Listening to this music made my busted gears turn. I am turning 24 next year and i am getting old quick i noticed. Will the military take a 23 year old?

Reason i thought airforce becuase i like driving fast so why not drive something that can go near the speed of sound

Then the navy becuase you get to shoot big guns

I don't know what do you guys think?

Not great reasons for joining, if you're asking opinions.

The military shouldn't be the scapegoat that people use it as. And I don't speak blindly about that. I see it every day, living and working within 10mins of two military bases.

On the other hand, my cousin has been in AF for many years now, and just got his Master's degree, paid for by Uncle Sam.

I dislike the Navy. The Air force is probly the best bet because they are the closest to a day to day job. If you want to fly a plane though then you gotta be an officer. I like the Air Force, and if I join a branch it will be that. I want to join the military because I thik it will allow me to travel wich is what I like to do and want to do. Just my thoughts though.

i guess the whole honor of serving the force is respect for your country and you rep your country. So...... i dunno. I guess liking fast planes isn't a good enough answer.

Probobly wanting to serve my country and all that honor garbage.

Going AF is no guarantee that you'll get to fly, you could end up washing F-111s or something (do they even still fly those?). You will get to live on a base though, which is nice, because you can have sort of a normal life.

I have lots of friends in the Navy, so I'm sort of biased, but I think the Navy is cool. There's so much cool stuff you can do. You can fly, do sub service, do surface warfare, Navy intel is the best, etc... Besides, big ships are cool, and aside from crazy yahoos in bomb-equipped rowboats, no one attacks US warships anymore. If you get on a carrier, it's probably THE safest place to be on earth, more so than the White House. Aside from a nuclear strike, no country on earth really has what it takes to bring down a US Carrier when it's with it's battle group (cept maybe the French, damn Exocets, but they wouldn't do that).

I have a few friends in the AF and they like it there. But they are using it for money for college and better job opportunities, not because it's cool to shoot guns.

AF's easier. If you go navy, there's a chance you might get stuck on a sausage fest boat. damn those boats suck.
