Need some help w/S14 key fob programing

Ok I have a 1997 Nissan 240sx SE. It has been converted from auto to manual (idk if this has anything to do with it or not just saying what is done to it). Other than the tranny swap the car is stock. I bought a key fob from my local nissan dealer and they tried to program it but no luck. They said that they just had to fire their accessories guy so they really couldnt help. Plus I didnt know if the wiring from the auto to manual swap might have an effect on it. The door locks work just fine all the other accessories work just fine minus cigarette lighter being removed to have an S2000 start button install on it. So if could get any ideas or help that would be awsome.

1997 Pathfinder: Can't get new alternator in place

Replacing the alternator on my 1997 Pathfinder. I got the old one outno problem. Now I'm trying to put the new one in, and I just can'tget it in place. The lower bolt goes through two tabs on thealternator, one in front and one in back. Those two tabs have to fitaround the mounting bracket on the vehicle, and I just can't get it.It seems like the tabs are too close together and they won't fit. ButI measured it against the one I took out and it seems to be exactlythe same size.Any trick to doing this I tried attaching the upper bolt first, hoping that would help me get it aligned, but it still didn't work.I've spent a couple hours on this by now. Is filing or grinding thetabs down a bit an optionThanks in advance, Jake.

Moldy AC - 2000 Maxima

So the wife's Maxima has a bad mold/mildew problem in the AC. I have tried all of the DIY remedies - Lysol, bleach water, foaming coil cleaner - and nothing works. After driving the car for about 30 minutes I was weazing and coughing. Looking for advice on professional products or services that can take care of this problem. There is no cabin filter to replace and none of the over the counter products are strong enough to take care of this problem. Anyone have any luck with this type of repairThanks.

Dyno Run Problems :( HELP

Hi guys...Well, here's the story. I went to a local dyno today to see how it's going. It's spring, the sun was out, and I thought it should be okay.I have a VQ35DE REV-UP engine. Current mods INSTALLED: HKS True Dual Ti Exhaust, Injen Intake, Motordyne MREV2 Manifold, Motordyne Plenum Spacer (5/16 I think), Lightweight Flywheel and a reflash for my ECU.However... the dyno results were HUGELY disappointing. After reading up on some forums, it seems the NORMAL VQ35DE runs STOCK 235 rwhp. However, with my mods and the REV-UP engine, I only got 201 rwhp!!!! WTFThe engine has 4000 km on it... sooo... what could it be I suspect it's the ECU reflash, but I really need more opinions... What the hell is going onThanks.

300zx Alarm System Help

Hey i got a 1993 300zx, i put my own relay in the car to unlock the doors because both key locks are broken. My problem is that if the car is locked for a certain amount of time the Alarm sets off any my only way to shut it off is to manually open the trunk because both door locks are broke. My First question is does anyone know this set amount of time, because it doesn't happen if i run in and out of a store real fast but it does happen when i go to work and leave. My Second question does anyone have a solution to this problem anyway to disable the alarm system.

i30 Transmission - Shifting Issues

I have a '00 i30 that has been fairly trouble-free until recently. I took a highway trip, and when stopped at a light after getting off the highway, the car wouldn't shift out of 1st when I tried to pull away from the light. I nursed the car home, and after cooling down, it seems to shift OK. I'm assuming the issue is heat related. The fluid is fine and smeels normal. I've read about some part breakdowns, such as shift solenoid, speed sensor, and a few others. Does anyone have any ideas Thanks...

What the hell with delivery trucks parking too close to Rogue

Ok I'm still stuck in my bad routine of parling far from other cars, WHEN I should be following my own freaking advice about following the normal balance in my universe. I was originally parked amongst the general car population, but then I saw a truck nearby and I had a flashback about a past experience when a truck tapped my front bumper.Anyways, me playing with fire and not just parking my Rogue and being done with it.My paranoid and stupid worrying pin-head of a person HAD to drive in a clear area of the parking lot about 3 dozen spaces deep where there was no vehicles surrounding my Rogue.I go into a BIG LOT for 10 mintues then went to the parking lot. Well i couldn't see my nissan rogue BECAUSE it was next to a Big a** delivery truck. (the 13 ft high 25ft long type with the payload ramp at the back open)I couldn't even freaking open my door! Picture that people. How close you have to get to a nissan rogue and not being able to open your door because a huge delivery truck was next too you. Thank GOD he had no co-working passenger. I was about to move it if not for the ramp. It had the keys in there. In my heart I wanted to hide the keys or fling them across the parking lot, but thinking what comes around goes around. I just wrote a note telling the driver not to park to close to a car so people can enter their vehicle. How come there is no considerate people in the world There was like 3-5 spaces on the left and 20 spaces to the right of my rogue.Da*n major A-hole i think.Just had to vent to the Rogue family in here.Big picture its nothing, Just I NEED to just park naturally as in when it comes natural. Oh a SPOT , just grab it. Too many close calls, when I think too much and stare at parking lot. THINGS happen folks. Like when I saw a lady and her kids piling into their car next to my Rogue. I went to the parking lot to leave but I had to wait on the lady. She admonish my presense, then when I tried to get into my rogue she realized I was parked there. Thank god her kids were careful when opening their doors. She said sorry for making me wait. But I said it was okay and I know how it is to have kids.Sometimes parking in a clear area with no vehicles gives a BIG HUGE truck a reaon to park next to you.So parking far from other cars or alone. You're screwed either way.

