I have a 7th generation Classic IPod and have been using it in my 2011 G25 through the USB port. It worked for awhile but now I intermittently get an error message: IPod is Not Connected. I was told by an Infiniti Technician on JustAnswer.com that the Classic is not compatible with my car and if it worked at all, I was just lucky.
Is there a definitive list of which IPods work with the 2011 G25?

The owner's manual for the 2011 only goes through the 5th-gen ipod and surprisingly the 2013 G37 only lists support through 5th-gen as well. I have seen others state they are using 7th-gen ipod classics and they are working well so I don't know why yours is not.

I receive that message once in awhile usually in the winter when it is very cold. It usually clears up as the cabin warms up. A few times I had to disconnect and reconnect the cable to the USB port.

Thank you for the responses. My trigger doesn't seem to be the weather. Instead, it seems to connect and disconnect when the IPod is moved. I've tried every combination of turning the IPod on and off, plugging and unplugging the cable, turning audio on and off, resetting the IPod, changing the cable, changing the mode to radio/cd then back to aux and restarting the car - nothing works consistently.
My dealer's response has been the standard we've never heard of this problem before and can't duplicate it in your car. But, I know this problem exists because I've read about it on many sites on the Internet. I wish Infiniti would give a straight answer when asked about this problem. The only person who has given me a straight answer (see my original post) was a technician on justanswer.com and I had to pay $25 for it!
If anyone can offer a solution besides buying an old generation IPod, I would appreciate it. If the solution requires some service, I would be willing to do that if it's not too expensive.
