Squealing noise when making extreme sharp turns

My Qx56 makes this high squealing noise, when I apply gas to a very sharp turn. This only happens if I have the steering wheel turned all the way left/right, and i apply gas...or even when it's just rolling. At first I assumed it was because of the size of the car....but doesnt anyone get this as well Is this normal

Fuel capacity

I just purchased a large travel trailer I pull with my Armada. Fuel range as expected was cut in half, unladen I can travel about 400 + miles highway on a full tank. With the trailer I can go about 150 + or - a few miles to 1/4 tank (wouldn't want to risk going beond that and running out of gas). The Nissan Titan long bed has a 37 gallon fuel tank, will it fit the Armada, has anyone tried to increase capacity on an ArmadaModified by webturtle at 6:27 PM 11/16/2009

New owner of a 2007 QX56 - steering wheel question

Hello all, I just purchased a 2007 QX56 black/tan with 21k miles and really love the vehicle so far. However, I have a few questions for you after not finding much via a search. I noticed at night that the buttons/controls on the steering wheel do not illuminate, but they do on my buddy's 2008. Is this a problem with my car or did they not come like that in 2007. My steering wheel is part wood, but my buddies is all leather. Just curious. Also, I have read other posts about DVD assembly rattles and/or rattles in general around that area. My car was purchased new at the dealership that I bought it from used. Apparently the dealer agreed to put in a DVD after the sale since it didn't come factory but it was done through the dealer or one of their post sale installers. (even though the assembly comes factory right) I have noticed a lot of rattles that come from the DVD and shaking in general. It seems as if the whole unit moves with bumps in the road and I've read that others have had this issue and thought theirs were not clipped properly Have others had this problem and had it fixed. I have not noticed it on the 2008 I drove for a weekend.Lastly, I know there is an AUX funtion in the 2007 but I can't find the input. I have to believe we can play an ipod/mp3 through a normal headphone jack input right (not through NAV screen but just through the stereo speakers directly)Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.jlindy

Hitch Wiring Adapter Question

My towing experience is limited. I have a trailer that uses a 4 Flat connector. I have looked online to find an adapter for my 2010 Armada (factory hitch), but I cannot figure out what kind I have. Mine has 6 flat pins in a round housing. I see 6 round, 7-RV, and 7 round. Can someone tell me what kind of connector I have and what it is I'm looking for

Satellite ready or not

Hi there,I am new to this forum, but have had great experiences at other forums. I just purchased my wife a 2006 QX56 and it has a satellite setting on the radio, but when we try to tune to the satellite area to get the ser# to register with Sirius it just searches with no results. When I brought it to the dealer to get some warranty work done, I asked about this and was told a new module needed to be ordered. Two weeks later I received a call and was told my vehicle was not set up for satellite and it would cost me $650 to do so. How can I tell if they are trying to take advantage of me to save the $650 in warranty repairs My warranty runs out in 3 more weeks!! Help please. Thanks,ED

2nd Row Captains Chairs vs. Bench

My wife and I are going to buy a new QX56 next week and the dealer has one of each for the 2nd Row.We have two kids ages 4 months and 21 months and we're trying to figure out which would be better. We'd love to be able to get to the 3rd row if its not loaded with strollerts, etc. But at the same time the middle of the bench in our MDX has been a bit useful if not cramped.I'd also like to hear what others have had installed in their QX's. I'm thinking a remote starter, hard-wired inverter for AC power...and I can't think of anything else. So please let me know what you guys have found useful. Thanks again.

2010 Platinum....isn't really that Platinum

Don't get me wrong, I like the vehicle. Noot sure that I love it, just yet...and here's why:As I told the salesperson, I decided on the Armada because it was the closest thing to what I wanted, but I was VERY disappointed that the Armada does not come with several of the features that came with my 2009 Murano LE. Specifically:*No Rainsense wipers - this one really drives me crazy*No IPOD connect - means I have to run two cables to my iPhone to use it for music, one for power one for sound, and no steering wheel controls*Switch instead of push button start - not a huge deal, but the button is so much more convienent*No power steering adjusment - Come on, is this a luxury vehicle or not*Sound system deficiency - Not quite a clear as my Murano*Steering wheel controls are lacking - Not near as many options as the Murano, specifically no button that will connect to the phone if it's disconnected

