Attention all NSCRA Drivers -

We are currently updating all driver profiles and would like to set up your accounts so that you can log in and edit your profile yourself. Please email jasonsiu@nscra.com with your e-mail address so that we can send out an email with your login credentials. Many of our driver profiles could use some updating with imagery of your car. We will be heavily marketing the website for the 2010 season, so the more you can add to your website, the better it will be for you and potential sponsors. I have a rb25 with basic bolt ons running 12-14psi on a set of mt 26x15x8.5. After about 5 passes I realized that after a burnout, I didnt have enough time to preload the tranny,hold the revs and pay attention to the lite so the 1st few times where garbage.

I decided to just try dumping the clucth...no preloading. Well that worked out great, but she still seems to bog down for a split second(I think this bogg happens when she squats). Out of about 7 runs I could only manage a 12.7

My 60ft times where consistent in the 1.7's and reaction times where consistent around .2**

My suspension setup was ksport/kyb gr2's in the front and stock in the back. The mt's had 14 psi in them.

At the end of the nite I was wishing that I had something that would hold the revs like a launch controller. I had one on my integra and I loved it. Im thinking that I need anti-lag b/c im dumping the clutch at 6 grand and she still wants to bogg. Maybe if I was leaving the hole in boost she would squat' and keep pulling instead of pausing. Every ones input will be appreciated

I am def. considering this my next project. Especially since that kit came out and makes it a drop in(excluding the wiring). I just wanted to see some time slips with build set up's. If im not mistaken ls-1+2000$ worth of bolt ons and a cam/lifter set up would put an s14 into 10sec passes. In other words a 10sec car for i dont know maybe 7-10k. IM SOLD

That of course being that traction is there.

My stock rb20det ran a 9.6 in the 1/8 with stock bald tires and SE wheels. I just got some 17/40/255 mustang wheels so now I am trying to fig. out the best diff. set-up for the 1/8 mile.

A) keep stock 4.01 rear and install a j30 diff into it.
B) 95-96 j30 diff bolts right in if my research is right changing to a 3.96...
C) newer q45 is like 3.86 i think but pain in but 5 bolts

What do you guys think is best set up? Any other diff's that can work? I plan to keep rb basicly stock.
Keep in mine im only worried about 1/8 mile time since its only track around me.

Drag axles for Z32

Does anyone know of where I can get upgraded axles for my z32.

Im setting it up to run an LS3 with Pro 400 3 spd auto. It will eventually be boosted via a single turbo, havent decided on the type. My end goal is to push 600whp and run in the 10s.

Any input is appreciated.

i was wondering what is a good tire pressure for a 1/8mile launch on normal street.. maybe 29psi?? and revs.. i have a 6spd altima se-r... maybe about 2,800? last time i ran really bad not being able to get traction and lots of spinning...

This is the second time I took the car to the track since the rebuild, The first time I took it to the track it ran 14.3 with open diff and crap tires. Now it has a welded diff and a little better tire but not a drag tire.

My 60 foots suck but its the best I could do with those tires and riding the clutch out, If i didnt ride the clutch it would bog (was leaving around 5k rpm)

My trap speeds range from 115-117 which is a good MPH for high 11's but I cant get off the line for s***. I turned the boost to 19psi and all it did was wheel hop, then spin when boost kicked in and got all lose going into second and the extra boost just helped me catch up on top end and run the same numbers.

All in all im pretty happy running those numbers with what the car is equipped with

I personally am getting very close on my setup. Finally got my fuel switch worked out, The Megasquirt system finished except the launch control. Almost done on the new Water intercooler Conversion. I been street testing it. I need a Bigger water pump to keep up on the intercooler. My intake temps want to rise around 120degree's after a Hard pass. I should be going to the dyno in 2 weeks to Final tune it after I get a few good street tunes on 21psi. I should be able to blow the 6's easy on the new setup. I hope to get a couple track passes in 3 or 4 weeks. I have not got to get any so far this yr.

Been reading forums for awhile and can't find the posts where people were talking about doing rear end swaps to solid axle rear ends. A few people have
mentioned about Four-Linking a solid axle in, but was curious what other people have done as I'm going to need to swap from the stock IRS/axles to a solid axle for drag racing sometime this winter or next year. Hoping to go the V8 route, either ford or sbc, or possibly big block and get a low 10 sec ride for racing.

