What is the stock compression ratio on the Ka24e?

I have heard a couple different # ratio's. I just want to know what the right one is?

7/88 through 10/88 models had the higher compression 9.1:1 pistons. The 11/88 through end of SOHC production was the lower 8.6:1.

i thought that they went to the lower ratio after 89. i think i remember that at least the 89's had a 9.1:1 ratio.of course i could be wrong

The early 89 did have the 9.1 cr, the cars that were built 7/88 through 10/88 had that cr but of couse sold as 89 as the first 240sx. The the late 89 and 90 had 8.6cr. My 1990 240sx was made 7/89 but is still a 1990 240sx.

i don't mean to sound like an a$$ but i know that "89's" are actually manuf. in 88. but thanks b/c you seem to know what you are talking about and i am just going on memory from old threads :oface (no sarcasm intented)

no prob. maybe you could help me with totally unrelated topic. i just bought some euro diamond headlights (h6054) sealed beams for 89 s13 and i was wondering if i should get some plasma h4 bulbs or super white h4 bulbs? i had to buy them b/c my old sealed beams just suck terribly.

yes. i want the piaa super white platinum h4 bulbs but they also have super plasma bulbs. i am not sure about the advantages of plasma though and there aren't really any threads talking about them. oh well i'll prob. get the platinum.
