I found this on my car when I did my first fill-up and spent nearly two full days seraching auto parts websites, shops, etc. No luck finding out where the previous owner got it. I found some similar ones, but they were dodgy, thin rubber and basically rubbish. Then, on accident, I went to the Griot's website to get a new hose nozzle and replenish some supplies for my car and whilst searching for the nozzle, BAM! there it was!

It's called a 'fuel guard' and it matches the one on my car 100%.

I'm getting one for my mates as stocking fillers for Crimbo (thats Brit slang for Xmas). Just thought I'd share this in case you lot want one for your cars.

Thanks Larz. Def a worthy investment. BTW your car looks so elegant with chrome trim everywhere. Are all 09s like that?

Yes, far as I know, the chrome along the doors and the rear bumper sides are standard factory trim. One thing I can't work out though is that the car came with every option including rear sun shade, rear climate seats that recline, rear fold-down screen, and all the tech stuff, etc. So, why does it NOT have the rear trunk lid spoiler? That seems like such a low priced option compared to everything other option added to the car.
You're right though. This 09 car looks more elegant and my 07 looked more sporty even though it's the same body as the 07 with minor changes on the grille and tail lights. I plan on adding eyelids and rear spoiler so it might end up with a 'sporty + elegant' look after I'm done.

The trunk lid spoiler is more of a sport style option, and since it has all that tech stuff including the rear seats features that means it does not have the sport package since sport excludes some of those features. Whoever bought the car originally probably didnt want the spoiler because it was not going to be a sport model in any way.

BTW, I love the pinstriping. It looks very elegantly done on your car. Since you plan on adding the spoiler and eyelids you should also do some checking with Photoshop and see how the car would look with blacked out tail lights and black painted headlight housings with just a bit of tint over the headlights too. I bet it would look really sexy.