Trap speed question

i've gotten the best 1/4 mile time for all the N/A altima coupes but crappy trap speeds. my best time was a 13.912 at 99.xx MPH. another time i ran something like a 14.2 (forgot exactly what i ran) but i was consistently running 102, 103, and 104 MPH trap speeds. what causes this? that 13.912 at 99 MPH could be much better if i can get it to trap 104 MPH..... one of my friends said that if you get a bad launch that you trap higher speeds. is this true? any advice on how to trap a higher speed, without negatively affecting my time of course?

my car and mods are: 2008 Nissan Altima coupe 3.5SE with the CVT transmission. only mod was unbolting the exhaust after the cat.

Battle of the Imports - Sacramento Raceway - August 9th (Sunday)

Sunday August 9th marks the 4th event for the Battle of the Imports 2009 Season at Sacramento Raceway. Final BOTI makes its way to west coast for the 2009 season, so that of you waiting for them to be back, the time is now. The Sacramento event each year grows better and better, what will happen this year to set it apart from the other Battle events. The Norris camp will be making its way to Wild West to take on racers out there. With Jonathon Reynolds running into 1 issue after another this year will this open up the door at Sacramento for Lisa Kubo to land a win at a Battle event. In the Street Performance class who will step up and taken the challenge from the always tough, Loan Nguyen. Which heavy hitters will we see in the Pro Classes, we know Norris will be there in Pro-Stock, but who will take on the challenge of running in the Pro-Import class?

Also the car show will be in full effect all competing for the Buddy Club best Team award. The girls will be out in force for the swim suit contest and Go-Go dancers on the Battle Stage.

Hello everyone,

MVP Motorsports, long known for our work with Supras, has been working on the awesome R35 GT-R for several months now. We felt it was time to make an official announcement of our on-going involvement with the new Skyline.

And we thought what better way to announce our arrival than breaking the world record for the quickest GT-R?

We went to the brand new Dallas Raceway drag strip this Sunday for the second time to see what we could do. We went last Thursday as well which was their opening night, but they were only running the 1/8 mile so we were quite limited.

On only our second � mile pass EVER, the MVP GT-R ran an 10.31 @ 131mph, a new world record! We backed up that pass with a 10.32 @ only 127mph due to boost cut. Clearly had we not hit boost cut we had a quicker pass, as our GT-R fell flat at about the 1100ft mark.
We will be fixing this very soon and going back out to see what more we can do.

Our website is still under some construction, but we already have hundreds of GT-R parts listed and we have many of them in stock here at MVP.

Every product on our world's quickest GT-R is available to the public for both installation here at MVP as well as shipping worldwide.
We did not use nitrous and do not even have it plumbed in. All of our power comes from bolt-on upgrades and an MVP-tuned Cobb AccessPort.

just wondering if there are any other nhra fans out here on this forum. if not you need to go just to see the nitro cars aka top fuel and funny car. it is a billion times more full of awesome in person than on tv. just make sure you go to nitro alley and watch them warm up and seat the clutches after they rebuild them.

Who will be victorious? I have a s13 coupe with blacktop s13sr. (stock turbo) Mods:fmic, intake, tubular manifold, o2 housing, downpipe, mine's tuned ecu @ 14psi. My friend has a s14 with s14sr(stock turbo) same mods minus the tubular manifold and the tuned ecu. Who should win assuming we can both drive? He dynoed at 247whp, im not sure where im at.

I have been looking all around for some drag racing rims. 15 x 10 is what im looking for. Seems that weld makes the top of the line but there around 250 a piece. American racing makes a few and I found some dirt circle track racing rims that weigh anywhere from 19-25 lbs. CAn some one help??

hey guys,

my name is pat and i own a 240sx s13 hatch with a sr20 swap in it. i got the car from a guy that is into drifting. he has these JIC externally adjustable coilovers front and rear & Camber plates. i want to know what ill need to use to make the car bit on the streets and bit like a 1.8 at the track . i goto alot of race meets and 90% of my racing is 2am street pulls. i do go to the track from time to time but mostly street race is what i do. what do i need to get this car to bit on street and yet bit pretty good at the track.

1/4 mile racing advice

Hey Guys,
I have a friend that wants to go down to the track and race his 1972 Corvette against my 2009 G37S Coupe over the 1/4 mile straight track. He says his Corvette which has a 350 in it will beat the 2009 G37.

