Thank you for the responses. My trigger doesn't seem to be the weather. Instead, it seems to connect and disconnect when the IPod is moved. I've tried every combination of turning the IPod on and off, plugging and unplugging the cable, turning audio on and off, resetting the IPod, changing the cable, changing the mode to radio/cd then back to aux and restarting the car - nothing works consistently.
My dealer's response has been the standard we've never heard of this problem before and can't duplicate it in your car. But, I know this problem exists because I've read about it on many sites on the Internet. I wish Infiniti would give a straight answer when asked about this problem. The only person who has given me a straight answer (see my original post) was a technician on justanswer.com and I had to pay $25 for it!
If anyone can offer a solution besides buying an old generation IPod, I would appreciate it. If the solution requires some service, I would be willing to do that if it's not too expensive.
