i need the turning signals for a chuki bumper, mostly a right turn signal. also need a driver side s13 seat with rail if possible, cause on mine i leaned back and the arm on the rail just snapped off as if it was welded or something. i also need the power window control for a 93 hb door panels driver and pass side. i need a rear bumper blk prefered. any interior panels if u have laying around i may be interested due to the fact that mine are kinda ripped or missing clips..

New winter tires = TPMS light indicator now on

I just put on new winter tires on new rims. The Tire pressure Monitor system light is now on. I take it this is normal as i did not put the special valves on the winter tires.

I checked this forum with no results.

Any way to turn this off while i have the winter tires on?

why doesn't my 240sx drift

so i took out the three "anti-skid" relays from under the hood, but my car still wont get sideways, i feel it cutting loose, but then it just straightens up like something is holding it back. i can drift pretty easily in the rain. is it because i dont have lsd? or is there something else making my 240 unable to spin out?

I am considering buying a G37 sedan. I noticed somewhere that it requires 91 octane fuel. Is this just a recomendation or can the car not adjust for lower octane fuel?

I have been looking at all the FSMs, The s14 SR FSM says to tighten them to

0.8-1.0 kg-m which is 5.8-7.2 Ft lbs.

The S13 SR japanese FSM Says to tighten them to

1.2-1.5 kg-m which translates to 8.6-10.8 Ft lbs.

I also looked at the FWD SR FSM and it says

0.8-1.0 kg-m as well just like the s14 sr one.

Why would this be? What is the proper torque spec for it? Im wondering why the S13 FSM says something different than the other two??

I need to figure this out asap haha any help is appreciated.

I just got new front struts for my '99 Q45, and they push down really easy with hardly any effort and return really slow. Is this right, are they blown?

I installd front struts on my wifes '05 Solara and it took much more effort to push them down.

I searched and couldnt find anything on this.

just bought a new stage 2 clutch from southbend and had it installed.....now it seems weeker then my stock clutch? and i know my shop did it right hes installed clutches on many of my past cars......i dont feel that jolt when shifting gears that i felt with a stage 2 i had on a different car.....is something wrong or is it common for the clutch to not be strong during the breakend....and i accidently got on it a little today and it slipped.....normal break in or not??

DETROIT (Reuters) - There's a simple way to get Americans to drive fuel-efficient cars, according to auto executives, but they are not going to like it -- sharply hike the gas tax.

While politically unpalatable, gasoline that costs at least $4 a gallon would have a far greater effect on American fuel usage than Washington's $25 billion loan program meant to spark investment in new technologies, executives told the Reuters Auto Summit in Detroit.

Consumer demand for fuel-efficient cars like Toyota Motor Corp's Prius and Ford Motor Co's Escape hybrid surged last summer as gasoline prices soared above $4 a gallon.

But with the pressure off -- the average U.S. retail gas price was $2.66 a gallon at the end of October, according to the benchmark Lundberg survey -- Americans are once again buying fuel-hungry sport utility vehicles and other large cars.

"The U.S. allows the price of gasoline to go back and forth across this line where the consumers don't care about fuel efficiency and where consumers do care about fuel efficiency," Mike Jackson, chief executive of AutoNation Inc, the No. 1 U.S. auto retailer, told the summit in Detroit on Wednesday.

Gradually raising gas taxes to the point where fuel costs $4 to $5 at the pump will do more to stimulate demand in next-generation vehicles like General Motors Co's forthcoming Chevy Volt plug-in hybrid than any other policy initiatives, including raising the national fuel efficiency standards know as CAFE, Jackson said.

Jerry York, a former GM board member and an adviser to billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian, agreed.

"Unless gas is $3.50 or $4 a gallon, consumers are not going to want to buy those cars," York said on Monday.

'AFRAID TO TOUCH' GAS TAX

The obvious impediment to such a move is political.

Higher fuel prices in the midst of a fragile economic recovery would likely be extremely unpopular even with consumers who favor "green" issues and less dependence on foreign oil.

Consumer sentiment toward car companies may also be at a low that is rivaled only by their attitudes toward big oil companies, particularly after the federal government pumped more than $100 billion into GM, Chrysler and other auto industry players to prevent their collapse during the most brutal economic downturn the United States has faced since the Great Depression.

"In the United States, we're afraid to touch the fuel price," said Tim Leuliette, chief executive of privately held parts supplier Dura Automotive.

"We've got to continue to raise taxes in the United States so that, by the end of the next decade, gas is about $8 a gallon in today's terms," he told the summit on Tuesday.

"What you have to do is do it in a manner that is slow enough and predictable enough that vehicle selection and choices by people over the cycle can be made in a logical way," he said, a point also emphasized by Jackson of AutoNation.

Such a shift would also help the global auto industry, which today produces an entirely different lineup of cars and light trucks for the U.S. market than Europe, where fuel tends to cost two to three times more than in the United States.

"The cars that America wants are typically cars that only work in America because of our fuel prices," Leuliette said. "What we've created in the United States is an artificial environment."

