My car has gotten to where it makes a lot of poping and squeaking sounds in my roof panels. It was really quiet when I first bought it, so I figure it need lubricating. I was going to stop the top in mid cycle and put some lubricant on all the rubber seals. What would you recommend? I don't want something that is going to run all over the car every time it rains.

Becki, there's a product called 303 Aerospace Protectant that works great for what you're describing, although it's not marketed as a lubricant. You can find it on Amazon and plenty of other places.

This is exactly what I use on my convertible. It works wonders. Been using it for years.

Aw, shucks, thanks. If I could set an alarm for "Becki goes gamb|ing" posts, I'd probably come around more often.
I do still have the G37x, but it will be my last Infiniti, I fear, as the dealer moved an additional 30 miles from me. He was already 18 miles away. To make that work, they'd have to bring the loaner to my driveway and take mine for the day for service.

"Becki goes gamb|ing"

What the heck? I did not type that "|" symbol. I've been a touch typist for more than 40 years, and that symbol has a very particular meaning in my area of subject matter expertise. No way I reached my pinky over there by accident instead of pushing the key the next inside finger was homed on.

I noticed that once before when I typed gamb|ing. Don't know why it does it.

Next week is my last week of my freeplay. It really was a life changing experience. I have put enough money in the bank to carry me till SS kicks in. I'm going to really miss it. I have enjoyed my top down, singing at the top of my lungs, hour long drive down there. I have found the longest, most rural, winding road way down there. It has been awesome!

:)

While we are on the subject of sites changing words, I'll tell you the funniest one I ever saw. My F-Body club had a guy make a post that he filmed from the cockpit of his Trans-Am as he ran a quarter mile. His subject was, "View from the Cockpit". I'm not even going to tell you what the cuss check chanegd the word "c***" to.

:lolling:

I think you can imagine.

Roosterpit?

I participate regularly on a site where the filter substitutes "boobies" for "first post" and does similar things for a number of other keywords/keyphrases. Much hilarity ensues.

Got it. That is way too funny. They took something that wasn't at risk of being considered dirty, in context, and made it utterly filthy.
