I would also pull the fuel pump fuse at idle... that will allow the fuel left in the lines to burn off before the engine shuts down from fuel starvation.squeefoo wrote:Open the gas cap before Starting! All that pressure in the tank has to go somewhere, if you don't -you will next time.
I just did it jacked up on a gravel drive-didn't have any need whatsoever to cut hoses. Easy as pie.FarFetched wrote:It is n front of Right Rear tire under a bracket. get a piece of fuel hose because you will have to cut hoses to get the filetr off. It's kinda hard to do it w/o cutting hoses. Don't forget to plug fuel line from fuel tank, it's a positive flow ffuel tank (constant flow).Cheers!
I purchased the Wix fuel filter for $9.99 so I had to jump on that price. They have started using ethanol on certain stations in town, but once I see that 10% ethanol sticker, I drive off. They passed a law here in OK stating that stations had to provide a sticker if their gas had ethanol in it.maxnix wrote:Joe sells them cheap. You might want to change again before your year is up as who knows what got by it in 3.5 years! Even more true if you live in an ethanol fuel area.
Quality....I don't know about that. Parts yeah, filter no. Did you see the link I posted a while back about how BADLY built the Nissan/Infiniti oem oil filter was? The car it went on was the Infiniti G35. The filter was cut open and it looked worse than the orange can Fram.maxnix wrote:Joe's is about the same price. Quality? I'm betting on Nissan.
Yeah, I did. I immediately noticed the change of acceleration once I put the new one on. I will continue to change out every June from this point on. Wix is a solid well built filter so I'm not to concerned about their oil/fuel filter. M1 filters are great, but with my oci's, the wix filter will suffice.maxnix wrote:The original oilfilter for the VH45DE was very good. Nissan quit haveing it made and went to a VQ35DE filter. I have the old ones, but otherwise it is M1 from Joe for me. Hopefully their fuel filters are the same as original. I think with Wix you should be OK, but many others are a joke. With poor quality fuel and ethanol, the trick is to keep them uncontaminated by frequent changes. You got lucky.
