. the motor has approx. 55 k on the clock. is there something else that could cause the green mark if I take the plugs out, what should I be looking for on the plugs to indicate a blown gasket taking the plugs out is just as easy as anything else right Thanks, Matt

Radio and speaker problems on my 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE...Please help! :)

I have a 2002 nissan sentra gxe. This question is about my speakers (and possibly deck). I bought my car from a dealer in 2004, it had 22000km on it, so it wasn't new. It has 2 speakers in the back (20W) and 2 speakers in the front door panels, with 2 column tweeters. I was told that my system was supposedly a Rockford Fosgate, and it looks like online pictures of similar sentras with RF systems, but nowhere on my deck or anywhere in my vehicle does it say Rockford Fosgate on it. Additionally, I started to hear my back driver-side speaker start to crack, and then suddenly couple months later, the whole driver-side went very very low (almost no sound). I assumed that I had blown my speakers, so I purchased Alpine S-Types, two for the back, and 2 for the front with separate tweeters. My friend helped install them and splice the wiring to connect everything up. However, even with new speakers all around (except for the tweeters, which we were too scared to install the Alpine ones because we didn't know how to remove the stock ones) the sound coming out of the speakers is still weird. For example - with radio on, my driver side is quieter than my passenger side. Using an FM transmitter and my Ipod, the driver side is so quiet it might as well be considered no sound. BUT, oddly enough, when I'm using my CD player function, the driver side is crystal clear and good volume, and the passenger side is now the one that is dead sound (very very very low). I looked online, and someone else had similar symptoms and was told that it was an IC (IC what is that) problem. Can anyone help me with this What need I do to get my car audio back on track Where should I take it Can I do it myself Need I buy a new deck Thanks....

2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8S Headgasket Replacement Questions

I'm replacing the head gasket in my 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8s myself. I got a quote from the dealership for a head gasket replacement kit for $106.52. I've found some online sources asking between approximately $70 and $100. Can anyone recommend any reputable parts sources on the internet for Nissan Sentra head gasket replacement kits, or is it best to purchase one from a dealer Also, While I have the top half of my engine apart is there anything else I should replace while I have the chance Thanks for your help.

P0430 - SES light came on after header install. Any help

Alright so I just recently installed a new header on my 08 spec-v. After about 30 miles the SES light came on. I reset the ECU, drove about another 30 miles and the SES light came back on. Its thrown DTC code P0430 which is something like "catalyst effeciency below threshhold, bank 2". Now heres the thing, ive been reading about this anti fouler trick that could work but everyone doing this trick is putting them on the 02 sensor past the actual cat converter. I do not have an 02 sensor past my cat converter. Four o2 bungs on the stock exhaust manifold, and 4 on the new header. Can this be applied to an o2 sensor that is on the header itself I have a factory service manual for the sentra's 07-09, and it clearly stats that there is a pre cat in the stock manifold. The new header I replaced it with definately does not have a pre cat. Any ideas on what I should do

Critter in my squirrell cage.

My buddy has a 200 sx and it has sat for awhile due to an evap problem and all we can guess is that a critter crawled up in his vent system and died. I believe it is in the blower cage because when he turns it on it makes a noise and has an awful smell. My question is this, how hard is it to take the cage out to remove said dead critter on a 1996 200 and what to use to kill the smell. Thanx for any info.

Bought the Sentra. Just failed Emissions

It had code P0420: Catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1Any idea what this means I had it inspected at a Nissan dealership before I bought it, guess they didn't run codes on it. Fail. The guy told me that the exhaust was bent, probably from hitting a bump or going over a curb. Didn't think it was a big deal. This is probably what is causing it to fail. Possibly a leak even though I cannot hear it. Input please. Also, the nice gentlemen at the test station told me the check engine light was burned out on the dash. I assume I have to drop the steering column to get to it. Is this correct Thanks guys. Got the guy down to 2200 for the car, thought it was a good deal. I'm hoping the emissions repairs are fairly minimal.

here's the problem.its a 2002 sentra, the driver side taillight turns on fine when the brake pedal is pressed and the parking/head lights are off, but when the head/parking lights are on then driver side taillight turns off, doesn't work, essentially the high beam tail light, doesnt work.anybody knows what could be wrong i checked all the fuses and they're fine, also checked/replaced the brake bulbs, my guess is bad wiring.

1998 Sentra Max tire/wheel size

I was wondering what everyone is running as far as wheel and tire sizes go on Nissan Sentras Currently I am running 205/50r15. I was wondering if it is even adviseable to move up to a 55 or 60 series tire The reason I ask is because I am looking to replace the tires due to wear soon and the 55/60 series tires tend to be a little cheaper. Any suggestions

Occasional power loss - 08 SpecV

Hello all! I've been reading the forum for a while, but still have not posted pics or replied to many threads. Pics coming *soon*... I have owned this 08 SpecV since June, and am loving it. The only issue that I have is that occasionally, I experience drastic power loss between 2k and 2900 RPM. It happens randomly a few times a week. I read up on the QR25DE a little, and was wondering if this could be the "power valve screws/butterfly screws" in the intake manifold Any thoughts Thanks in advance! -M
