Late last year, I ordered XM Traffic for my G, since in my wife's C-class it works great and comes in handy during rush hour. Granted, in hers it's a Sirius tuner and not XM. However, in the G, I was not getting any traffic for the area tollways. Just the highways and major roads. It was like this for a month and a call to XM CS proved useless. However, last week I had my car in for service and had a brand new '15 Q50 loaner, with the full trial XM and Traffic. It showed the local tollway traffic just fine. What's going on here? Do I need a firmware update or something? Or am I just out of luck?

Sirius and XM use different satellites.
It drove me crazy when I used to see scrolling stock quotes on CNBC Channel 112 my Sirius radio in my 06 G35 on my drive home but could no longer see them on the same channel 112 on my 2012 G37S XM radio. MB and Ford use Sirius radios, most other brands use XM.

Yes.
You have to call XM customer service and give the radio ID number (channel 0)
XM traffic and weather is an additional option that carries an additional charge.
Just download the Waze App. It is free and gives not only traffic but police locations
