Put Xpel protective cover on foglights
Took off front lower grills, cleaned them up, and used Bondo Restore Black to freshen them up a bit. (sure is easier to access foglights this way rather than pulling out the wheel liner, etc)

Grills pulled off (had to thread some thick cord through open slots to get a better grip on the grills, [the FSM states to use a shop towel to do this? don't know how that would fit?] and use a plastic lever to disengage the pawls the hardest ones to disengage where the ones by the foglights on the side closest to the center of the car...had to pull pretty hard-thought that sumbich was going to snap in half!)

Grills BEFORE Bondo Restore Black

Grills AFTER Bondo Restore Black (pictures don't do them justice--they look less faded and beat up)

ok I got the long awaited, but worth it, re-TUNE done...My last tune was done in April this year and since then I've been planning and coordinating several other mods to be added. the most recent mods and maint that I added within about a month were: Motordyne MREV2 (modified lower plenum with Isothermal gasket),
MD xyz pipe then swapped out for G35 Ypipe, Megan exhaust (mid pipes and axle backs), NGK spark plugs, new fuel filter, radiator fluid flush, Mobil 1 syn oil change

Whp = 282 @ 6408 rpm
TQ = 255 @ 4693 rpm

**we did a test run of seeing where my highest low end torque was measured = 270tq @ 2691 rpm**

I am very pleased!! I feel the smooth running exhaust and MREV2 have dramatically improved my TQ... the car feels soooo different. It doesn't feel sluggish off the line . I think if I ever get the right high flow cats / headers / cams, the car would be extremely stronger. I am still wanting to keep the driveability as smooth as possible, but yet have fun out of the VQ35 motor w/out going Turbo or Supercharger - yet ;) ....it's more fun than anything...not bad for a V6 family sedan :chuckle:

M45 splitter

I was able to install a set of temp splitters on the oem aero lip:

Image

Image

I didn't want to go crazy so the part of the splitter that sticks out the most is only 7/8" at the end of the fender next to the tire.

Looks so much better in-person, hard to get good pics.

And yes it's only for looks.

Yes I made these splitters after I couldn't find anything that fit or price was just to high (over $400) and not worth making alteration on. I spent a long time looking.

I'm now working with a company in order to make them better (professionally). This should take a few weeks as shipping is always a factor.

On a side note I was also able to get my hands on a set of eyelids for the M's. While not cheap it's alot less money than buying from Japan ($350 + shipping). I'll be sending the eyelids to the body shop to get painted on Monday, pics coming soon.

Also I'm now working on a template for a rear splitter add-ons. This will add 4
fins to the rear of the gas cover. While not having to make the cover the savings will be just around $500.

All part that I'm making are for looks, nothing is being tested for performance. All parts are being made as simple as possible. Parts are made as add-ons while still keeping a clean look. Front splitter won't stick out 2" infact the part that stick out the most on the splitter is under 1" at the end of the fender near tire. Rear splitters won't be dragging on the ground, for now they won't pass the muffler so you won't have rubbing issues while go up driveways. Eyelids won't cover half the headlight. Everything is being made with alot of thought into it.

The aftermarket product for the M's are very low to almost none. The demand for parts are very low too. Now that these cars are getting almost affordable with high mileage the younger crowd will start buying them soon.

Any chance to see pics of it not installed on the car? Is that a stock rear bumper?

Here's another pic:

Image

This is for 2006-2007 M's

The parts are attached to the gas cover under the car, they don't touch the bumper.

Hard to take pic, that's why i took them at an angle. :frown:

I'll try to get better pics tomorrow.

Rear diffusers on Ferraris actually work because the bottom of the car is totally flat:
Image

Other more common cars, not so much...

But I agree they do look cool

Pattern has been taken to a company to see if it's worth making. We spoke about ABS material. It all comes down to pricing.

Also the front splitter pattern was been sent to another company for price. If everything works out we can get these in fiberglass, carbon fiber or acrylic.

I'm having a hard time to make the eyelids, I can't find anyone local. I have 1 company to go see maybe next week.

Well if I had the money to go buy a Ferrari I wouldn't be looking to make parts for it to make it look better. :werd:

So for now I'm stuck with my M that has little to non aftermarket product to make it look alittle better without going crazy.
