Here's a pick of my freshly rebuilt and painted S14 Silvia K's brakes. I got them, with rotors, hubs and spindles for 75 bucks. :ylsuper

And now I want to show them off. Install in an S13 tomorrow, promise to take lots and lots of pics. :-D

Sorry, I don't have much money, and so don't get to show off alot.

I'm using the SPL conversion lines. 88 shipped for both front and rear was a deal I couldn't pass up.

In case anyone was curious, here's my budget for the full five lug and brake conversion:

All in all this conversion cost: 75: Front hubs, rotors, calipers 250: rear hubs, calipers, e-brake 25: rear rotors (ebay) 79.60: pads. ugh. 88: lines 53.50: Ball joints 11.80: new rear wheel studs 7.50:Paint 11.69: caliper rebuild (front) 250: 5-Lug 16X7.5" +30 Mille Miglias. Freebie: 4 michelin pilots (205/55 front | 225/50 rear)

If I hadn't done it, the car would be paid for but that's the way life is. :D

Did you, by any chance, mean my stock ones? Cuz, you know, I won't be needing them...

Interesting color scheme. It's one you don't see every day. Honestly I'm not really feeling it, but perhaps the pictures don't do justice. What color is the car?

Oh yeah.. how are you going to get the z32 front hubs to work? If you do it, post a write-up.. there will be some dying to see it.

I'll be doing the same brake setup(w/o 5-lug) in a few weeks.. so I hope you don't mind if I email you if I have any trouble.

The car is red. Thinking about painting it blue. And no, the pictures don't do it justice.

Now, regarding the front hubs, they're from an S14 Silvia K's, just like the brakes. So I'm not using Z32 hubs. But I'm taking dozens of pictures, and hope to have a full write up within a few weeks. :)

mmhmm, get ceramic!

everyday driving really won't make much of a difference for you with them anyway.

and drilled like to crack if you get them too hot and they cool fast, they just do weird stuff...

the regular rotors look bland though:D

mmm ceramic. Are those expensive?

Oh, and if you paint your car, do you need to go to the DMV to change the color? Sorry for thread jacking,.

The wheels are Mille Miglia something or others.

Sorry I can't be more specific, I wish I knew what they were myself. 16X7.5 +30 offset. Weigh, like, 16 pounds or some business.

The rears are Z32 calipers, rotors, and e-brake (not yet hooked up)

And the reason I didnt' go cross-drilled/slotted is simple: The front rotors were included with the calipers and hubs, I sandblasted them and rustoleum'd the hats. The rears were 20 bucks, same deal...why would I spend ~200 on rotors when I already had some? I work at a damned convinience store! And go to college! :-p I don't have money to spend on things I already have. And I sure as hell don't have the money to spend on Ceramic.

As far as performance....wow. Hooray for being able to lock up my tires pretty much on command. Full pedal pressure at anything slower than say, 40 miles per hour results in a cloud of ex-michelin pilot dust. But even after repeated jaunts down my favorite road, with ample doses of very spirited braking, they showed no signs of fade, which is the whole logic behind the swap. I therefore consider it a sucess.

The e-brake was the worst part. I misaligned it at first, because I wasn't paying attention as I was drawing it through, and then it was a HUGE pain to get re-aligned. I wish there were some alternative. But there isn't.

Anyway, I like 'em.
