I've seen a couple post that talk about batteries in the sensors (on the inside of the tires). Can the batteries be replaced or does the entire sensor need to be switched out? I need to replace my tires before too long, so knowing this will help me do the job once.

Thanks in advance.

Tom

Sadly the batteries aren't replaceable.
And if you can, buy the rubber/plastic ones instead of the OEM metallic ones. I had an issue with corrosion.
I replaced mine with some generic ones. No idea what the brand was, but Part # SE10001HP for 50 bucks each. I probably could get them cheaper but I was in a pinch as the tire shop broke 2 of them during removal. No blame, the components were seized together.

Thanks for that. I found them for $35 online, so I guess I'll go ahead and purchase 4 before I install my new tires. I'd imagine that these are original, and they've reached the end of their battery life. Seems like a shame they didn't design these so we could just put in a $2 battery every time the tires were changed.

Good job. I have the same car, an '03. I had my tire sensors purchased and installed at my Infiniti dealer. $386. If your labor cost was $100, you paid about $240.
