Hi,

I have a 2003 G35 Coupe and need new tires. It current has Michelin Pilot Sports that were installed about 40K miles ago. What would be the best tires for it? I can do Michelin Pilot Sports again; Discount Tires recommends Yokohama YK580 over the Michelin and then there is Kumho as well.

I live n Atlanta, so we get the seasons but not extremes. I am a safe, conservative driver and do highway as well as city driving. I want something that would handle better and am willing to sacrifice longevity for safety. Discount Tires installs them for $850 (for the Yokohama) or $950 (for the Michelins). Any better recommendations?

Thanks!

Try Hankooks. I'm happy with mine. Check the Tire Rack website for these and others.

After doing some research, I think I will go with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 (V-Speed Rated). They seem to be one of the best at handling, although are quite noisy. Thanks for your response!

Hankook V12's are OK for summer tires. For all-season I would look at the A/S's you mention above or ContiExtreme DWS. I have Pilot Sports on my coupe and the DWS on the sedan.

I had Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 installed and they are great. I can really feel the car gripping the road. It makes driving a significantly better experience. I changed them after 40K miles but will change them sooner in the future.

Thanks for all replies!

I don't know about the A/S's but the Conti DWS get noisy when they are 3/4 used.
