Big oil leaks

My engine leaks a good bit of oil. Part of it seems to be the front main seal cause there is oil all over stuff thats inline with the pullies, along with the alternator. And the other half is the oil pan...there is a drop of oil hanging from some of the bolts. The valve cover was leaking, but i fixed that. Im thinking about removing the engine and replacing the seals and degreasing the whole motor and engine compartment (theres oil on pretty much everything, even some on the side of the battery. I just know the oil pan will be a pain to seal with the engine in the car. I think it may still even have the original timing chain. If i did remove it, I was thinking just unbolt the manual transmission and leave it in the car (Ive taken it out and had it rebuilt already about 1k miles ago) and slide the motor forward and out. The motor has about 166k miles on it, and uses/ leaks about a quart every 300 or so miles. I do see it smoke from time to time but not very often, so im thinking its leaking a good bit goin down the road too. I checked the compression and it was (from the front of engine) 140, 130, 135, 130 with the motor hot. So what is ya'lls thoughts?

I got it in last week and put in on friday. it sounds great and fit perfect. so if anyone is thinking about buying one then go for it. on a side note i had first ordered the Isis dual N1 and when it came in it didnt fit due to it being damaged durring shipping so i gave Enjuku Racing a call and they asked me to send them some pics of it and they confirmed it was damaged. Ken from Enuku called me and he told me they could send out another one right away but after having the Dual N1 under the car i was worried about clerence so i asked if i could get the Single gt instead and he said sure and they sent it out and credited my account the difference in price. they also sent UPS out to pick up the Dual N1 so again Enjuku has made this customer very happy. I cant say enough good things about the guys at Enjuku Racing, they are top notch and stand behind what they sell 100% and you can go wrong with buying from them.

Does anyone know the part number for 95 240 5 lug front wheel bearings? Im having a hard time getting the right ones. I've already had a parts place order them twice. First time, they were too small, so ordered them again, thinking it had 300zx spindles and stuff (it has z32 calipers)...the measurements sounded right, but it didn't fit either. The one for the 240 was the only part number that was showing on their computer.

Up for grabs is a fine example of a real clean 300zx. This car spent all its life under one owner in California, until it made its way over to the East Coast last year. I acquired this gem in late September and have not had the time to even register it nor drive it. Its a real shame I got to let this go. The paint is in pretty nice shape considering it is 15 years old. There is one paint chip on the front fender that will be fixed for the new buyer if the asking price is met. The car drives flawlessly! It has 143k on it and is 100% STOCK! The engine is real smooth and the transmission shifts with out a hitch. The shifter bushings do need replacing though as the shifter has a lot of play, but again, it does affect the drive train what so ever. The engine has no leaks and no odd smoke or noises. New Monroe ceramic brakes were just installed, zero miles on them! The stock chrome wheels do need some cleaning and the tires are beginning to show age. I will include a set of Cobra wheels (17x9 +27) with good Michellin pilot tires on there, again if the asking price is met. The trim is all in good shape around the car. The interior is in super nice shape. The dash has no cracks or peels. T Tops do not leak, though I do not have the bags for them. Shades are included for them. It has a Blankput Head unit. The climate control works as well, A/C is nice and cold. The only flaw with the leather seats is that the drivers bottom cushion, the seam has separated. I spoke with an interior upholstery shop and its an easy fix; just has to be sewn together. Over all this is a really nice Z32 300zx that was nicely maintained. It looks way better in person than the pictures show.

I bought the car about 5 months ago. Havent beat on it. runs great! No issues with idle or anything with the way it runs. Super strong and reliable. I have been told it has been tuned for 10bls. It runs on stock boost at 7lbs right now. Needs a powersteering hose and thats about it. The power steering does work just leaks a bit.

The motor does not have anything crazyy done to it. Just a rebuild. Aluminum radiator, Front Mount, greddy catch can, hks oil filler cap, Powered by max magnetic drain plug, powered by max hood vent kit, 0-30w full synthetic amsoil and filter.

I also have a oil filter relocation kit that i have not installed yet. I can show whoever needs it proof of the purchase of the nismo lsd. I have paypal recepts and the box and stuff pluss the old open diff. Broke in the diff with the nismo full synthetic. Diff locks right up no problems. Works GREAT!

As for the reason why im selling? My dad is sick. HE needs lung and heart transplant. Might have to move somewhere far for a while. Soooo cant bring the car with me.