We are going to go to a legal track and I wanted to get some advice since I do not race.
Don�t worry, I am going to practice and work up slowly.

Do I run the race using the normal automatic drive mode or will I get the best times using the drive sport mode? If it is the drive sport mode, is it best to shift just before red line or is it better to shift at around 5200 rpms where the maximum torque is?

Has anybody heard there is a new racing complex going up in Mid-Missouri. They are putting in a � mile Drag Strip, Mud & Dirt Drags, Motocross, small oval track, Off Road Track, a Water Sport Lake, and a Road Course. Sounds cool!!

2009 True street Stick shift class

I would like to invite everyone out this yr for a true street stick shift class at I-40drag way in crossville Tn
this will be a heads up run wat you brung competition. There is no slicks allowed. Dot tires only. There will be a 15 mile escorted cruise threw town and when you return back to the track you will then do 2 back to back qualifying hot laps to set you up in a bracket for 1st round.
1st and 2nd round loosers will automatically qualify into the 2nd chance race.

Possible Nissan Shoot-out

Im making this thread to help me get ideas for either a huge nissan mean at the track or maybe even a shootout.

There is a drag track I could rent out by Rochester NY and I could rent it out for the whole day and to host a event such as this one

I would like it to be a nissan shoot out for all types of nissans and i could put them in their own category with bracket racing.

So throw me some ideas and maybe I can get this going and set it up for early summer.

watching the powerblock on spike and just reading the forum it seems alot of people are running 1/8 mile..... i used to drag alot before i joined the military and will again later this year when i get out, but always 1/4 mile... is this a trend or just track availabilaty?????

you this spring. Who is going to get in the 6's first? I'm going top mount T3 over the winter with a holset HX35 and a tial gate. Should give me 100+whp if I don't run out of fuel with the 72lbs inj and a rom tune. Even if, I should have the fastest rom tuned SR on nico?

I have a 1992 300zxtt 2=2 conversion. I have 4.10 gears at 18psi roughly 460whp 450tq (I am basing that on my previous dyno before current upgrades) max efficiency is 23psi. I will post new dyno video once completed. First time on the track I spun in through 3rd like driving on wet pavement until middle of third. With a R/T of .753 with a time of 12.802 I know the car is capable of awesome times based on street runs(I no longer street race)I know motor set ups well just not set ups for qaurtermile. Oh also weight based on truck stop 3350lbs. Any tir set up advice or advice for getting the best time out of my car would be appreciated.

in the market for some 17" drag radials for my 17x8. i see a lot of you guys running Mickey thompson drag radials with awesome results and i think i want to pick up a set. just wondering which size would be best, and what version. i think i saw 2 or 3 different ones they have. my front tires i will most likely run are 225/55zr17 (i got 2 bfg gforce for free). not sure what size would suit me best.

im a autocrosser at heart but my buddy picked up a new 2009 SRT8 Challenger this week and wanted to take it to the strip. i figured i would go with him just one time to say i tried it in the GT-R

the Results

7.660 @ 95.850 in manual mode 1.95 60 ft shifting just right before redline
7.674 @ 96.570 in auto mode 1.99 60ft auto shifted at 6600

then i did just one with launch control 7.393 @ 96.1 and a 1.73 60 ft . it pulled right over 1G of acceleration for over 2 seconds. in the vid you can see without L/C it pulled right under 1G for about a second. i was quite proud of myself on that one and wont be using it again as i learned all i needed to know

a quick vid my buddy took some of my practice runs working on trying to time the cars hesitation from a stand still with the yellow to green light....... oh and and vs his challenger

Ok guys just wandering if any of you guys have a guess on what kinda power is needed to make an s13 run in the 10's?? I am finishing up my full built sr20det and hopping for around 500 rwhp, and just wandering if that will do it or if it can be done with less. I also would like to do it with full interior but will have some weight savings such as Aluminum sr20det block,
Greddy intake manifold, Jgy pulley set, Windshield washer system, Front bumper support A/c system, Spare tire & jack I no its not alot can it be done??