How do I know the 2010 Armada Platinum FFV I have is FLEX FUEL

Hi everyone ... newbie here! I bow and respect you all way up front, and I hope I am not asking a very stupid question!!!My wife and I just bought the 2010 Nissan Armada Platinum edition in Minneapolis, MN...and I must say that after a careful comparison with the Infiniti QX56, for my wife it came down to things like Regular Unleaded gas and Flex Fuel. (For me, the decision for the Armada came down to the better price, better front grill design, and the fact that it had all the same interior luxury options as the QX56).However, I recently tried to find EVIDENCE that my edition is actually FLEX FUEL (Since there is no badge on the body of the vehicle indicating FFV), and I'm not sure where to look. The sales guy told us it was Flex Fuel, but that has not proven to be enough for my wife. Where can I find evidence on the vehicle itself that this car is actually an FFV model so I can prove to the wife that all is well If not on the vehicle, how do I know my 2010 Armada Platinum is FFVThanks so much in advance for your kind replies!!

Daytime Running Light Question

Hello!I am new to the forum and I appreciate a great place to ask questions!I just bought a 2010 QX56 and I love it but it has one annoying feature. The manual has nothing about it. When I turn the headlights on (or in Auto), I giant green light comes on in the dash. I think it is the daytime running lamp light. It is super bright and annoying while I am driving at night. The only thing that shuts it off is when I turn the lights off. Is there an option to get rid of this bright green light I tried lowering the brightness on the console but this doesnt affect that light. Any ideasThanks!

The 2010 Infiniti QX56 - More than just a commanding presence!

Engineered brilliantly to feature exceptional style, strength, refinement and innovation, the 2010 Infiniti QX is an imposing figure and a powerful reminder that the company specializes in far more than luxury sport sedans.Outside, Infinitis 2010 QX more than lives up to its full-size SUV moniker. Unique, aggressive styling and powerful features combine to create a commanding, impressively refined sport utility with uncommon appeal. Up front, the QXs massive cascading chrome grille is flanked by low-mounted high-intensity headlamps and square foglamps. The SUV itself rests on a solid foundation of standard 20-inch, nine-spoke chrome alloys. The QXs profile is particularly striking, combining a short, burly hood, steeply sloped windshield and nicely sculpted body. Highlighted by a strip of chrome running the length of the doors, side paneling is vast, simple and bookended by modern, exaggerated fender flares. Atop the SUV, chrome roofracks stretch from just behind the sunroof to the rear ends nicely tapered power liftgate. In short, Infinitis design is contemporary and identifiable. The QX is powerful and imposing, yet remarkably elegant.Beneath the hood, there is nothing elegant about the 2010 QX. The QX houses one of the most impressive and powerful engines ever built by the company. Comprised of forged steel and reinforced aluminum, Infinitis 5.6-liter DOHC V8 engine generates an aggressive 320 hp and 393 lb/ft of torque through an electronically controlled five-speed automatic transmission. Power is immediate and ample, exploding from a dead stop and accelerating capably at higher speeds. The V8 with low gear ratios to complement an ultra-strong chassis allots a properly equipped QX a healthy 9,000-pound towing capacity. In either two or four-wheel drive models, the QX is designed to temper that power with precise, confident handling and traction. Speed sensitive power steering combines with Infinitis Vehicle Dynamic Control system to maintain direction, limit wheel spin and provide a surprisingly nimble driving experience. The available All-Mode Four-Wheel Drive system takes this a step further, continually adjusting the amount of torque spread between the front and rear wheels to ensure exceptional traction in any condition (hauling is enhanced by the high-torque mode of the 4WD system). The sheer size of Infinitis SUV is even more apparent inside where storage spots and spacious seating are easy to come by among nearly 190 cubic feet of interior space. Second- and third-row seats fold down, opening up over 97 cubic feet of dynamic cargo space. With seating for up to eight (or seven with available second row captains chairs), the QX features class-leading legroom and headroom, as well as modern comforts like heated leather seats and dual-zone automatic temperature control.Beyond