Y34 Oil Seperator installed - 52k warning

I did this mod this weekend. I put it right at the intake from the PCV to the tb. No problems, no codes thrown afterwards. It went pretty well overall. I�m not convinced, however, that this is the sole source of the oil consumption issue, but it will likely help. After a short trip around town, there's already a drip in the bottom & the inside of the bowl is coated with a fine mist of oil. It HAS to be beneficial just for the fact that the lines had oil in them and the back side of the tb was lightly coated in oil.

I may do a seafoam treatment in a couple of days right before I change oil...

With a dremel cut off tool, I modified the base of the pressure relief valve to make it fit where I wanted to install it and while I was there, I did the coolant bypass mod.

To mount the seperator in that area, I also had to cut off a little bracket that mounts to the fuel rail. The bracket just held a wiring harness and is not critical. It was necessary to get the seperator to sit level with the tube at the intake.

Speedometer Not working 96 240sx With Blacktop S14

My car is a 96 240sx with a Black Top S14 Sr20det. I replaced the SR speed sensor with a US spec 5 spd sensor I purchased brand new. The lower harness is the original automatic. The fuel,heat,tach still work fine.

Ok i just changed my clutch, throw out bearing,and my master cylinder also removed my dampener box .When i go to bleed the slave it gets to much pressure and the spring in the slave pops the metal thing in the slave to far and it pops out and i loose pressure my ? is do i have to adjust my clutch pedal after changing the master cylinder!or could it be something else!

And im on my 3rd slave cylinder im using a z32 slave cylinder please help me!

j30 gearing questions

the stock j30 gearing makes my motor bog out when i pull away
im pretty sure its 3.96 but the stock 240 gearing is 4.08
ive seen some people make hybrid diffs from the stock open diff and j30.
how does this work?

For sale is a nice 300ZX automatic, non-turbo. The car runs great in every way. New injectors as well as a zmaxsystems speaker system were installed in the summer. A new battery was installed last week. The only flaws the car has are typical Z cosmetics due to age, mostly on the interior. This is a lot of car for the money. Ok well here is my dilema... I have tried searching and cannot find an answer... I used to have diagrams showing me exactly what everything went to, but since moving I no longer have those diagrams.

I have completely stripped the interior out of an s-13 shell, stich welded most of the chasis (still working on finishing the welding) and tucked the body harness (I am trying to clean the harness up as well so... I want to remove the seat belt computer and wiring does anyone know what else this comuter controls if anything?

SOHC turns over but wont start HELP!

Alright I got my new KA24E installed in my 1989 240SX and the engine turns over but wont start. I checked the spark plugs and they are firing and when I pull them out they are wet and smell like fuel so I know its getting gas.
So i have researched and read that maybe i need to reset the distributor timing because maybe its firing on the wrong stroke but how do i reset it?
Also if somebody thinks it may be another problem please let me know.

I had high hopes for her but unfortunately my life has taken a different direction in the past year and I haven't had any time to work on it been sitting collecting dust in my garage just about all year I'm considering selling but I'm not completely sure yet. I'm wondering what a fair price to ask if I did put it up for sale? See the link in my sig, its basically a rolling chassis right now, 95% complete interior, needs paint, needs an engine/trans, includes silvia front end minus fenders. I was thinking maybe $1000-1200? Parts alone are worth more than that but I'd hate to part her out and send the body to the junker b/c there is basically no rust on this car.

In case anyone was wondering I'm keeping the VQ35 engine and trans might build that slowly and use it for another project down the road, I just can't part with that

Exhaust: 3in turbo back, 3in catback with test pipe.
e-check was done recently it is good for 2 years. Big front mount intercooler painted black, greddy type rs blow off valve, autometer boost gauge, welded differential, pioneer headunit (ipod ready), battery relocated to the trunk.
i have the front grille for it, but it is not installed. I need to sell the car asap, I need money for school. Price is some what negotiable but no lowballers.
No test drives unless cash in hand.
In the last pic the bumper is hanging a little, i just fixed it and it sits flush to the fender.

alternator harness

i am in the process of doing a jdm motor, tranny, and wiring harness swap. my z was already a tt but with a auto tranny. i figured it should be a simple swap. well everything seems to be going well but need some help on the alternator harness connector, reverse light question using the manual trans harness that came with the motor. and also a connector that i am not sure where it plugs into..

the alternator harness that came with the motor is slightly different. first the new harness is bigger but both have 6 wires. i was just going to swap out the ends and use the old harness plug. but 3 wires color match but the other three dont. will it still work? has anyone use the jdm alternator wiring harness? attached are some pics..

