ka24e transmission on sr motor

i did search, came up w/ a post that said just that ka's needed bell housing swap..i know this, but i just need to double check on making sure the ka24e transmission will work...when i blew my clutch at the last drift event..mah second gear synchros went w/ it :P.. so....CAN THE KA24E transmission GO ON THE SR MOTOR??

from what I have gatheres, YES.THe only difference is that 5th gear is a little taller on the KA24DE, all the other gear ratios are the same.THe physical size is the same, the shifter is the same, the clutch parts are the same...

that' s what i figured, i'm prolly gonna swap em next week after the autocross this weekend due to rain and work..ima get yelled at during my runs for grinding every time i shift to second..lol it's gonna be fun tho :P..i figured the transmission's would be the same...if the sohc can bolt up to a dohc and vise versa, then the sohc would be able to work w/ the sr...i guess the shorter 5th would balance out my differentials taller..donno if it works that way..oh well

Actually, all of the gear ratios are different. I just went into detail about this a few posts ago...

But in short, yes it will work and it will kick total *** since the ratios are better suited for the SR than the actual SR gears

will do, my friend's father owns a shop, so i get access to their lifts, so i'm just waiting on his word for me to get on in there. i'm hoping everything will go smoothly!

aiight well here's the status:i went to pull the bell housing off the ka24e's transmission..didn't go so well..i couldn't separate it more than a few centimeters.. i don't know if i missed something or why it wouldn't come off..so i donno wut's goin on..but i do need to either get that working or get another transmission because, now my sr's 5th gear is gone...no clue how or why..it just won't go in gear heh..so gay..so i have that ontop of the 2nd gear synchros :-/
