Does 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE use the same fluid for its transmission fluid and power steering fluid?

Spec for ATF (10 quarts capacity) is Nissan Matic-D but Dexron III and the latest Dexron VI should work. You can also go for the more expensive Mobil 1 ATF or Amsoil. After the transmission service, add a bottle of LubeGard Red ATF Protectant (@ $13 from Napa).

Spec for P/S fluid is Dexron II and again Dexron III should work.

I use Mobile 1 synthetic blend in both applications. It states on the bottle that it's compatable with Matic D.
