so i got a can from scottsdale infiniti and mixed in with chevron 92 at about 1/4 tank.

drove it down to PCH (for those wondering, pacific coast highway) used almost all of gas then filled it up with 92 juice again.

before i was getting around 225 miles a full tank ,now at well above half tank, i got 175 miles.

this means i might be getting 350 miles on full tank as some members mentioend on my last post.

could it be the BG44K? I have to admit, much of driving was not stop and go, but i like to believe i am getting better mpg.

it seems the engine is getting quieter and quieter.knock on wood baby..

long live my q

I sure hope it's working! I have noticed that the amount of noise I hear, vibrations I feel, etc... is inversly proportional to the amount of painful manual labor or dollars spent recently on the car's upkeep! Your best bet for real improvment is the pressurized rail flush and a filter change... also making sure the plenum, runners, egr passages, etc. are clean.

That being said, Q1 always seems happier with a can of $14 injector cleaner in her tank. Sometimes I think it would be simpler to just shove a twenty in the tank with each fill-up.

I am a firm believer in the BG and use it quite often but I also believe in the placebo effect. You spend a few bucks and the car seems to run better. Heck my car runs like new after a good detailing! I'm not knocking the BG but I would take Heath's advice in addition to using the additive.

I like that.....placebo effect....

My car always seems to run better after it is detailed too....

ha.ha.ha.... at least I am not the only one who is nuts out there....

actually, the car actually runs better after detailing is not just placebo effect.

when car is washed , all the dirt and grime is off the paint and makes it more aerodynamic, thus smooth running.

someone like q45tech will have a stats on something like this i'm sure.

it's scientifically proven.

Car: should be obvious enough

itll run better after a detailing as long as you dont get the engine compartment steam cleaned! :)

Actually, a rougher surface should allow for more turbulent flow right at the surface. This turbulence imparts a later-occuring separation of the streamlines from the profile of the car and thus a smaller "wake". The smoother the surface, the more laminar the boundary layer flow, and the earlier the separation occurs.

thus, a rougher surface imparts a slighlty lower Cd in many atmospheric applications.

it happens then that the opposite is scientifically proven.

wes and j30tbg cleans the fuel system, it is concentrated formula that is professional grade.

how often is a good question, i would think every oil change. that should keep it going. there others who are much more knowledgeable than i or try a search on bg44k.

The general consensus here is to add a can on the fill-up before each oil change. That should serve as adequate maintenence between annual pressurized flushes. Why before the oil change instead of after? Supposedly some of the chemicals in BG44K can make it past the piston rings and into the oil and cause the oil to provide less protection... in all honesty I never think of it until after the oil change, so it's a minor point - I'd say the interval is more important.

BG is the best cleaner I have ever used. The induction service does wonders on turbo motors that have milage on them. My friend with a 300zxtt did the induction service on his motor after we changed the plugs and did a full tune up on the motor. After the tune up we drove the car noticed a nice difference in performance .After that we mixed the twp mixtures and we sprayed the cleaner in the to each throttle body wile the car idled. we gave it a few revs the get out the black suit and to clean off the inside of the ehxaust turbo housings This made such a differance to that car it was truly unbeliveable.

You can order the stuff through joe at scottsdale infiniti... I just got two cans for about 40 bucks....he's picking up shipping this month.... it took less than a week to get it...

I will put a can in the Q and the wife's Expedition just a tankful from an oil change..

I am actually going to sneak a couple of ounces into the boat's gas tank as well....
