So, I've ordered new tires for my '07 G35S sedan. My car has OEM wheels from the first generation G35 on it, 17" all around, instead of the original 18".

I ordered 4 of the same tire to fit the wheels: 215/55R17

Then, I noticed that the '07 G35 Sport came stock with slightly different tire sizes -

Front: 225/50R18
Rear: 245/45R18

QUESTION: Can I install the original front and rear sizes on my 17" wheels (different from the stock 18's)? Will that work? Should I do this considering what's best/most natural for the car?

Appreciate anyone's thoughts as I ordered the tires online over the weekend and may need to change the order

The tires that come OEM on your 07 sedan are 225/55/17.

You can use this tire size calculator to determine the size difference. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

What happened to the OEM wheels?

TireRack tells me the sizes in the OP for 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan Sport Package, different for front and back... I'm pretty sure those sizes are listed in the manual, too. Where do you get 225/55/17?

Edit: OK I see 225/55 was standard for front+rear on the 2007 with 17" wheels.

Though my car originally came with 18" wheels, and the tire sizes in the OP

What to do?

Thanks for your link Gilley. (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html)

Helped me determine that sticking 225/55/17's all around will make an extremely marginal amount of difference (<0.3%) from the OEM wheels+tires.

Incidentally, that's the size you told me. :bigthumb:

Also, since you asked --

I didn't like how they looked as much as these older 17's. :)

You are on the right path, make sure the tire diameter that you go to match the diameter of the stock tires.
