could be more than just the linkages. it could be the gears inside the wiper transmission have filed down. this happens when someone used the wipers during heavy snow, filed the gears & eventually enough was filed down from normal wear and tear to not make contact. i did this in my altima when i was young.azhrei wrote:as the subject mentions no wipers but the motor still works, it's a 2008 rogue 160,000 miles on it. and I can move the wipers by hand so it sounds like the linkage came off the shaft, question now is how do I get to it,
thanks

pop off the caps on the bottom of the window wiper arms. remove the bolt holding each arm into place. remove the window wiper arms. then remove the plastic cowl under the windshield.azhrei wrote:pretty sure it's the linkage, regardless how do I get to the motor/linkage?
thanks
let me know if you need help. sundays i dig around, so ill take pics if you need them.azhrei wrote:ok thanks... will let you know what i find out.
thats great to see that it wasnt anything serious. strange how it just popped off like that. did you check the socket joint for any cracks? (usually cracks in the socket are the reason why tension is lost and it pops off like that)azhrei wrote:took it apart and the linkage had popped of motor spindle, put back on and now have wipers!
I'm definitely in the near future going to need to get new linkage! :-(
thanks for your help!
