Hello, putting the engine back in the car and found that the torque converter sits back about .5 inch from the tranny housing and needs to be 1.0 inch to prevent binding. Tried fo hours turning, pushing etc but can't get it to go. Strange the service manual shows a notch but mine has only the "flats" Any help out there?

You are reinstalling factory components?

yes, everything factory. Figured out the problem. Had to take out the tranny pump and file the engagement cog so the torque converter "flats" slid in easier. All back together now. Thanks for the reply
