So I will be getting a 89-90 180SX w/ABS from japan, part of some of the first few upgrades I want is to upgrade the brakes.

Anyone have any suggestions? I thought about the Z32 rotors but I want something new :)

I was looking at these for the fronts http://www53.ssldomain.com/fas...ZX-12

and these for the rear:http://www53.ssldomain.com/fas...1-Q45

And maybe a Z32 Break Master cylinder.

PS what are the stock front/rear brake sizes?

Stock rotors on a non-abs car are 9.9 in. I think the ABS cars had a slightly larger rotor (by like half an inch).

That kit looks nice, but it sounds overpriced. I like the 2 part design to the rotor though. I would pay them for just the rotors.

I personally would just go with stock Z32 calipers if I were on a budget. You can get them fairly cheap if you know who to go to. Rebuilts from Advance Auto cost like $78 per unit after a core swap (most advance auto personnel can't tell the difference between a Z caliper and our 1 pot calipers).

Also, if you end up upgrading all the brakes (or even just the fronts), you will need a better MC to compensate for the brakes, or else they'll be overboosted.

If you want the best bang for the buck without spending a lotGet cross drilled and slotted rotors with good pads. That will set you back no more than 200.00 nad you will get a stock compatible setup that can be intalled in less than 30 minutes.

Yea those brakes *are* expensive, but when I order they will makesure they go on easily.

I'd like to get the Z32 Package, but I want slightly bigger rotors for the front.

hmm anyone know of any other websites that would be good to look for brake packages?

Oh yea Cross Drilled = no no, those will crack in the winter, seriously, I need to drive this car in winter and -50C on ANYTHING is bad. I was gonna stick with blanks, but slotted seems to be good.

This is the first time I have seen Q45 rotors mentioned. Are they different/better than Z32 rotors? Advantages?

shouldn't the Z32 fit with the stock S13 alloy's? but the q45 fit nicely as well.

The Q45 isn't as good as the Z32 rotors but I think I'm gonna have to go with the 12.2" fast brakes in the front and 11"s in teh back with 15" Team Dynamics (I'm tired if I got that wrong don't blame me) 1 Rims for winter time :D