ok i have a 95 240sx se just wanted a quick refrence s13 sr redtop 264 cams 15 lbs. boost exedy racing stage 1 clutch greddy R.A.S. comectic gasket w/arp studs ok i recentley put hoosier quick time tires on 9.5inch i wanted to know how much air should i have in the tires? and what rpm would you guys suggest launching out and should i go with slipping the clutch or dumping it? should i have to worry about my rear taking a dump on me or my axels at the track if i dump it? or should it hold up?

looking to get an LSD for my s13 this winter, and wondering what would be the best lsd for my situation. i dd it in the summer time and take it to the track around 3 times a month, and do some street runs once in awhile. i was thinking about getting a direct vlsd replacement (new pumpkin/axles). i was just wondering if my rb/s13 driveshaft would still work? would the vlsd help me or should i go for a different style?

goal for my car next year is to get into 11's. Would like to get 11.4-11.5 ultimately. just wondering you guys who do run 11's what kind of HP / tq do you guys put out? Im in the market for a new turbo and want to be sure I can be in the hp range to potentially hit 11's. I ran 13.2@106 / 13.3@108 (with 2.0/2.1 60 ft) this season on pretty much a stock rb25det, tuned 12psi for 266rwhp. i will be upgrading tires and most likely LSD (probably after turbo setup is complete) to try to better my 60ft.

would 400whp be enough to get me there? this is in an s13 hatch btw.
any help and advice would be appreciated

Does anyone know how i can reduce my 60' in an Auto. I'm getting terrible times 2.2 2.3 The cars running strong I'm running 14.3@102.1. I just cant get a solid launch. Ive tried preloading the torque converter while holding the brake but nothing really seems to matter.

going out to the track today in hopes of low 13's in the 1/4 mile. last time i was out there i was running 14.1@101 consistantly. this was on the stock PFC base map (which dyno'd a weak 180whp and 160tq). my 60ft's were also very a consistant 2.1. i have a competition stage 3 clutch and i cant figure out how to lower my 60fts. ive tried launching at different rpms, dumping the clutch, feathering it and i always get 2.1.

im using some 205/50/15 bfg drag rads that i got for free. i know they arent the best choice of tires and even look ugly on my car but its all i have right now.

im now tuned to 266whp/245tq at 12 psi and 286/260@14 psi. id like to get my 60's down to 1.8-1.9 with these tires but im not sure what the trick is. on my h22 civic i can get 2.0s at least all day with the 14" street tires feathering it. any advice would help.

So I went up to Bremerton Raceway today, and ran the G. There was a G37 coupe there as well, and he was consistantly .5 second faster.

I red lighted three times.

I tried running with the VDC on, just to see if it helped, and that was a joke.

I usually run my tires at 42psi, and after 6 runs, I dropped them down to 35psi. It made about .1 of a second difference consistantly.

It was 59� out, 90% humidity, and mostly cloudy. The left lane had a lot more traction than the right. The best part about my fastest run, was that I beat a 1997 30th anniversary edition Z28 Camaro. Made me feel great when the owner came over to ask me about my car.

My best time was a 14.454 @ 97.44 MPH.

I am number 2464, (left lane) the Camaro was 2615 (right lane).

Just curious to hear what turbo you guys are running that makes good power and spools quick.

What kind of numbers are you guys turning also?

I currently have the best of 7.80@91 in the 1/8th with 1.6 60' without launch control. Rb25det, All internal mods, Stock T28 turbo and manifold.

Im planning to go back to the track this friday and see what kind of 60's I can get with launch control.

Im looking into the gt32 or Holset, But I want something thats gonna work with my setup. Remember Im an 1/8th mile car. I don't have 1/4 mile around me.

Was out tonight testing out my 248/232 camswap and exhaust...didn't do so good according to my gtech.

8.5 sec 0-60 1/4 in 16.47 @ 89.7 mph.

Based on the nearly 90mph 'trap' I am thinking I should be closer to 15.5 flat.

Maybe I am not launching at a high enough rpm. My suspension is stiff which I know hinders a launch.

Any ideas, I am hoping to get to a track sooner or later on a test and tune to get a couple real runs in.

i have a sentra 02 with dc header,megan catback,nismo intake and ported header and throttle body but everytime i launch at 2500 my car hops and i give it 3000 it goes peeling out all till 2second gear and then it bogs what rps should i be launching at ???

Anyways, here's a video that my buddy put together for me. It was from '07, and it was the last day before the track closed for the season(I think he put '08 on the video)
