VQ30DET P0605!!

I need some help. My Y34 Gloria VQ30DET 4sp a/t intermittently feels like it has no boost, sometimes surges. Almost feels like a blocked cat - or a lack of fuel. I have ruled both out and more disturbingly once in a while when I really put my foot down, car will go into limp mode. VDC, ABS, Engine light etc all come on. At this point, it feels like the throttle only opens slightly and the transmission shifts very harshly. A scan with Carman Scan Lite comes up with P0605 - ECU ROM error!!! Turning the ignition off for about 30 seconds always brings the car out of limp mode. The car has no engine/ecu mods whatsoever. It sounds like I need a new ECU, but I wonder if anybody else has had this problem before.
