Falken FK451's. I really like these tires. Quiet, fairly long lasting, and sticky also. They work great in the rain, and so-so in the snow. Excellent in dry conditions.

Yoko AVS DB S2's (235-40-18)

Good:Water traction is pretty good and I have not had any real issues in rainExtreme stiff sidewall with ultra-rating means they handle the twisties very well

Bad:NoisyUltra Perf = poor tread lifeFollows truckers ruts pretty badFor a all season they are absolutely horrible if there is a snow flake on the roadStiff sidewall makes them hard to deal with on rough roads

BFG Traction T/A's. So far minimal road noise and good wet and dry traction (for an all season performance tire).

Just got a set of Falken Ziex ZE 512s put on friday. So far I like them a lot, especially for the price (under $400 mounted and balanced for all 4). A quick scan of the internet shows them to be popular with Miata owners, which bodes well for them.

The car feels a ton better now (of course that could just be the fact that my tires have tread again...). Both ride quality and handling/responsiveness are increased. I haven't driven in wet or snow yet, though. The tread pattern looks like it should provide much better wet traction than my old tires.

I've never run Falken tires before, so I'm not sure what to expect as they see more and more use. It was either these or a set of Toyo Proxes all-seasons that would have been almost $200 more, so I went with these. So far I don't regret it.

Also, this is the first time I've ever run directional tires on any of my cars. Anything I should do differently (aside from not rotating them so they're backward...)?

One other not-so-hot side effect of these new tires is that I'm starting to feel how badly I need rear shocks. With my old tires, the back end would just come loose while turning under heavy braking. With the new ones, they stick like glue and the trunk goes all over the place. Fun...

TOYO PROXES have been excellent. They have given me the performance AND Longevity that I haven't been able to get out of any other tire.Have 30k on them and 40-50% of tread left.

Good Year Assurance Tires. I've had them for 2 years. Great traction in rain and snow. Never had any problems!

Well, My yoko's are coming off today hopefully. Replacing with Kumho ASX 245-40-18's. I'll update my opinion on those tires once I have put them through their paces......

That sucks. Black steelies actually don't look bad, though. I considered getting a set for my car just for the stealth look (since my stock wheels are a little scarred anyway). It's hard to find glossy black ones in FWD offsets, though.

Just don't go putting fugly hubcaps on them.