I just wrote a note telling the driver not to park to close to a car so people can enter their vehicle.
How come there is no considerate people in the world? There was like 3-5 spaces on the left and 20 spaces to the right of my rogue.
Da*n major A-hole i think.
Just had to vent to the Rogue family in here.
Big picture its nothing, Just I NEED to just park naturally as in when it comes natural.
But I said it was okay and I know how it is to have kids.
Sometimes parking in a clear area with no vehicles gives a BIG HUGE truck a reaon to park next to you.
So parking far from other cars or alone. You're screwed either way.

I have a 97 qx4 that stalls at lights. I saw a post that said check the knock sensor, and the mass air flow sensor. I disconnected them, looked at them, to see if they were dirty. I reinstalled them, now the car is shifting odd. If I press the accelertor to the floor it does not downshift. The engine surges while in drive and stopped. I apologize if this is not the correct place to ask questions, I am new to forums. If anyone can help you can also email me at icncs@aol.comThank youScott

Last night i had a little fender bender, but its nothing a little elbow grease and money won't fix.Ok, so it is a little more than a fender bender. I over corrected on a drift, and went over a curb and down a 4ft embankment. The person behind me said that i rolled 4 to 5 times. As you can see, the car is completely beyond saving. I think the motor is in fair condition along with the transmission, exhaust system, and a few suspension odds and ends. I plan to buy an S13 shell for cheap and swap most of the stuff in there.

Getting power to radar detector and GPS

I'd like to use a direct wire power cords for my radar detector and GPS.The radar detector is on the upper windshield. In other cars, I've run the wire down the pillar to the fuse panel or tapped into map lights.I've mounted the GPS next to the temp control using the device half of a ProClip mount and some 3M Dual Lock (similar to EZ Pass mounting strips). I should be able to get to the fuse panel from there.Guess I'm a little hesitant to be poking around and damage a brand new car . . . any hints/tricks/suggestionsThanks!

New 2004 G35X owner with a couple of issues

Hi!I'm a new owner of a 2004 G35X. I've had the car since mid January and i'm having a couple of issues with it. First off the car is running pretty well. These issues are not major issues but i'm afraid they can BECOME big and expensive problems later on. Keep in mind that this car also has a lot of millage. It's at 300,000 KM (185,000 miles)1- when starting the car at cold it would rev up to abut 3K-4K then instead of dropping to the idle it sometimes just stalls. It's not a big deal because if i just rev it a bit it the engine will stay alive. so all i had to do (no longer cold out) was to start and press on the gas just a bit and it would stabilize. Also if i let is stall on the second start no problem at all... solid as a rock.2- then a couple of weeks ago the Service Engine Soon light came on. A part from the starting issue the car is running well, no hesitation, no studerring, run well has good power. The light just came on... i searched the net about it so i figured since all is running well it might just be the gas cap. slicked it well, filled the car with new gas yet the light is still on. 3- I feel like the gas consumption is off... I'm running at around 16l/100km that about 15 MPG. I know it all depends on how i drive specially with that 6 but still i find it high. this is all city driving though. It might be the correct figures but i find it hard not to get better millage from a 2004.4- the driver door wont close well. i mean i have to force it more then the other doors to close it. I'm sure this is just a adjustment but still maybe someone can give me some pointer on doing that.the only thing i've done to the car was an oil change and a air filter change. the oil change was about 2 weeks before the Service Engine Soon light came on and the air filter replacement about 2 week after the light came on. Yes this mean i've been driving the car with that light on for about a month. It was pretty cold and couldn't work on the car. And i don't have the time to bring it in... i will if i have too but that light didn't worry me all that much because of the way the car is running. Should i try to restrict the driving if that light is onThank you for any help. I tried searching but like all forums the search just suck.

