Back in late 2001, early 2002, when NICOclub was floundering along with 2,500 registered members, and everyone was telling us "There's no room for a new Nissan forum" and "You'll never be able to compete with this site or that site," we pressed on and had faith. We worked harder, stayed up later, and stuck to our core values.

Fast-forward to now - The sites that everyone said would crush us are now either gone, or ghost towns, while we're among the largest independently-owned automotive sites on the web. We've held over 100 events all over the US. We've been featured on TV, we've had our cars in magazines, we've given away parts, prizes, trips, and schwag, and we're well-known by Nissan Corporate.

But the thing I'm MOST proud of is that we exist to help people. That's why many of you are here, because you did a web search, found a helpful article or thread, and decided to stick around. We're thankful for that.

YOU guys are the ones who make this site rock. You're the reason Becky and I and the Moderators put in countless hours to keep this place rolling - and we want to do something cool for you guys.
_______________________________________________

So, we want to get YOU all some recognition for your hard work in the garage. Starting this month, I'm going to begin accepting submissions for feature articles about YOUR cars, which will be prominently displayed on our network.

A lot of cars we've featured have gotten the attention of aftermarket companies, car show organizers, corporate sponsors, and magazines. So if you think your hard work and attention to detail should be getting some recognition, we want to hear from YOU.

No other Nissan forum is going to do this, because they don't work as hard as we do, and they don't appreciate you guys like we do!

We're looking for a well-written article and some pics of your ride. There's no limit to the length, but take your time and do a good job - This is your opportunity to get your car in front of some of the THIRTY MILLION pageviews a month we get here at NICOclub.

Here's a few examples, if you want some inspiration:

http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/drivin ... story.html
http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/2012-a ... ature.html

Technical stuff: Notepad is great, because it saves us some time on formatting. Use punctuation and breaks where needed, but don't worry about the formatting. Include some pics - They can be sent over via email, or just include links to your pics on Photobucket or Flickr or whatever. Make sure you include your name, your email address, and where you live. When you're all done, shoot it over to [email protected] with the subject line: FEATURE SUBMISSION.

We'll be pumping these out as they come in, and as time permits, so put this on your "to-do" list and let's get you guys some noteriety and props for all your hard work.

Ready, set, GO! :dblthumb:

I need to do a writeup on my daughters stock Kia. It's got options she was totally not used to...like...door locks that require a key to open, an ignition that is not a button, and these plastic things on the doors you have to turn for the window to roll down or up.

At least the high beam switch wasn't on the floor board. She'd have totally been confused then.

Yeah...hell, my wife looks at me funny when I talk about the HB floor switch. Kinda comical. Once I had to pull up pictures of old cars to prove it :)
