As both CP and Wiseco both list the KA in their catalogs, i am very undecided on which set to purchase.

I understand that both companies have HUGE reputations, particulary in their manufacturing methods.

However, CP only list pistons for the DE, which as a consequence with my SOHC head, my CR will be down at 8.0:.1. I would prefer to keep it at 8.6:1 or no higher than 9.0:1, which the Wiseco's will allow me to do.From numerous sources i've heard that Wiseco's can run the tightest cylinder to bore clearance to reduce oil consumption and cold start noise.

What's everyone's opinion on these?

I had a very similar post about what are the best forged pistons a few days ago and no one really gave their opinions as to the BEST...but there was a good response on the manufacturing process...

If the wiseco's will keep your CR at 8.6:1 and the CPs will drop it down to 8.0:1, I'd go with the wiseco's just for this reason...you'll have better driveability off-boost.

I hear nothing but good about Arias pistons though if they make them for the KA-E....Ivan swears by them.

The new Dsport January issue has a full article on Forged Pistons and list the manufactures. There is no Nissans in that issue though

Wow, excellent, informative site!!!

Looks like Wiseco takes the cake!

I think I've found what pistons I'm using when I go to rebuild my engine....I had no idea they were the industry leaders.

Like I said in the other thread, Wiseco is the top dog. They make pistons for damn near every internal combustion engine known to man. If they can't get it right, nobody can.
