BTW i was thinking of around 13,000 for my price range. I think ill only find a Gen 4A.Tech wrote:And Gen 4s (95-99)are nice as well and still quick. Not to mention without a Lip kit imo... They are way nicer looking than the Gen5s(2000-2003). And they look even more badass with a kit on them.
However, the extra horses on the Gen5's(222hp vs.190HP stock) along with more mods parts at cheaper prices are really the huge pros of the Gen5. With a nice exhaust/Y-pipe combo and Intake upgrade you can achive about the same HP maybe a little less of a early Gen 5(2000-2001) in a Gen 4.
However. If your willing to spend the money on a Gen5, you mine as well get the 2002 and up. Which has the most HP(255hp) at of the bunch due to bigger engine etc...
I paid $11K for the 2001 I30 I'm driving now. It doesn't have a scratch on it and had only 60K on it when I bought it.vish09 wrote:BTW i was thinking of around 13,000 for my price range. I think ill only find a Gen 4
The I30 is the Infiniti version of the Maxima, my '01 is an A33 like the 5th generation Maximas.vish09 wrote:thanks for the info, might look into it i like any entry level sports sedan. I don't know how sedans just appeal to me.........
The third gen Altima (2001-on) was the first to offer a V6 (the VQ35). The just-released 4th gens also offer the VQ35 but with higher HP and torque ratings. Altima generations are wierd, though, since the 1st generation of the Altima (by name) were called "Stanza Altimas" and the Stanza that came before it also used the same "U" chassis designation that the Altima has always used. Back before that, the 810 and 910 that also formed the basis for the Maxima were also known as the Bluebird. Some U-chassis cars were also known as the Bluebird. The 1985-1988 Maxima and mid-80s Stanza shared the U11 chassis designation as well.vish09 wrote:right now i guess the ones i want the most are the maximas (4th and 5th) or the altima with the vq in it 5th gen??