I received my separator about a week ago and plan on putting it in, I have seen the install on the newer M and am curious as to if anyone has done it to a Y34?

Also how is the unit mounted to the bracket? the top of the unit has holes, but they are not threaded for the provided screws.

Hey guys, i have a front Brembo brake that is for any Nissan Sentra. This is originally for a Sentra but ill fit a 240sx! Installing H4 HID w/ highbeam to an '02 pathfinder

Im having difficulty installing 8000k HID with halogen high beams to my pathfinder.. The kit has the basic black ground wire and 2 red, one for the low beam & one for the high... Basically either the HID will work but when the highbeam is activated the HID's are killed.. Or the highbeams will work without the HID lights..

Im wondering if its a power issue or if the wiring are being plugged in wrong, if anyone knows the correct order of the 3 wires inorder to function properly or if im just missing some important information.. please help.

Hello everybody, new guy here. Looking forward to talking with you guys over the next long while! I've been looking over everything for the past few days and have been totally impressed. I'm a big searcher before asker so don't mind me if I'm a little quiet for now. Recently just got a 1992 240sx Coupe 5MT with the head pulled off the KA and some bits missing here and there. Planning on a GTR build but I still have a long ways to go before deciding if that's worth it! Love to keep the AWD, seen it done on that RS14 or whatever they have a website for, but hell if I know how they did it. Yet. Plus's, I am a fabricator and a career bodyman with a MIG welder on hand. Fronts: 16x7JJ +32 offset Riken Raptors 205/50/16 85% tread

Rears: 16x8JJ +32 offset Riken Raptors 225/50/16 99% tread "less than 2 months old.

Same wheels that were on the white S14 in the video "Drift Bible".

Rims are very light weight. Powder coating is peeling, wheels are straight with minor curb rash on one wheel.
Bolt directly on to a 240SX, NO spacer is required, wheels sit flush in fender wells when looking down side of the car. Will fit with stock springs or lowering springs. Coilovers are not required.

I will be going to KC for Thanksgiving this Thursday. So I can bring them with me if it helps in cutting out shipping costs.

Straight 6 cyl. 2.4 liter motor, 5 speed manual transmission, Rear wheel drive, 4 wheel independent suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes. 1st Production car that Talks to you.

Runs and drives good. A/C and heat both work, as well as the intermittent wipers, power sunroof. Leather seats/drivers seat worn on bolster.

Speedometer doesn't work. Tach, temp, and oil pressure guages work. Mileage is 190k. My 71 240Z has the same motor and 326k.

I changed the oil and filter about a month ago. 160 degree thermostat.

Only rust is on the lower rocker panels in front of rear tires. Strut towers,

Frame rails, and floor are in great condition.

I wonder if anyone has been able to benefit from Nissan's VPP and the reson for asking is that as a Ford owner I was able to get to the Ford site and request if anyone had a "pin" number for wnat is known as A Plan....about $100 below dealer invoice.
Ford allows their employess 3 of these pin # (called a family and friends program) a year and if you ask for it and anyone has it then you may save a few dollars in the purchase,besides the no hassle from dealers....
I want a buy a Murano EL about 6 months from now and I am just doing my so called "due dligemce" in trying to get the best available price....

i've been thinking about converting my belt driven fan to an electric one in my 03 pathy, i was looking for some info on how its done from those of you who have already made this mod, andwhere i can get an electric fan and how much they usually cost. and when i left my pathy i plan on doing alot of wheelin, and id like to convert my front hubs to manual locking, i want to know how much that will set me bak $$$ wise, where i can get the hubs and how much of a pain in the balls it will be. thanks

The radio does not want to turn on whatsoever and the antenna does not go up. The CD player displays the numbers and the track is moving but no sound is coming out of the speakers. What could the problem be?

I'm selling my '94 Nissan Altima

This car has a Viper remote start system with key-less entry.
The A/C and heat work great.

The engine is the stock KA24DE with just under 200k miles, and runs great-Better than new.
It has an aftermarket air intake system with a red cone filter, and a red powder-coated valve cover.
A new distributor was installed about 3 months ago with new NGK Iridium spark plugs and red magnacore wires.