spaciousness and comfort, the cabin of the newest QX is remarkably elegant and refined. Premium stitched leather is complemented by attractive wood trim and subtle chrome accents while control panels and gauges feature a sleek, contemporary design and arrangement. The QX doesnt overwhelm with over-the-top opulence, but simply ensures a pleasant, appealing cabin.Atop the center stack, youll find the color screen of Infinitis available rearview monitor and hard drive navigation system. Engineered brilliantly to feature exceptional style, strength, refinement and innovation, the 2010 Infiniti QX is an imposing figure and a powerful reminder that the company specializes in far more than luxury sport sedans.
Outside, Infiniti’s 2010 QX more than lives up to its full-size SUV moniker. Unique, aggressive styling and powerful features combine to create a commanding, impressively refined sport utility with uncommon appeal. Up front, the QX’s massive cascading chrome grille is flanked by low-mounted high-intensity headlamps and square foglamps. The SUV itself rests on a solid foundation of standard 20-inch, nine-spoke chrome alloys.
The QX’s profile is particularly striking, combining a short, burly hood, steeply sloped windshield and nicely sculpted body. Highlighted by a strip of chrome running the length of the doors, side paneling is vast, simple and bookended by modern, exaggerated fender flares. Atop the SUV, chrome roofracks stretch from just behind the sunroof to the rear end’s nicely tapered power liftgate. In short, Infiniti’s design is contemporary and identifiable. The QX is powerful and imposing, yet remarkably elegant.
Beneath the hood, there is nothing elegant about the 2010 QX. The QX houses one of the most impressive and powerful engines ever built by the company. Comprised of forged steel and reinforced aluminum, Infiniti’s 5.6-liter DOHC V8 engine generates an aggressive 320 hp and 393 lb/ft of torque through an electronically controlled five-speed automatic transmission.
Speed sensitive power steering combines with Infiniti’s Vehicle Dynamic Control system to maintain direction, limit wheel spin and provide a surprisingly nimble driving experience. The available All-Mode Four-Wheel Drive system takes this a step further, continually adjusting the amount of torque spread between the front and rear wheels to ensure exceptional traction in any condition (hauling is enhanced by the high-torque mode of the 4WD system).
The sheer size of Infiniti’s SUV is even more apparent inside where storage spots and spacious seating are easy to come by among nearly 190 cubic feet of interior space. Second- and third-row seats fold down, opening up over 97 cubic feet of dynamic cargo space. With seating for up to eight (or seven with available second row captains’ chairs), the QX features class-leading legroom and headroom, as well as modern comforts like heated leather seats and dual-zone automatic temperature control.
Beyond spaciousness and comfort, the cabin of the newest QX is remarkably elegant and refined. Premium stitched leather is complemented by attractive wood trim and subtle chrome accents while control panels and gauges feature a sleek, contemporary design and arrangement. The QX doesn’t overwhelm with over-the-top opulence, but simply ensures a pleasant, appealing cabin.
Atop the center stack, you’ll find the color screen of Infiniti’s available rearview monitor and hard drive navigation system. This nav system not only provides clear, three-dimensional maps and directions, but gives immediate traffic and lane-guidance as well. Integrated into that are the exclusive acoustics of the optional 12-speaker Bose premium stereo, featuring 9.3GB of internal music storage made possible by Infiniti’s Music Box® system. The available Mobile Entertainment System integrates a flip-down eight-inch monitor for easy movie viewing or video game playing in the back.
For safety, the 2010 QX features the latest innovations including Intelligent Cruise Control and braking systems that actively work to help you keep proper distance from vehicles in front of you and provide additional stopping power when needed.
Hi, i was wondering...i was thinking about buying winter tires/steel rims for the qx56...it's my first winter with the car, and I have no idea how it handles. Some ppl say that a big suv with awd should be fine in the winter,, other ppl say that i should get winter tires/rims...any thoughtsAlso, the site that i bought my previous winter tire /rims suggested a 17inch rim/winter tire package. Is this ok for the qx56, especially since OEM is 18inch

