I need help (crust, anarcho, punk...)

The song "Angel of Death" by Slayer is covered by a punk band. Now I'm pretty sure it's either Potential Threat, Chumbawamba, or Omega Tribe. But I can't find the song for the life of me. The song starts out with a woman talking about the holocaust and then the song breaks in.I lost the cd I had with the song on it, and it's not on my computer. I have searched continuously and haven't found anything. If any of you guys and or gals have any knowledge on who this can be and where I can get the song I would appreciate it very much. Thanks

Bluesy/Rock band from Ohio that I heard nearly a year ago now and over the past 3 months have become entranced by. Two dudes ought not be able to make this much noise.I have most of their albums now I believe (except Thickfreakness), and they're effing amazing. There's hardly ever a song I genuinely want to skip, which is rare for me. I'm in the process of putting together a "best of" CD for my car and I'm seriously having issues cutting songs out even being short an album.I just picked up Attack & Release (their latest, and a bit of a departure from the previous ones due to production by Danger Mouse) and... well turn it up...http://www.youtube.com/watchv=9mRshih9jj4 (they did several Abbey Road recordings, all of which are pretty cool)http://www.youtube.com/watchv=mBPGm4Fbo0Qhttp://www.youtube.com/watchv=dKXlgISd3iA (weird video with a moment of humor thrown in)Admittedly, it's not the most technical music on earth, nor are the lyrics terribly revolutionary, but it all sounds bloody fantastic. I can't stand all this whiny crap out there. I don't mind sad lyrics, I actually rather like them, but screamy whiners and "how many notes can I play in one second" shredfests make my ears bleed. They're often compared to The White Stripes, but, IMO, these guys are more generally listenable song-to-song. I particularly like the lyrical style - it reminds me of Hendrix.edit: And now they're taking over the world... or something... http://www.blakroc.com/videos.html

New Godsmack single "Whiskey Hangover"

So, I got an e-mail from Godsmack.com the other day talking about the new single and new tour with Crue Fest.Went to the website to listen to the single and I really don't know what to think. It seems that Godsmack has kinda made a turn towards the mainstreem hard rock/metal scene instead of being a band that experimented with it's music. And yes, I know some people think that they ripped off AIC, but that's neither here nor there at this point in their game. They have established themselves as a compitent band.BUT....Listening to the new single, I am hearing music not much different than what was on IV. The song title and lyrics seem a bit...how would I say...not as passionate as previous offerings from Godsmack. In my opinion, their best works were the first and second albums. Great music on those two CDs. Faceless and IV were good, but just didn't seem as good as they could have been. Oh well, I guess I just like setting myself up for dissapointment from my favorite bands lately...Here's a link to a YouTube page that has the song.http://www.youtube.com/watchv=xSPNbJS-ye4

banjo

Looking to find the most economical way for someone who wants to try learning the banjo. She's 10 years old, very little experience playing around with a keyboard but loves music. We're going to be going cross country in the car so I'm open to picking one up for her along the 10 or 40 freeways anywhere between here and Florida or Georgia but I have no idea what kind to get her (4, 5 or 6 string, small necked travel banjo or longer necked, etc.)Decent quality but low budget is really the key; there are no guarantees she'll stay with it and I don't want to be out a bunch of money if she bails on it. If she does stay with it I want her to be able to use the same one for a while.Any suggestions

The Chemical Brothers

Great music.I only have their "Push The Button" and "We Are The Night" albums but from what Ive heard... AGH they rock.I was addicted to "Surface To Air" off of "Push The Button" for a long while and still kind of am... It makes you feel happy or something."Battle Scars" off of "We Are The Night" is a great song although I think the chorus (the part that goes "Here come battle scars") could have been different. The vocals remind me a bit of Johnny Cash."The Pills Wont Help You Now" off "We Are The Night" has a calming feeling to it and is very nice overall."Push The Button" is a brilliant album. If you want to get into The Chmeical Brothers I think that is where you should start.