MANAGEABLE SHIFT

As long as tax rates rose gradually, higher fuel prices would not become an onerous burden on consumers, the auto executives said. A floating tax rate would also smooth out sharp swings in the price of gasoline, which tracks the sometimes-volatile oil market.

"If we migrate slowly over years to $4 or $5 a gallon, everybody will adjust, everybody will manage. It's not a problem," Jackson told reporters.

Jackson said he would like to see the federal government rebate the amount of fuel tax paid to consumers at the end of the year, which the car retailer argued would allow Americans to buy more fuel-efficient cars.

York, the investor, suggested that Washington could limit the stress that higher fuel taxes would impose on the poorest Americans through a subsidy program, similar to one currently in place for food stamps.

Dura's Leuliette also noted that Americans could offset a gradual rise in the fuel tax by purchasing more fuel-efficient vehicles and choosing to live closer to their jobs.

German households, he said, on average spend less of their budget on fuel than Americans do, largely because of their choice to use it more efficiently.

"Energy independence in this country ultimately means that fuel has to be more expensive," Dura's Leuliette said.

I recently picked up an s13 with a red top sr swap, it is in need of a maf. i tried it and it worked but when i go to drive it starts acting funny. first it freaks out at like 2k i feather the gas and it gets to 3k i feather it again and it gets 4k and so on, one time though it acted perfectly fine i got threw a few gears with out any bogging, but it didnt pull very hard. I was thinking fuel issues cuz it has a single cam fuel filter but i dont think it would cause this much problems, i was also thinking it could be timing. Any idea's or suggestions on what to check would be appreciated. thanks!

Black w/ silver dots-ground
green-ignition
black-illumination dimmer
red/blue-illumination
yellow/red-oil pressure sensor
black/pink-boost sensor

Buy a Z32 oil pressure sending unit and install it in place of the OE switch, ground one side and feed the other to the gauge input.

The boost sensor uses a voltage reference. So you will have to buy an after market electronic boost sender, or get one from a Z32.

hello everyone,i just joined here and so far been finding somr nice info.

i used to drive a camaro but switched over to this 89 coupe.

its nothing special,got few plans......but this wont be no drag car,ill buy another camaro for that.

all ive done so far is remove the door panel tweed and removed glovebox to recover it.

Hey, I just registered here and I figured I'd get things started with a pic whore. My car just has a pop charger intake, and a Jim Wolf ECU at 14psi. Wheels are Veilside Andrew Racing "V"s. Car also has Tanabe lowering springs, AGX shocks, AMS adjustable suspension, subframe collars, drilled and slotted rotors and good pads, bolt in roll cage, body kit with horrible paintjob done, which was done by previous owner. Everything done by me except the body kit and paint.

Ok here is the problem, I can't seem to get my car to idle unless I pull the big vacuum line off that goes to the break booster. If I leave it on and try to start the car it just won't turn over. The air fuel ratio while it's cranking with no vacuum leak is like 10ish, with it off it's around 14ish and when it fires up it's at 16ish. So when I fire it up with the vacuum leak that car will ilde high but it will stay running until I seal up the leak then the airfuel ratio shoots to the 10's and the car stalls out. I tried to unplug the maf to get it to idle and it just won't do it. Checked the ecu for codes but none all is good. I thought maybe my injectors were dirty and they were a little from the report I got back after I had them cleaned and balanced. I'm running 824cc Sard injectors with a Nistune Ecu and Denso 280lph fuel pump. I also reprogrammed my nistune and tried it another Rb20 and that car fired up like normal. I'm at a very big loss because I have never seen this before.

i was on the DMV website and looking around for laws on smog and emissions because well the RB swaps not smog friendly...boo f***in hoo. anyway there was an exempt section it said cars 26 model years old and for upstate NY is said custom cars and home made cars....does a built car constitute (spelling) as a custom car and will the DMV go for this?

how many of you were "crackin v-tech" before you got your z? this question was brought about by the fact that some how all or most of my friends who either now have 240's or z32 had some type of honda as there first or car before they got the car they had now, all except for your's truely and my friend steven with a s13 vert. Site lagging

Anyone having lagging issues with the Rogue forum page loading. I can log in ok and the pages will load, then it stalls for 15-20 seconds- waiting on all the flashing/ and moving sections, then it loads and no other problems until I click on something and the page has to load again, same scenario. I'm on 54 Mbps connection.

hey guys well ive gtten pulled over 3 ties in 2 days for not using my turn signals....
umm wen i try putting em on they dont even wok so i tried swapping the fuses out and still nothing... umm my buddi old me it was a thing thaat makes the clicking noise when ur arrows start flashing.. u know when ur turn signals turn on u hear a click click everythime ithe arrow lights up

So I'm gonna get a fat tax return this year because I bought a house and had a kid. I realize tax returns are still a ways off but I like to plan ahead. I keep coming back to 16 inch wheels. I want 16s because I think it is age appropriate for the 240sx. I want 16x9 but I might settle for as small as 16x8... If it is a nice wheel. I am on a budget... I really don't want to pay more than 300 a piece... at least not much more. The problem with this budget is that I find nothing around the 300 dollar range. To be honest I really like the sportmax 002 but I want a higher quality wheel. Plus it is going to have to be 5 lug because I will be doing the conversion. I want a stepped lip... but I would settle for a flat lip or concave if the wheel looks good. (as with all s-cars I want a low offset... just enough to pull and roll a little) I like mesh wheels... but my wife doesn't and, like a dumb highschool-er, I still want my car to impress her.

