Hey Nico,

Image

I've been using the Top Speed Pro One Cat Back Exhaust for a couple weeks. Now that it's been broken in, I can do a true review of the product.

Appearance:

Image

The exhaust is fully stainless steel throughout except for the tips. I really like the way my undercarriage looks now. Things look a lot more busy and less boring down there.
TS was kind enough to let me swap out the stainless steel tips that it comes with, with slanted & burnt titanium tips!

Image

A couple of people have actually been suggesting that I switch to burnt tips from the get go. Initially I was a little hesitant, but I think they look great and they match my lug nuts / wheel face / wheel rivet combo pretty well!

Image

Sound:
Before I start, let me mention that the only other performance mod I have is a Stillen Short Ram Intake and my engine is a 2.5 liter. Also, I left the silencers on so for those of you that want it to be louder, simply remove those!

The sound is great! I was very worried that it would sound too raspy but it sounds just fine. I made three revving clips complied into one showing sounds from:
1) First start-up of the day, 2) After warm up, 3) In cabin after warm up.

Performance:
My car pulls a little bit more but you guys know the deal: exhausts are really for sound =]

I'm very satisfied with the exhaust and the experience with the Top Speed team! They're a nice group of people and you guys should check them out. They also make headers for our cars. If you're looking for an exhaust at an affordable price, I'd recommend it. The exhaust is the same for both 2.5 and 3.5 applications except you have to use the included extended piping on the 3.5. Which is not extra.

It looks like this:

Thank you Top Speed!
And no, I wasn't paid / coerced / bribed into doing this :)

Yah, I saw that on eBay as well. They also made a limited # of headers they listed, for the price I dEcided to pick them up just in case I wanted decent headers for now. I will add they look better quality then the stillen ones.

Quick question Alex, I know it's your car picture presented on the products page.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissan-A ... 5ad0fd068f

So the Nissan altima coupe top speed pro cat back for 08-09 will fit our 2010-12? I assume the only thing that is changed is our front fascia. Sorry I'm a Altima noobie.

If I were to purchase this as of now, I want burnt tips also... do I message them? or is it not an option and you were lucky to get them.

Thanks in advance

Hey Jase,
Yes it will fit 2010-12, mine is a 2010.
If you want the burnt tips I would message them before purchasing and let them know what exactly you want so they can get your order correct. I'm not sure if it is normally extra or not for the tips. Shoot them an e-mail, they reply pretty quickly. Or better yet, give them a call. Tell them Alex with the Altima sent you, that might help.

I'm not sure. The Stillen exhausts have specific applications for sedans and coupes so I want to say that this will not fit a sedan. But our wheel base's are pretty similar so I don't want to say "no" just like that. Theres about a 4.0 difference in wheel base.

Nice, hope you like it!
Yeah I don't have TPMS in the new wheels.

Really is a nice bang for your buck.

Nice, sounds really good. I can't wait until I get custom 3" exhaust for my 3.5, I'll be getting burnt titanium-style tips as well.

Tips should be burnt on the inside as well. I'm assuming the mufflers are straight through. I'm not knocking this exhaust, it's an AWESOME deal for the price but it looks ricey IMO. The big fart cans look awful, and would fail inspection in most places in Canada. :/

The sound is OK, i'm sure it sounds better in person, at least I hope. I don't hear any popping and crackling. How is the droning on the highway?

Comparing this to the Greddy Spectrum Elite that I have, I do like mine better from looks wise and sound, however, I'd really have to see it in person to be sure and would certainly swap out the "mufflers".

Just shoot them an e-mail Flores or call them, cause that's exactly what I would be doing to find out for you lol.

QR, thanks for your input!

I don't think it fits the fat can look. I know what you're talking about and I'm against the whole fart can thing, but I guess we may have different perspectives on what gets labeled as that. I do want smaller tips though. I also wish the edges of the exhaust tips were more rounded as opposed to more sharp. I like how "raw" it looks though on my current setup. My next setup I'm hoping will be a bit more luxurious and I'd like to look into getting smaller and rounder tips.

The drone is alright, but also know that I just recently got into modding last year, and it's my first exhaust. I don't have any thing to compare it to. But from the few videos I've listened to and cars with exhausts I've sat in, the drone is not bad at all.

I also wanted the SE. It looks great! But the videos I found on youtube made them sound too loud for my taste.

I'll make a video of mine with my GoPro when I get home from work to compare. My tips are a bit rounded. Note that my car is boosted so some of the exhaust noise is muted from the turbo but it sounds awesome. No highway drone at cruising speeds.

My exhaust isn't that clean anymore but the tips polish up nice. Been on the car for 1 year+ and driven in winter.

This is why I didnt buy this exhaust. Roads in my area are crap, and unpredictable at that. Potholes pop up all the time, all year round. Im not even on coils and I already knock off all kinds of crap under my car, let alone when I have to drive through snow. This thing would get ripped off within a week. Looks like you fixed that with a couple planks, eh? :yesnod

Wow your roads must be really bad if you aren't even on coilovers. And yeah I use planks to get into my garage.
Because my car is so low, I had to get the flanges shaved / ground off so that they're now even with midpipe and it's fine now. But most people should not run into scraping issues unless you're really slammed or you live in a place with roads like DJ lol. I thought Texas roads were bad.

Haha thought you were going to make another thread or something... This isn't the "Top Speed / Greddy Comparison" thread lol. Should have put the clip here: exhaust-clips-and-videos-post-here-watc ... 49481.html or just made another thread. All good though

how hard would it be to get those tips replaced? would they have to be specific to that exhaust and and would they still be set off at an angle?

I know this is off-topic but the tire pressure signal that's blinking, did you fix that? I went to my mechanic today and he checked the tires, nothing was wrong with them and the damn thing is still blinking. :tisk:

I think you just have to get tips with a similar diameter. I've never done it before

Mine went off on its own eventually. Actually it might have gone off after I disconnected / reconnected my battery at Wekfest

I took my car to the dealer today just for that, it was really bugging me out. They said the sensors were messed up and the gave me new ones, now it's gone. :) thought I'd give you an update just in-case it happens again :p
