These are my step by step direction to have widescreen Nico and full screen width image dynamic resizing.

You will need:
Firefox - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html
Greasemonkey - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748
Adblock Plus - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Once you have all of these
download the Image Resizer userscript
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/45458

Now the part that I did:
You need to make a custom filter to remove that annoying new resizer that shrinks the signatures and the images on every thread.
After you've installed AdBlock Plus, hit CTRL+SHIFT+V, then type in the search bar that appears "reimg.js" and it will find that pesky script. Right click it and select "Block this item..." then select Custom at the end and finally click "Add Filter" at the bottom.

Now the last step. Here's a custom userscript I did that will rearrange the right part of the forums and allow the Image Resizer to work on NICO.

Enjoy!

You can check the results with this image heavy page:
zx88-s-super-cool-gold-s13-build-thread-t455781-40.html

Open it in internet explorer and then in firefox. big difference.
A neat trick you can do is if you resize the window in firefox the image will dynamically
resize when you let go of the window. Also works if you maximize and unmaximize.

here's a screenshot:

You just click each link in order. Do what he says with the ctrl v thing, then click the last link.

Excellent fix sir!

I still do not understand the point of the resize script. We all know that there is a huge problem with it, so why not remove/disable it completely?

There's a huge problem with it? WTF are you talking about? There's NOTHING wrong with it. I understand if it's not your preference, but there's nothing WRONG with it.

If only Brien's mother had done away with him completely when she realized there was a huge problem... :)

Ahh, yeah, just to clarify, if that's the issue Brien's referring to, it's NOT the fault of the resizer. It's a side effect of the forum formatting combined with pics from ZF-era posts (which don't get resized). The fact that the forum scales to monitor size is AWESOME, especially when viewing on non-standard size screens.

Go to the test page that he linked to to test what he did.

Every single picture is cut off on the right side for me. I'm running at 1920x1200.

I have my browser slightly zoomed in. This was never an issue on the previous software. It appears what is happening is the right side bar is set to always be at the right most part of the screen. When I zoom in this causes the pictures, and sometimes the text, to run in to the side bar.

This problem happens with IE, Firefox, and Chrome.

*edit* Guess I'm talking about something different then what the OP is talking about. LOL. I actually like the resize feature that he's trying to get rid of.

So, have any suggestions for unpinning the right side bar?

When I read your posts, I hear the voice of the teacher from Peanuts.

EDIT: Yep. Still there.

Like I said, that's not the image resizer. That's a result of old (pre-resizer, pre phpbb-switch) posts NOT being resized. Any thread with the resizer actually operating won't do that.

It only works if you are not zoomed in at all.

hold CTRL and scroll up. This will zoom in. You will notice that the right bar in pinned to the edge and gets larger like everything else but it stays in place! This crowds the actual content space and causes pictures to go underneath the bar.

And yes, go to the learned 2 thread to test this. Problem exists.

It happens in all browsers though. That would imply that it's not a browser specific problem.

I know it's a one-off problem, but I've got a 17" screen running at 1920x1200. I can't read anything without zooming in! LOL

Did it.

Kinda missed the click to see in black option.
Went back and unblocked the reimg.js

Now I have the best of both worlds.
Wide screen with image resizing.

Mehdi, not too sure why I didn't do this before. But excellent work. I desperately need to take advantage of these scripts on my netbook. Thanks a bunch!

I'd rather remove/disable you completely.

Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it's not necessary.
