Bad TPMS sensor?

My M45 I am pretty sure has a bad TPMS sensor as I try to check my PSI in the computer and it gives me "**" which I am assuming means it can't get a read and one if not all the sensors are bad and I was wondering what would be the best method to determine which one is bad?

Well, if these TPMS sensors are the original ones to you 03, then some batteries could be dying by now. Did they just suddenly start showing the asterisks?
It could also mean one or more of the tires pressures are way different than the others/than ideal pressure. So just check the pressures manually to eliminate this.

If you are friendly with the dealership, swing on by and they have a tool that can scan the TPMS thingamabobs to see if they give any signal or if they are dead. No idea what the cost would be as I saw them use it when I paid 40 bucks for mine to be reprogrammed.