HID/Xenon for '09 Armada LE

Hi,What would you guys suggest if I wanted to get Xenon or HID lights to replace the "yellowish" stock halogens that come with the truck Have any of you done this before If so, what's the best way to do it Replace the bulbs or replace the whole headlight assembly Any suggestions on the product I would need to buy to do it I would have thought that the xenon or HID lights would've been at least optional on the LE but I guess I was wrong. Your helps greatly appreciated. Thanks,John

Correct Horsepower Number

I just bought a 2009 Nissan Armada LE where I live in Dubai. Everywhere I read on line it says that the 5.6L Endurance has 317hp but the dealership where I bought it advertised it as having 360hp, which I found strange but the salesman told me that the new '09 Armada had the engine tweaked a bit from the previous year. Any of you know which number is correct I looked in the owners manual and couldn't find anything. Your input is appreciated. Thanks.John

QX Satellite radio operation question....

When you press and hold the Tuning Switch on the steering wheel (the switch with the up and down arrows) while listening to satellite radio, what happensIn the manual it states "Push the switch UP or DOWN for more than 1.5 seconds to seek to the next or previous radio station on the band (AM, FM, or SAT)." When I do this on my stereo ('08 QX) while listening to satellite radio it does not go to the next station. With each subsequent push (and hold) of the switch it cycles through a set of specific stations such as 10, 11, 41, 55, 81, 115, etc, and then it cycles back around starting with 11 again and goes through these same stations again. And as a note, the same result occurs when pushing the SEEK / TRACK buttons on the dashboard. And while listening to AM or FM all of these buttons operate as they should - they go to the next available station.I asked my service rep at Infiniti and he says that they all do this. I don't believe him. Can anyone confirm And does anyone know a way to correct this

I have a question..dumb question..but the heated seat light...the part where it has the long bar (for the high setting) and the short bar (for the low setting)...do they illuminate I couldve sworn they illuminate, but they don't come on now...if i flip it on either high or low, the regular light at the bottom comes on...but that's it...all for heated seat lights are the same for me...anyone know if these two lights are suppose to come on i figure they would, because if it's night, and you have bad memory, you would have to know which setting your heating your seat to..and there's no way in telling unless they illuminate

20 inch oem rims & tires from 2008 qx56 on a 2006

Lately, i've been regretting a bit buying the 2006 qx56 instead of the 08. I find that the front grille looks much better, and, obviously the fact that it's newer doesn't help. I should have saved up a bit more and went for an 08..but what's done is done. BTW, i still like the interior of the 06 just as much as the 08...i dont need a hard drive, but i wouldn't mind the 3rd row power folding seats...Anyways, i decided that I can make my 06 look like an 08 (the exterior at least). The 2 biggest and most visible changes are the grille and the rims/tires. I've already got the grille done, but i was wondering, if I was to put a set of 2008 OEM rims/tires on my 2006, will it affect the suspension in any way Is there any significant changes on the 08 that handle the 20 inch rims better, or are they basically them same and I won't feel a differenceThanks for the replies in advance.

Random Electrical Issues.

I would like to share something with the QX56 and Armada owners that may be experiencing seemingly unrelated electrical concerns now or in the future. These issues may be anything from an intermittent no start to head light issues and there are no specific guidelines for how this may occur. It seems, or at least from the last week I had at work that some of the earlier models have some issues inside the IPDM (Intelligent Power Distribution Module) that will not typically set a dtc that will indicate a failure. In the best examples I can remember the 2004 QX with 80k exhibited an intermittent long crank and very rough idle with no codes. The truck was running low fuel pressure by ~10 psi, but at the computer was registering the fuel pump signal. I had to make the decision to remove the interior to examine what appeared to be a full tank and its pump and sending unit. After investing about 4 hours in removing the interior and carpet to access to tank access hatch. The pump tested fine but since I had already done this work for free the judgment was made to replace the pump to save money in the long run as the filter was already partially restricted. After the fuel pump replacement I kept the car for a few days to check the fuel pressure and cranking time before releasing it and declaring the repair a victory. After starting perfectly for four days (approx 15 times) I made the judgment to release the car on a Friday and as Murphys Law would dictate the car acted up as soon as the gentleman came to pick it up. No amount of explanation makes you look like you know what you are talking about. This can lead to frustration of anyone who comes near it. If you truck starts acting funny remove the larger cover behind the battery and tap the little white box under the cover with the fuses and the wires with something like the handle end of a screwdriver. If the truck starts or stops acting up go get yourself a new IPDM. Good Luck thanks for your time.

I dont think I can afford to take it in to service and pay what they are asking with todays economy .ThanksEnrique

It feels like the break rotors might be warped. Is it warped rotors or is it just the ABS When breaking at low speeds, however, It feels almost normal. Thanks for any input.

It feels like the break rotors might be warped. Is it warped rotors or is it just the ABS? When breaking at low speeds, however, It feels almost normal. Thanks for any input.

Nissan Armada fuel economy HELP!

okay i have a read a ton of posts about improving fuel economy with the Nissan Armada....I have noticed an increase in fuel economy in my other cars (non-nissans) when it comes to using K&N air filters, and I have read that they work okay in Armadas as well. So what i am wondering is "would you get even better mileage if you were to drop in a K&N Filter AND have an after-market exhaust system installed (i.e. "cat-back" system), maybe even a performance exhaust system

New guy here, trying to decide between an 07 and 08 Armada...w her

Hey all,I'm new here. My name is Brian, and the wife and I are looking at 2 different Armadas. Let me know what you guys think...2007 LE40k miles4x4LeatherBose StereoOr2008 SE14k miles2wdCloth, but they'll swap out for leatherNo Bose StereoNow, our concern is this, we love the 2008 dash with the large LCD screen. But, the 2007 4x4 is much more rare (at least that we can see) and it has the Bose. So what do you guys think We do live out in the middle of nowhere Texas, and I'm a real estate agent so 4x4 will definitely help as most of my listings are ranches.Did the 2007's and 2008's both have the ability to store your music form your Ipod, or was it only the ones with the Bose I'm at a loss for information.HELP!!Thanks in advance for helping a No0b.

