Everyone (including me) always wants to know if certain wheels will clear 300ZX brakes. So I personally have checked a few and thought that a thread with input from many others would be very valuable to the 240SX community. So this is what I gathered so far.

What everyone should know already - OEM Wheels:

S13 4-lug SE Alloys will clear 26mm Z Brakes. They have to have the support ridge offset from the middle (located on the back of each spoke).

S14 SE 5-lug Wheels clear all Z Brakes (26mm and 30mm).

What I have tested so far:

17x7 +42 Offset Centerline Forged Wheels clear the 26mm Z Brakes, but not the 30mm ones.

17x7 +38 Offset Enkie Cast Wheels clear the 26mm Z Brakes, but not the 30mm ones. Tested with blank wheel only, and no actual braking. They are very very close, so a 2mm spacer might be needed, but I am unsure. They spin freely when just mounted.

17x7.5 +40 Offset (pictured) and 17x8 +35 offset 5Zigen Typhoons clear both 26mm and 30mm brakes.

If you have a set of wheels that clear either 26mm or 30mm brakes, post them up with a pic!

Was definitely impressed when I was prepared to be diasappointed (your title got my hopes up for a rare good thread, lol) by your initial research, so this gets a link in the 240SX FAQ, which I'm hoping to expand soon ala Maxima.org -- I've always been a fan of their FAQ.

Not sure how many 240 owners are members over there, but it's a bit more...... mature a forum than 240 gen here; we're slightly more entertaining, though.

(Really tryin' to cut back on stickies as we're overloaded already. )

Hmm...

SSR Integral A2's clear the 26mm Z32 calipers (with plenty of ease!)Hell i can fit my skinny hand between the spokes and the caliper so they'll fit 30mm calipers as well. No doubt.16x7+32 front16x8 +38 rear

Okay, I have to ask this. I'm planning on SPL big brake kit for the front and also doing z32 rear w/e-brake. My question is how thick the spacer has to be to install donut on front and rear. If I can't install no matter what, I'll take it out cuz there's no point keeping it in the trunk. But, I've had flat tires before, so I rather want to keep it for emergency. I don't want to be stranded and calling a tow truck. I also lowered my car w/coilovers, so I cut rotating portion of scissor jack and it's much easier to use now. Anyway, I need to know what's going to take to mount donut. Anyone has experience?

You might just want to have a full size wheel/tire in the trunk for extended driving.

What I want to know is what rims will clear the z brakes w/ the SPL brackets. 17" fn01rc's are already cleared. What else?

I doubt they will clear. I'd say no until someone proves otherwise.
