sorry if this has been addressed before, but I could not find this in older threads-

It looks like I need to replace both ball joints, which apparently means I have to replace the entire lower suspension members. I figured since the front end was going to be taken apart it is a good opportunity to replace my old, tired struts as well.

Looking at replacement struts, they seem to include the entire axle mount, which means that I would have to remove and replace the hub and bearings/seals etc. Has anybody done this? Should I buy new bearings and seals for this job as well?

Any other advice welcome.

cheers

EDIT: spelling, sheesh

What did you decide on those bearing assemblies? I'm having a tough time finding them on-line.

Well, budgetary constraints led me to just install the lower suspension members. I did look briefly for the hubs/bearings, but had no luck either, sorry. The hubs are available, but without the bearings. 8-[

I recall reading (but can not recall the source) that you can just carefully pull the hubs and put them on the new strut axles, but I would not be comfortable putting 175K-mile bearings on a new, different axle.

sorry!

I found a source...look at the thread on diagnosing the wheel bearing noise.
