I noticed recently that my left mirror was giving a "double image" reflection, and saw a small crack on the frame, so figured the mirror was loose in its bracket.
Then started to see some goo leaking from the frame..
This morning I could see the fluid level was down, the top of the mirror was a lighter shade than the rest

Overall view, showing the double image effect and a nice fall scene:

lol, anyway, I figure this is most likely some kind of thermal compound that is meant to couple the mirror defroster to the glass.
I checked on replacements, the mirror with position sensing is around $340, but one without is a couple hundred less.
Question is, does anyone know if the position sensing components could be moved from my existing mirror to a new (cheaper) one? The double image is kind of annoying, but with winter on the way, don't want to be stuck with a frozen mirror.
Anyway, thought this is good for a laugh at least.
