Just picked up japan s13 LSD(viscous) last month, and installed it two weeks ago. OK so I'm new to this lsd thing. Lsd is awesome. Don't recommend driving without one. Launches are better. Cornering is better, and the burnouts ohh the burnouts. Nothing looks worst or feels worst than a one tire burn. Yeah yeah I know everyone knows that already(hopefully). It's just that I never had so much fun in my 240!! ok now on to the question. I noticed problem while driving it today. I know both tires are lighting up, but it seems one tire is getting more power than the other. You see I can do a wicked right-handed donut(really tight) but when I try the left-handed one all I get sloppy wide circle. open diff style. Can anyone tell me what the freak is going on. Is the diff broken. Do I have to adjust anything(oil). btw both sides kick out real easy. but the left kick out has a little delay. I just think I need a little more power(ka24de). But tell me what you guys think.............(about my lsd problem!?!) ALRIGHT!!!!!!

vlsd's are not far from a open diff. remember "limited" slip not a full lock diff. a viscous unit has to be warm to work but can't be too hot or it won't work very well. a clutch type is more of a way to go or planitary gears diff is the best way to go.

the reason for the left circle working and the right circle not working very well is the fact that our cars from the factory were made for RHD so left to right balance is kinda off.

i have a clutch type from a kouki 180sx(96-99) 5 bolt diff. they were clutch type. this problem doesn't happen.

hope this info helps. also the fact that the diff may need new fluid "might" help but most likely not.

I got it from a friend who imports stuff from japan(sr swaps etc.) Mine also is a five bolt but its out of a 91-94 cause it doesn't have those cool bushings like the 95s and up. I paid 200 for it, but it did not come with axles. So your saying nothing wrong with oil weight or to much friction modifier. Its normal. Thanks guys.