I am having an issue with the intelligent cruise on my QX . The regular cruise works fine (hold the button for more than a second) but when I try to activate the intelligent cruise, I get the audible alarm and the whole cruise system shuts down until I restart the vehicle. Is this a common problem, radar alignment, or is it more serious Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, VQX

New 20" Tires for '08 and Newer Nissan Armada / Infiniti QX56

Well, as much as we hate to think about this, winter is just around the corner. For those of us in the north, that means all the snow and ice will be soon covering our roadways. I LOVE my '08 Armada, but I HATE the Michelin tires that were stock on this vehicle and Infiniti QX56 models. The biggest problem with the Michelins is the snow and ice traction. I was shocked at how poorly the Michelins performed in the snowy conditions. I now have about 24,000 miles on my Armada and the stock Michelins have been squealing a lot around corners. So, I decided to get some new treads! After much research, I decided to go with Michelin HTS Grabbers. So far these tires are AWESOME! Noticed right away a smoother ride. Also the sqealing is gone, and I can't wait to try them out in the snow and ice (although I am willing to wait a long time for winter, LOL). Anyway, price is great and my local Nissan dealer was willing to match the best price I could find, had them mounted and all for under $800. Tire Rack give them excellent reviews and great results for snow and ice. The other cool thing is it looks like the tires are making my truck sit up a little higher, and the tires appear to have a sort of offset that actually allows them to be a little wider than the rim. I am very happy!!! Hope this helps for those of you looking for new tires!

Rear Window Washer Not Working on 2004 QX56

Anyone know what could be the culprit for the rear window washer not functioning on a 2004 QX56 I can hear the pump trying to pump fluid back there but nothing comes out. Front windshield washer works fine and yes, there is plenty of washer fluid in the resevoir. It's full. I tried sticking a pin in the hole of the washer to unclog any debris but it was not clogged. If I can't figure it out, I will take it to the dealer and bend over for my routine raping. Thanks!Steve

Owner's manual states to contact your Infiniti dealer ...they thing they fail to mention is that Infiniti will charge me $30 to change it! There has to be an easy way to change this. Thanks!

Nav Bypass Questions

New 2010 QX56 Owner. Let me start by saying overall I love the truck. However, Im frustrated with all of the various screens which are disabled while driving including navigation destination input, dialing of cell phone, address book, music box search, etc. Seems absolutely ridiculous that I need to stop and park the vehicle to access these input screens.Ive seen the sticky on watching nav on the front screen while driving and the module that "Shane at Tintmasters" sells. I have no desire to watch video on the front screen, but would like to access all of the disabled input screens. My question for the group...Will this e-brake and speed sensor bypass hack allow access to all of the input screens as listed above Will the e-brake and speed sensor leave my dash "brake" light on all of the time or will it not ever light Will I have to flip the bypass switch each time I want to access the locked screens How easy is shane's modification as Im not thrilled with the idea of tearing out the dash on my new $$$ truckAny help would be greatly appreciated.

My Armada came from the facory with thoes Continental Contitrac tires, and I'm sure others did to. But is anyone else with these tires noticing any wear on them. My Armada has just under 35K miles on it now and the tires have a lot of wear on them and it looks like small splits are forming in them too. Is this happening to anyone else

Rattling Window!

Okay, i just recently started smoking cigarettes again. I did when i was 14 and quit when i was 15. Now i just recently picked it up again and i vowed that i would never smoke in my car. But earlier this week i was stuck in traffic and it was driving me crazy so i had a cigarette. The traffic started moving again so i tossed the cigarette away but i left my window down slightly and there was a rattling noise comming from the window that was driving me insane. It's only the drivers side window that does it, and it only rattles when its open slightly. When it's open all the way or almost all the way it doesnt do it. I know that this was a problem in the previous years for Armadas... but is it common for the 2008's And also... does anyone know exactly what is making the noise or if i can have the dealer fix it Thanks guys.

Im new here and I have a quick question. I drive a 2008 QX56 and was thinking of changing them out to put in halos. Does anyone know if headlight from different years would fit as well or do I have to stick with 2008 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

fuses box

08 qx56,,,looking for the interior fuse box. I did a search, but couldn't find. Under the hood are two easily identifiable fuse boxes (pas side engine compartment close to firewall, behind battery)...but is there another inside the cabin Thanks in advance
