Put on a short air intake today. The AEM I purchased had all the right connections except a place for this one hose. I have a 93 240 with california emissions so I presume it has something to do with that. I just left it open and the car seems to run fine if not better. What is this hose for? Should i cap it?Thanks

you can paste an image link between so that it shows up in forums.

BTW, that's the hose to go into the Air collector box at the bottom. It's not mandatory. If your so called Cold Air intake doesn't connect to it, just leave it there. But if the intake has a connector to it be sure to connect that.

Your cold air intake actually does nothing but draw hot air from the engine bay.

Thanks for the info. I will just plug it then. Hopefully I will still pass smog.BTW, I did not call it a cold air intake, I wrote short air intake. Yes, I know it draws hot air from the engine bay. My old one was missing pieces, so I found this one for fourty bucks from an online auction site. If it has to be changed may as well go aftermarket.
