In addition to the good value for the money, I think the Versa looks far better than the Fit, in my opinion. The rear of the Fit just doesn't look right to me. I like how the roof of the Versa tapers back down after center.

I completely agree with you.

Did the Fit go through a body style change from '07 to '08? I'm pretty sure that happened, I never completely disliked the Fit until they redesigned the rear end.

The Fit is NO! amiright?! amiright?! =P

The Fit did go through a bodystyle change for its new model year. It got slightly larger and the outside was moderately refreshed.

Old Fit

To further illustrate the redesign.

The new Fit has been completely redone... it wasn't just a body panel change.

If I were in the market - I would pick it over the current Versa.

I like the front end of the Fit better than the Versa. The rear end of the Fit looks like somebody did a half-***ed cosmetic reconstruction of a fat woman, they took too much fat off and it appears to have a sagging bumper like that of excess skin.

I wish the Versa side skirts and front/rear bumper matched the body color without having to pay extra for the sport kit. On the Fit, it is standard. The door handles on the Fit are crap compared to the Versa's. Overall, it's a matter of opinion which one you prefer, but I think it's a 50/50.

When the remake of the 2011 Versa comes out, that will put the redesigned Fit to shame. I believe that Honda needed to redesign the Fit for 2008 because they had to make it more competitive with V, Yaris, Mazda 2 and Mitsubishi Colt in foreign countries.

Here are pics of the other two if you never seen them before:

Mazda 2

Mitsubishi Colt

I wish these two were marketed in the US.

Gen chat? I checked out the Fitfreak.net forums quite a bit to see what they're up to. Apparently, they're too caught on their cars in there. If you don't drive a Fit, they will bring you down hard core. Some of those guys have nice rides though.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Versa. That being said, its not the best looking car but I find it somewhat better looking than the Fit. I would have loved an 08 Maxima but couldnt afford it. For the price it can't be beat. I think it looks more European than the Fit, which I find a bit to Japanese for my preference. The Versa reminded me of the Micra I drove in Ireland and that's why I got it. 4 months later, 7500 miles and I dont regret it.

just my 0.02 (not that anyone asked for it!)

1 of the fit guys tried to talk trash about how if we had a micro meet that he would key my car... and then i showed him my carbon hatch and he shut his mouth!

Not to be contrary, but I'd bet the Yaris' hood is smaller. The Yaris has a stupid design that has the bumper wrapping back up where the hood should be, so the hood seam is farther back than it would be on a car not designed by encephalitic quadriplegic monkeys on crack.

I would hate to actually have to do any work on that motor.

Those windows should be listed as the "Car Thief Convenience Package" on the window sticker

I just looks like it got a face lift on the front. It was stretched around the front sides.