The Automatic transmission is FWD and has never given me any problems at all (knock on wood).
I change the oil every 3,000 miles myself with the good stuff.

The suspension was redone and upgraded about 8 months ago:
New axles were installed in the front due to the old cv joints going bad, and the wheel bearings were replaced with new ones from Napa.
All of the old worn-out rubber bushing were replaced with new polyurethane bushings from Energy Suspension.
New ball joints, tie rod ends, and sway bar end links were installed.
And the car also had new lowering springs installed giving it much better handling and a 2'' drop all the way around.

All 4 tires are BFGoodrich G-Force Sport 225/55/16Rs on 16'' rims that I had powder-coated gloss black 2 years ago.
New rotors, brake pads, and fluid were all replaced about 2 months ago, as well as new racing spec extended lug nuts.

The headlights were replaced with a 6000K super-white HID kit.
The corner lights, interior lights, and backup lights were all replaced with super-white led bulbs as well to match.
The car had a nice black paint job until recently. The hood and very top of the fenders is loosing its clear coat.
The paint on the hood has never bothered me, but it could use a respray.

The trunk has a one-of-a-kind spoiler, and inside the trunk is a very nice sound system.
I have 2 10'' Memphis subs in a vented box that are powered by an Eclipse amp.
The front doors have Alpine Type-R 5''x7'' speakers, and the rear deck has 6.5'' speakers.
The deck is a Pioneer CD player that is very easy to use.

I am selling this car because I need the money. I have always had a second car but my family only needs one right now.
I have invested a lot of time and money into this car, and I believe that it is worth the full asking price of $3500.
I hope that my car finds a good home, and can make someone else as happy as it has made me.

I sold that before i went to bootcamp [i'm in the Marine Corps]. I recently came back from Afghanistan, and decided to buy me a 2008 Altima Coupe, but when i saw the 2010 i was like "Man i want it!" LoL so i got it, and i love it, and i wanna make her sexy. Alarm went off, now can't open trunk

Got a call from my fiancee who's got our '04 6MT Sedan out of state with her....She said the alarm went off, for no reason, and now she can't get the trunk open with either the remote, or the manual release by the steering wheel. The car has had issues with the alarm going off in the past as documented in the Service History that I got from the local dealership, but seemed to be fixed when they replaced the hood switch.
Just curious how she can get into the trunk without having to crawl between the back seats.

Radioator Question

I was checking my fluid level this morning and I happen to notice that the radiator unit has some give or play to it....if I push down or forward on the radiator where the cap is it gives a little, like a bounce.

I noticed that where the radiator gets screwed on its mount its rubberized type bushings with no screw to tighten, seems like its purposely like that so it can have that give.

Can someone confirm if their radiator has that same give to it if you push on it.

Finally got a chance to test the RGB input (under iPod interface) this weekend. Here is the result:
it doesn't work. There is audio but no video. Connected a portable DVD player the audio sounds great but no video on the LCD. Is it a setup issue that I forgot?

Just wanted to update members about the 'vibration issue' caused by the low engine rev's (around 1200 RPM) when travelling 40-50 km/h. I first noticed it on day 2 of ownership and posted a few times back then.

Now at 40,000 km, after my last oil change, its absolutely gone! It seems to have been steadily reducing over the past 10,000 km or so to the point where I can't even feel it if I try really hard.

Clearance issues with r32 engine (re) installation

If anyone has some advice or tricks it would help. I am re-installing my rb26dett back in my R32. I haven't found anything searching the web, and I have the FSM.

I have the motor almost on the mounts (just froward of the slots the motor mount bolts droop into)

The transition is in (on a jack, sub frame blots loose)

Pas axle is in place but not connected

Driver axle is not connected (Suspension is disassembled and hub has slack backwards 2 bolts loosely holding the diff "ring" in place temporarily)

The spline on the trans is lined up and the bell housing is about 1 1/2" from coming together.

Is there a trick to mate the trans and motor together? Am I missing something? I have tried putting the trans in gear and twisting the rear weals back and forth to line up the splines, they seem like there in place. I lubed up the spline before the re installation. I have been wiggling the engine, changed its pitch side to side and front to back. Is it easyer to remove the trans, then attach it to the motor? Any advice would really help.