93 240sx KA24DE Issues at idle

Okay so for starters I have a 93 240SX with a pretty much stock KA from a 91. The only thing not stock would be the Test pipe instead of the Catalyitic converter. As of now my car has issues that are most noticeable when the motor is warm. I have a hunting idle/rough idle, back fire through the exhaust ( believe I have a leak at the header ), running rich, And a shake in the motor. Also when the car is running it has a sputtering sound from the exhaust. What I have done so far are as follow. I have checked compression and am at around 155 on all cylinders, I have changed my CTS, checked my MAF, fixed an exhaust leak at the test pipe, checked for vacuum leaks with starting fluid. Not sure if its of any help but the car is a auto to 5-speed swap and running an auto ECU.Tomorrow I am going to to be checking the timing and cam position. Also will try to fix the possible leak at the header. Any input from you all is appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Tires - SDrives

I'm needing some new rears soon. Have about 20K on fronts and backs, but the pass. rear is down to 3/32nd.The driver's is probably 4/32nd.So, anybody else have SDrives and what do/did you think of them(Overall, I've been very pleased with wet/dry handling, but would like to get a few more miles out of the rears....but, maybe that's my fault...)Thinking about another set for the rear.My Nissan Dealer says they can get Kumho Escta ASX for $125 each......I would rather stay in the $125 each ball park.Would like something that could possibly handle a little snow, but not a nessicity.Opinions

water leak

whats up nismo forum, well i just bought my 89 s13 zenki w/ka24e and its the bomb love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=), anyways i have a water leak, see pic, on this pic the lowest hose that connects to the block of the 3 green marked hoses, is where my water leak is right where it connects to the block. this hose then connects to a tube which runs trough the bottom of the intake manifold http://img265.imageshack.us/im...g.jpg when i start the car and idles or drive it water will start to leak, it seems like the tubing my be clogged because pressure will build up on the hose and shoot the water out it looks like the hot water wont exit the block at that point and will just build up until it gives out and my s13 temp will rise like hell, like i said the hot water won't exit the block and just heat up, so thats my thought (or could it be my radiator) so the guy i bought it from told me that the intake manifold had to be replaced because a mechanic broke the hose or tubing something like that, and he gave me a spare intake manifold but im not sure i have to replace the whole manifold maybe just the tubing, so all you REAL AND TRUE SILVIA LOVERS THAT KNOW YOUR WAIT AROUND THE KA24E PLZ HELP ME ASAP TELL WHAT IT COULD BE OR CORRECT ME I ALREADY WANT MY S13 UP AND RUNNING THANKX GUYS ILL APPRECIATE IT!
Rust in rockers

Hello again. I have noticed a couple Chitown J30's with badly rusted rockers in front of the rear tires (as in gone). Even though mine seems to have been babied, when I looked closer, I noticed the drivers side rough and the passenger side not as bad but starting. I haven't poked at it much as I won't have time to mess with it until summer. Question: is it rusting from the inside out or outside in I had an Aerostar and Chevy pickup that were inside out. Is there some sort of bad drain or poor design that lets it rust. I alway got rid of the vehicles before the rust started (I noticed it in other vehicles).I wondered that if it is from the inside, can I drill a hole or 2 from the bottom and get some rust converter in or My son will be using the car and probably not taking care of it like I would. (He will be taking it to college next year) So I have control for the next 5 months. Hopefully he will be nice to it until he's done with college. (He had my old Lincoln for 3 years and handed it down to his little bro. so he's good on the car just doesn't wash it much) Thanks.

Hi guys, how u all doing I am new to the site and this is my first discussion. I do have a question. I have a 99 i30 which had a 16" rims and i change it to a 18". However, it works well with only one problem. On the driver side the wheel will rub against the wheel houding when ever i makes deep turns. Is it because of the 18 rim or another problem. I do see people used 18's all the time on these maximas and i30's can any one gave me an answer to my question

The Steering and Engine seem more refined in the 2010 EX35 than in my 2008 EX35

Hi All,I test drove the 2010 EX35 today and the steering feels better- less pull to the right- less jostling from side to side when going over bumps in the roadAlso, there seems to be less of a lag when hitting the gas.Is it just me or have others noticed a difference in these aspects of the 2010 model when compared to the 2008 modelNote: There were other differences not related the model year. My 2008 is fully loaded with 18" wheels, whereas the 2010 model only had the Bose/Nav. package and mudflaps. Thanks
