Muscle it out...thats what I did :rolleyes you could always try an impact wrench or a wrench with a breaker bar.

yea, just get something that will extend the socket wrench's arm out, like i used the bar from the floor jack, which was hollow, and inserted into it the wrench arm, and that gave me more leverage to be able to loosen up the bolts.

like i said in the other forum....spray the **** out of them with PB blaster...let em sit for a bit..then go to town with a breaker bar or impact

hey, well i tried using a bar but it woldn't fit because there isn't enough room under the car. the bolt is vertical so it's kind hard to get a small enough bar in there, i'm gonna dig around my garage and hopefully i can find one. but i just went and bought some liquid wrench so maybe that will help, would holding a wrench on the other end of the bolt help if at all?

holding a wrench on the other side won't do any good.they are designed not to spin. i just did mine today i stuck the 14on there with the box end on the nut and interlocked another wrench into the jaw side to make it longer. pretty handy trick just becareful it can give you a helluva pinch. also if you aren't completely rermoving the driveshaft you can unbolt the carrier bearing and bend it in the middle and it'll slide out. that works on an S14 anyway.

ya i tried the interlocking wrench trick but no luck. your using a 14mm? cause i'm using a 17mm, but ya 'im really starting to get frustrated and i'm thinking about maybe getting a rent-a-mechanic or somethign cause i have no clue what the hell i'm gonna do.

yeah...14mm thats what size the nuts are on the driveshaft bolts. thats true for s13,s14, and s15. i've done all 3. where are you taking it apart from? just forward of the carrier bearing right?on a hicas car i just worked on there was a big thing like an adapter or something directly behind the tailshaft.don't mess with that thing.just unbolt it in the middle and pull it out.

ya, well with all this frustration last nite i decided that i should atleast take something out so i disconnected the transmission from the engine and just took the engine out, so now i have the transmission stuck in the car still because of those stupid bolts. i've had some ppl tell me to get some PB does anyone know where i can get this stuff? would putting some sort of explosives one the bolts help me out any bit?

The way I got them out was by having the rear end lifted up fairly high, position the wrench so that it's almost parallel to the ground and then attach a pipe to the end and then get it free. I hosed it down with regular wd-40 and let it sit for 5 minutes before doing that. Rotate the driveshaft after you bust free that one lower nut to get to the other ones.

ya i was thinking about raising the rear to rotate the driveshaft because i have the front already raised. so should i raise both ends of the car? but how did you get a bar to go horiztonal because the bolts are vertical?

the bolts for the drive shaft I disconnected at the diff. They point in the same direction as the driveshaft. So with the rear lifted high, you can position a box wrench's closed end on the nut and get a long pipe to go over the wrench's open (or closed) end. I went after the bottom most nut/bolt and would rotate around the driveshaft via the wheel to get the next nut lined up as the bottom (as in closet to the ground) nut. The other tactic although somewhat risky, is to #1. put box wrench so it's vertical to the ground relative to the bottom most nut. #2. put on e-brake and then #3. give it a good push with you lying on your back with your foot (might want to have a friend make sure that the wrench is staying on the nut otherwise you'll have more problems like a stripped nut). I had to do that with my catalytic converter since I couldn't get anything to really loosen the bolts holding it in place at from the downpipe.
