Hey guys, i was wondering how much the manual transmission costs for a 1995 Nissan maxima. And if there is and "how to's" on swaping transmissions. Thanks

There are directions in the FAQ/How-to sticky at the top of the forum. Scroll down to the second post, and it's in the 4th gen info.

you mught need to swap interior pieces and your ecu, then you axles and on and on and on. think twice before making your decision. this can very costly to you. good luck

you will get a cel if you dont swap out ecus or get one that is programed for a 5speed the only interior stuff you will have to mess with is the shifter area and then cut out room for the clutch which also means getting rid of your current brake pedal, i dont think you should have any problems with the axles but im not sure i havent done one on a maxima yet just my old 240 so mabey someone who has can give you some better pointers

he should check with the parts store to see if they are the same. and yes i have been a mechanic for 15 yrs i have done those. i don't reccomend swaps like this. and your 240 is a RWD nor FWD. apples to oranges boss.

CV axles work for the manual, but you will need a new tranny mount which is a royal pain in the a** to find. The hardest part of the swap is drilling the hole for the clutch pedal. Soooo time consuming. Im driving around with my auto ECU right now and have CEL's, but it runs fine. Thats my two cents.
