I was able to install a set of temp splitters on the oem aero lip:
I didn't want to go crazy so the part of the splitter that sticks out the most is only 7/8" at the end of the fender next to the tire.
Looks so much better in-person, hard to get good pics.
And yes it's only for looks.
Yes I made these splitters after I couldn't find anything that fit or price was just to high (over $400) and not worth making alteration on. I spent a long time looking.
I'm now working with a company in order to make them better (professionally). This should take a few weeks as shipping is always a factor.
On a side note I was also able to get my hands on a set of eyelids for the M's. While not cheap it's alot less money than buying from Japan ($350 + shipping). I'll be sending the eyelids to the body shop to get painted on Monday, pics coming soon.
Also I'm now working on a template for a rear splitter add-ons. This will add 4
fins to the rear of the gas cover. While not having to make the cover the savings will be just around $500.
All part that I'm making are for looks, nothing is being tested for performance. All parts are being made as simple as possible. Parts are made as add-ons while still keeping a clean look. Front splitter won't stick out 2" infact the part that stick out the most on the splitter is under 1" at the end of the fender near tire. Rear splitters won't be dragging on the ground, for now they won't pass the muffler so you won't have rubbing issues while go up driveways. Eyelids won't cover half the headlight. Everything is being made with alot of thought into it.
The aftermarket product for the M's are very low to almost none. The demand for parts are very low too. Now that these cars are getting almost affordable with high mileage the younger crowd will start buying them soon.
