Ok, was wondering - i have a 03 350z with 50, 000 miles on it I am 32 yrs old, and it has been by far the fastest car i have ever owned, and i have had sports cars since i was in high school, from a Fiero GT , Miata, Eclipse, Del Sol to now my Enthusiast but i guess im getting greedy here but i just absolutely love the power! almost 300 horses and was wondering -without having the car manipulated too much, how do i add more horses? i heard of a "card" once? is it something that an experienced person would be able to do without tearing my car apart? and how much does it cost? or is there no such thing as a card" thanks in advance!

In terms of power depends if you want to go forced induction or keep it a N/A engine, if N/A you can put a true dual exhaust which will add a bit because the stock one is really restrictive, a cold air intake which will add a bit, and if you really want to change alot there are so great headers " i like the nismo ones", better pullys, ECU re flash which will reprogram your cars computer and timming and creat some hp increase among other things. If you do want to go with forced induction tho you can really see alot of hp from the engine, the thing your goin to want to watch tho is the stock internals have a resistance of about 400-450 hp and if you go over your really pushin it to blow somethin so if you do want to do that and have the money to you might want to think about forged pistons and changing the internals to aftermarket forged ones to stay safe, but there are a lot of good SC (supercharger) kits out there and a lot of good turbo kits out there but just make sure if you do choose to do one of these that it is tuned right or your just askin for trouble, Last thing is if you wanted just a little hp at spacific times to have fun with theres always nitrous, but again be sure not to go over the limmet or your askin for trouble. But ya hope that all helps im still learnin too but good luck with your Z.

You could also look into an intake manifold spacer. They give you anywhere from a 10-15hp increase. You could also get a bettert intake manifold as well.

Do a search on NICO...There is power to be gained from the VQ, but it can get expensive.

The "card" might be an ECU reflash. Not needed until your in higher HP numbers or FI.

Fiero GT you had! Love em and had two myself. They were way ahead of their time in design. Wished they still made them with Z quality and HP.

Did you install an intake manifold and spacer and if so does it really give a little more gain. I have a cold air intake, headers, and dual catback exhaust but I want a little more for right now.

A inatke spcer gives you 10-15 hp depending on which one you get. Not sure on what the manifolds give you in terms of gains, but it does make the air flow though the intake manifold better.

miata's are slow,

if you want power forced induction is the only way to go, all these minor mods just wet the appetite for real power

+1 and well said. All those bolt ons give very little increase but may look or sound good, and thats all! A super or turbo charge package is the only way for a real increase in performance. Warranty issues are another subject though.......

This is not totaly true. Making an na car faster is more expensive then fi, but can be done, cams, port and polished, 3.9 rear ect. Some people like the torque and power curve of natural aspiration and don't particularly like fi.

all the bolt ons available will yield only a small percentage of what a basic sc kit will give you out of the box, granted most bolts ons will also help get the most out of a forced induction setup, you could do a full balance and bluepring with custom lightweight internals and super high compression spend 4 times as much as a sc kit and get about as much power
