So which model and year M do you have?

Postby szh » Fri Nov 18, 2005 8:27 am

I think it would be cool to see how the breakdown and model year of M35, M37, M45, and M56 models that NICO people have here. This poll is for the basic car - not the specific options available in any given year!

This thread should also be used to post pictures of your Infiniti M. (I don't want to restrict pictures in other threads, just ask that you all put at least one picture in here too) !

Wow! lots of AWD versions ... must be a popular car in Canada and the snow-belt US states.

Thanks for posting, folks! Let's keep this going ...

Unfortunately, the poll software only allows one vote! For obvious reasons - no ballot box stuffing allowed!

Welcome to our new M owners!

While you're at it, post up anything you'd like to see us offer (relevant to the M) here at NICO... We're prepared to implement whatever it takes!!!

Let's see those suggestions!

I too am shocked by the popularity of the AWD M. I never thought AWD was popular in the sunny places where Infinitis are most often seen.

I knew the M35 was enough but tested and bought the 2006 M45 Sport with Tech, Journey and aero.

I think a few people here went in to get an M35 and test drove the M45 ... the rest was history!

I would have purchased the M45 if they had AWD in it, that would have been ideal; or even better AWD with the sport streering, suspension and the 8 pistons!

Now that would have been a great little machine!

I'd like to look at Turbo's and chip mod's later - but the dealer has warmed this will void my warranty...

2006 M35x Black Obsidian/Bourbon and premium pkg, light tint.

I am leasing, but will get a rear spoiler and mudflaps and possibly the piano kit and/or carbon fiber door pillars.

This is the first time I am leasing a car. Does anyone know if they will penalize me if I install any of the above parts when I return the M?

Hi,

for people living in NY and the northeast, I can't see anybody buying a Non-AWD. This is why I chose the M35x AWD. If and when the M45 goes to a M45x, (fingers crossed) I'd purchase the vehicle next.

2003 Model year.... I didn't see it listed as a part of the survey, I feel jilted, will have to posy as a 2004 I guess.

As far as what we'd like to see from Nico... how about a registry. At least for me with a 1st Generation, it would be interesting to see the break-down (by model year, color, etc) of M45's (M35's) out there. Based on what I have found there are fewer than 6000 first Generations out there, with about 3500 for 2003 and somewhere near 1700 for 2004.

It is there! As the creator of that poll, and an owner of a 2003 M45, I would not leave it out!

The order of the entries in a poll thread changes with the number of votes - the forum software does this outside of our control!

A good idea. I did not know if the forum software supported this, which is why I started this poll (for the same reason as you mentioned). I also intend to do the same for the colors, etc. and will follow up on this sometime! Thanks!

As of today (April 3rd, 2006) we are up to 62 votes. Good!

AWD is still ahead - a popular choice for sure.

Postby bamaSAAB » Sun Jun 04, 2006 6:14 pm

still miss the punch of my old 9000 turbo, but the memory is dimming. It's hard to fault this car after 4 months and 9500 miles. Its way better than I expected.
best tricks:
keyless
voice
nav
blue tooth
best features:
tall seating ( above floor)
interior space..Saab's were once designed inside out..like this car
tranny..smooth
handling...still not used to RWD though
needs improvement:
blue tooth
fuel efficiency

incredible car...especially as a first year! I swithed to Mobil 1 the last change...I may not give this one up in 32 months!!!

2004 M45 Blue
Way too cool to see another one around for miles. Never see the blue until one day there it is parked right next to mine. He didn't have the Nav or Tech package that I had. He did wash his daily though!

Unfortunately, there is just not enough of these 2003 and 2004 M45's to justify many after-market folks to invest in products for them. Sad!

About the only thing that I thought was very interesting was the turbo-charger that was available (for a short duration) for the same engine in a Q45 - the name was Keuylian Motors. I went looking when I got my 2003 M45, but they had gone out of business ... oh, well.