reco for first bass guitar

Hey guys, I'm dying to learn to play bass. Ive played with some friends on several occasions, and because theyre all drummers (Dattebayo) or guitarists (not Dattebayo, LOL!) I usually end up trying to play along on the bass. I am definitely improving in those few and far between occasions I get to play.Ive been looking around this spring trying to find a nice used bass. I'm BROKE so cheap is my biggest goal. Ive seen Squires on cragislist for about $150. Seems like a good deal, especially if I can grab one for less than that. Any other cheaper brands I should be looking for Seen some Ibanez 4 strings for $200.About the amp, do I have to find a bass amp My buddy says regular guitar amps cant handle the bass and will burn out or something. Is this true I just need something small for my apartment. Wont be playing for a crowd anytime soon.I understand pawn shops are good places to look. But the shop by school has a horrible selection that hasnt changed all spring. Havent looked in any other shops though...

ok a lil history. i decided to start a cover band out of boredom about 2 years ago and we ended up playing 3 gigs, one paid and the other 2 were for benifits. the bass player started a family and a 2nd job and i didnt want to continue the band because half of the songs he sang, other half were mine. now i HATE the normal cover songs you hear at a bar like the 70's rock, stupid brown eyed girl, tragically hip, none of that. we covered jeremy, bad girlfriend, different stuff.fast forward to 2 days ago...(8 month break)drummer calls me up and found a bass player and a guitarist (which i was trying to find so i can do vocals 100%) and wants to start up the band again. i need some ideas on what stuff would work well at a bar. heres a list ive been working on the past few days. somebody to shove - soul asylumhomecoming queen - hindersanta monica - theory of a deadmanaddicted - saving abelbad girlfriend - theory of a deadmansilent lucidity - queensrycheinside out - eve 6by the way - red hot chili peppersratt - round and roundratt - lay it downfall out boy - sugar were going down swinging motley crue - saints of los angelescheap trick - surrenderbruce springstien - im going downduran duran - hungry like the wolfdirty little secret - all american rejectsincubus - wish you were hereparalyzer - finger 11fuel - shimmergoo goo dolls - long way downlit - my own worst enemybilly talent - try honestythe outfield - i dont wanna lose your love tonightu2 - priderev theory - hell yeapoison - fallen angelsaliva - alwaysdrowning pool - let the bodies hit the floorfoo fighters - everlongjust a start but i need more ideas, im running dry, and thats after axeing about 50 songs that were in our old set list.

im coming to a point where i need to be spending more money on my car. i am really motivated to get it done but im not going to ruin my life going into debt in this economy over stuff i dont really need. that leaves me with getting rid of stuff i already have for cash to spend on it.i have 5 guitars that i play about every day. there are 2 i would never consider selling, the les paul engagement gift from my fiancee and the takamine electric/acoustic i got as a graduation present. the others are an epiphone acoustic that i got for free, i like it but im not attached to it. i have a cheap ibanez pf acoustic that i was screwing around with styling. its complete and strung now though. lastly there is the peavey starter electric that i have had since i was a kid. probably not even worth selling. most i could make is like $200 but that would probably help with the parts i need to buy for the car, at least in part. since they are relatively cheap and disposable i could buy more later... but for only $200 seems like its not worth it.what would you do have you sold guitars for parts and regretted it

Selling a guitar

Well I got this form a trade form my friends dad. Short story, my attempt to learn to play is at a halt and I need money to drop onto my car. I posted it up for 300obo on criagslist earlier today and someone offered me 200. Should I sell From what I researched it's a Jackson Dinky Reverse professional, so it was made somewhere in the early 90s. Doesn't seem to me U.S made (they say U.S made is better) as it only has a 6 digit serial number, 302687, and it doesn't say where it was made at. Any guitar gurus know if i should let it go for 200 It has its scratches and couple tiny cracks.

I posted it up for 300obo on criagslist earlier today and someone offered me 200. Should I sell? From what I researched it's a Jackson Dinky Reverse professional, so it was made somewhere in the early 90s. Doesn't seem to me U.S made (they say U.S made is better)
as it only has a 6 digit serial number, 302687, and it doesn't say where it was made at.

Any guitar gurus know if i should let it go for 200? It has its scratches and couple tiny cracks.

Disintegration album

I just got the Cures disintegration album and it is by far the best album the band has ever released. Though the sounds are pretty similar in each song, the lyrics kept me pretty captivated. I know im late seeing as the album was released in '89 but i thought i would shed light on a great album like that. hopefully people agree with my opinions as well.
