I was hoping that I could get some advice on lowering my 87 hardbody as much as i can without resorting to air or hydros. I already twisted the torsion bar and put 3" lowering block in the rear, and my truck is about 27 1/2" inches from the ground to the very top of each wheelwell. Are there any other things I can do to my truck to get it lower than that?...... here it is.

Drop spindles, re-arch the rear leaf springs, re-drill the front spring hanger, pull the middle leaf though that will make your ride mushy and you will lose all hauling ability.

I have a 90 nissan hardbody tortion bars cranked all the way down with spindles and thats more than enough for the front. I need to raise it up some cuz it rubs when i barely turn. bout 200 bucks though lol

And if you want to do it right, 4 link the back on some dropcoils or springs or somethin

heres mine Front: i cranked the t-bars, smaller bump stops, ford pinto shocks.

rear: 3 in blocks, and flipped my leaf springs,

not as low as it could be i could still re-drill the hangers but i like where its at right now.

you will hit your frame before you rub tire in the rear (DEPENDING ON WHEEL COMBO)

i still have an inch and a half between frame and axle, i had to remove the rear bumpstop, i have never hit the frame........ the tires im running are 250x45x16

you can redrill the hangers aswell but if you do all three you will need a notch in your frame. but either redrill or leaf flip with three inch bolts gives a nice stance.

that garage miniz truck is beautiful 4 link with coil overs

where the hell did the OP go? lol

the op's right here. i think i'ma get the drop spindles and keep the torsion bar cranked as much as i can. i'm sure that should be low enough for the front for the time being. i'm still debating on what i should do for the rear. I was thinking of maybe getting lowering leaf springs and putting my 3" lowering blocks. or taking out the middle leaf.

haha nice

i would say spindles but not everyone is made of money....

as for the rear i wouldnt take out the middle leaf iv seen some guys snap the main leaf by doing that. lowering leafs and blocks should be fine though

i pulled bumpstops in front an un cranked the front t bars and it rides very low, hand pulled the front fenders out a bit and solved the rubbing problem, then i have 3 inch blocks in back with air shocks and i pulled the middle leaf. the front leaf spring perch is roughly 3 an a half inches from the ground and i dont rub my tires ever, it scrapes on almost all bumps though.

sure how to attatch a picture but i will as soon as i figure it out

I would love to get some wide wheels like that that fit inside the fenders, I want wider wheels but have found it impossible to tuck em unless you do some major mods to the truck. I love the wide wheels all tucked in.

That's what they say but I caution you. Leaves are spring steel and should only be worked one way. Flipping them exposes you to increased metal fatigue. It's no different than swapping torsion bars left to right, they fit but they were not designed to twist backwards. I advise against flipping the spring packs just to get lower. Do it correctly and have the leaves re-arched for a lower stance. Be smarter, be safe, live longer and have fun.