Please help!

I'm new to this forum. I have two 1964 320's that I have desided to sell. Both are 1964's wedge grills. 4 speed column shifts, E-1's. they are in good shape but each needs some work. NL is $1500 the L is $1000. Both are solid trucks. Both are Washington trucks. They have been keep out of the rain for years. My Dad had a 64 from 1967 - 78. I learned to drive in it. I have a 93 coupe and it has been sitting in my driveway for about a year now. Its sitting there because of a bad auto transmission. also the brake rotors are a little rusted and some rust on the roof around the sunroof.

I'm 17 and I want to do a 5 Speed swap and fix my dream car up. I have some friends that said they would help. A couple of them know about cars and one is going to a automotive mechanic class at a tech school.

Do you know if this is a job I can undertake?

I know that the gas in the tank is bad. Anything else that you think is bad because the time sitting?

My 240 is acting up

So today i cleaned the air filter on my car, right after that it started running like there was a vaccum leak, but i checked and everything was fine. Then it started running fine again, so i kind of ignored it. Then i took it on a drive just now and its acting really wierd. I can get it into the high revs in first, but then when i shift into second or third and floor it, it wont let me get past 4 grand, and makes this really odd popping noise, then when i push the clutch in, it just dies, and my battery light comes on. Then when i start it again it runs normal until i get into the high revs, and it acts up again. Any idea on whats going on here cause i'm absolutely stumped!

Is this a good deal or an ugly 240

I was wondering if anyone new what it would take/ if it was even possible to install the new 4.3 inch premium audio deck in the 2010 Altima in a 2008 altima with the premium audio package. i have looked in to after market stuff but i really don't want to have dead blue-tooth buttons on my steering wheel. if anyone has some info on either solution that would be great considering my dealership doesn't seem to be to bothered with my inqueries.

I'm not thread literate, so bear w/me. The answer's probably somewhere on ths page, but I'm old and can't find it. I failed to "disconnect the plug before I turned off the power switch "(pages 2-25,26) and now the 12V 120W outlet is dead on my wife's car. Everything else I can test/see on the dashboard works, including the cigarette lighter. Which fuse under the hood, controls it? Is there a fuse puller somewhere in this car small enough to pull it, cause it's smaller than what I'm used to? If it's not a fuse, is it the actual outlet?

Just purchased a 2006 M35 about a month ago and wondering if I should go ahead and to the ATF.

Already planning to do the following:
1. Coolant Flush
2. Change Differtial Fluid
3. Fuel Injection Service
4. Air Filter

Maintenance manual suggest to change ATF on premium schedule, but some of it seems like overkill at 32K mi. Car in Texas now, but came from Palm Beach, FL.

I have a 2001 Pathfinder and in the owner's manual it says to use atleast a 91 octane gasoline. I've been using 89 because that's what I thought it took. Using an 89 octane gasoline won't damage my engine in any way right? Because I don't want to spend the extra money for 91.

o Warning to all those who own this engine** All VK45de engine consume oil. The PCV-positive crank case ventalation passages in the valve covers are not desigened correctly and flow too much, thus allowing large amouts of oil into the intake system. This will cause puffs of blue and white smoke after cold starts! In lack of attention this condition will cause low oil level, which in turn results in worn cylinder rings causing excessive blow-by gases. The engine will eventually develope low compression in the rear most cylinders first. To easily confirm this condition- remove the intake duct from the throttle chamber and open the throttle flap manually. Large amounts of oil residue will be seen, as well as oil pooling in the back of the intake manifold plentum... Nissan and Infiniti are not stepping up to the plate althought this is a know issue. They are putting the blame on the customers lack of service. Record all service data and present your case to a dealer. Under proper service the engine will be replace under full warranty it the vehicle is within the time and mileage limit...

If you are mechanically savvy you can fix this problem. Remove the fresh air hose, and both pcv valve hoses. Install a second pcv valve inline with the factory one using acrylic hose. then install an inline moisture filter (like the ones used with automotive paint sprayers) inline on all three hose. The moisture filters will need to be replaced incombination with your yearly service. For disposable inline filters see any automotive paint or most parts stores.

i bought a 1990 infiniti q45 a year ago. i had a used motor put in and it runs okay but not the way i feel it should be. the motor runs loud. so i am sceptical about the ccar. anyways. my heater on the 2 vents on the dash by the door if you put your hand by them you can feel warm air so i dont think the heater core is bad. but the heater will not blow the air and is not defrosting or heating up the car. what coudl be the problem
