I'd remove the wiper stalk and give its contacts a thorough cleaning using isopropyl alcohol. The steering column cover is secured on by several screws on the bottom; after removal, the two halves will separate and then you have access to the combination stalks.

Is it also possible the connector is installed backwards or is this not possible ?

Impossible. It only fits one way.

Does the 2001 have the switch for the rear window on the dash way below the radio?

Aren't both sprayers fed from the same reservoir? Could it be possible that the hoses that feed each are swapped? I'd check that before contacts.

Nope, the rear washer switch is on the combination stalk. I don't remember what year it was moved from the center console area.

The front and rear washer pumps share the same fluid reservoir. It is indeed possible that the hoses can be swapped and shouldn't be too difficult to check.

Our 2002 rear washer does not work and the only way to get our front washer to work is to use the switch for the rear wipers. Does anyone have any ideas about why this might be. Both motors work, we cleaned with alcohol and all fuses are okay. I am new to this site but I have tried to find answers but none seem to fit our specific problem. Thanks for any help you can give.

Two pumps.. someone plugged them in backwards. pull the right fender liner and swap the connectors on the washer pumps.. or swap the hoses comming off.

Welcome to the forum!

Have you checked the rear washer line for blockage?

I'll talk to my husband to see if he knows how to check for blockage. Any info that may help?

A small air compressor would suffice.

The most common cause of blockage is hard water encrustation at the nozzle. It's unlikely to be in the line itself, and
that's easy to check (unplug hose for nozzle, run washer, water should come out of the hose).

To clean the stalagmites out of the nozzle, remove the nozzle (it's quite fiddley) and soak in EdFred or CLR tile cleaner. I've done it a couple of times, and I need to do it again.

If it should turn out to be the hose that's plugged, I think I'd try Weed Whacker string.

There is no blockage and both washers are now working when the rear washer on the column is used. When we use the front washer, nothing happens...... We are thinking it is the switch on the column that is bad...
